Midlife Helper: A Daily Water Drink

1 La Croix I like lime

1 scoop collagen- I like dressing your truth by Carol Tuttle

Can you believe we’re at the end of April and heading into May? That happened so fast! I’ve had a lot going on since the beginning of the year, and I’m finally starting to feel like I’m seeing the light. Today’s a fun day on the blog. Not only is it Way to Wear Wednesday, but it’s also the last Wednesday of the month, which means it’s also a blog hop day. Today, the ladies are sharing all things Springs. I can’t wait to read all the ladies’ blogs this morning, see what they’re focusing on, and share with the Spring theme. I’ve Linked all for Ladies at the end of this Post: Dawn, Cindy, Stephanie, and Shelley. Shelley is NEW to our Blog Hop, and we think you’ll love her and her blog.

Three Ways to Style Floral Pants this Spring. Floral prints aren’t something new for Spring, but how we style the print can be fresh, finding a fun floral pattern that grabs your attention and finding a floral print on something you might not already own in a floral print. In my case, it was jeans.

I found these beautiful Leon Double Hem High-Rise Wide-Leg Cuffed Jeans by Pilcro: Floral Edition, and as soon as I laid eyes on them, I knew they had to be mine. Not having anything like them in my wardrobe. I am not a big floral pattern girl, and it is hard to believe. You would think I would own a ton of florals, but I don’t own a lot of prints. I love floral prints and patterns but always buy Stripes and checks.

This pair of The Leon Double Hem High-Rise Wide-Leg Cuffed Jeans by Pilcro: Floral Edition Is calling my name, too. It is the color pallet I am most drawn to: Neutrals.

This is probably one of my favorite Spring outfits. I can’t wait for the weather to allow me to wear it. Second Way to Style Floral Pants

Spring in Utah requires a sweater—or, as we say in the styling world, “a third piece.” The Cashmere Quince button-up cardigan is so cozy and soft. Tucking in a cardigan is an excellent trick for giving your sweaters a fresh look. This is a great everyday Spring look. Pull the beautiful shade of blue out of the floral print by pairing it with a Blue faux leather jacket. Mine is a Charlie B, and Madison Maison slides in the same shade. Keeping it neutral with a mocha long-sleeve crew neck. Silver is making a strong appearance this Spring, and I am here for it. I love this silver, and I wear silver hoops and a Kendra Scott necklace.

It’s Sunday, which means Sunday dinners, and tonight, we’re having Smoked smash burgers with all the fixings, homemade French fries, Country beans, and Fresh fruit per Hamptons’ request. I’m sharing a recipe below for one of my favorite Margaritas and a few favorite things from the week you could have missed.

Happy National Margarita Day!

Easy Spicy jalapeño Margarita Recipe

Hudson joined me in the kitchen today to make one of our family’s favorite Margaritas.

Recipe below:

-Glass of ice

-1 shot Tequila of your choice (we like Patron or Don Julio)

-Oneshot Elevated Mixers Margarita mix

-1 shot Grand Gala is an orange brandy liqueur or Grand Marnier or Cointreau (These are better options than triple sec)

-Salt for the rim

-Lime sliced for the rim and juice

-2 Jalapeños sliced for muddling (reserve some for cocktail skewers)

-Handful of BlackBerries for muddling (reserve some for skewers)

-Blue Berries for skewers

Directions:

Rim the glass with lime and dip it into salt. Add ice and one shot of Tequila, mix, stir a lime squeeze, and drop in a couple of Jalapeños. Stir (I also like to muddle in blackberries), stir, and float with liqueur. Top with a jalapeño, blackberry, and blueberry skewer.

You can add jalapeño depending on how spicy you like your cocktail. We like it spicy. I’ll muddle 5 to 6 slices in with 1/2 a lime juice. This is when you add some blackberries as well.

Enjoy alone or with my roasted peppers, chips, salsa, and Guacamole.

Hello Pretty Ladies,

I hope you had an excellent Valentine’s Day. We had a pretty low-key day. Our anniversary is also in February, and we would like to celebrate “our love story.” I went to lunch with a girlfriend and dropped off Valentines to our boys, wives, and girlfriends. Ben and I exchanged gifts and watched a movie. Pretty low-key! I didn’t even make the big Italian dinner I would make; I am saving it all for Sunday dinner with the family.

It snowed Thursday night, a good portion on Friday, and into Saturday morning. This sparked my blog post today, How to Beat the Winter Time Blues….A Self-Care Saturday For Women Over 40 By this time of year, I am ready for Spring, longer days, and warmer weather. A little self-care time helps cure the winter blues and adds a little pep in my step for the new week.
