Hello Pretty Ladies,

I thought it would be fun to share some fun free date night ideas with you that my hubby and I love to do with each other, along with a couple of reasons why it’s important to date your spouse.

 

The importance of Taking Time to Date your spouse:

Taking the time to date your spouse is essential to stay connected,  share your thoughts, and catch up on your week. Life gets busy with family duties, work, and life. It’s really easy to disconnect and eventually grow apart.

Why You Should Date your Spouse:

Ben and I make a point to have a weekly date night. Time for just him and I, no kids, no work, no duties. It’s our time that we can enjoy each other and talk about what is going on in our lives. Spending time together keeps us emotionally connected, which helps with staying physically connected.

11 Free Date Ideas:

1. Bike ride– Taking a bike ride around the block is fine, but Searching out a fun bike path you maybe haven’t done makes it more special. Pack some snacks and stop for a little break to chat and Catch up.

2. Walk– I love a good walk. Research a fun walking path, pack a light meal and incorporate a picnic.

3. Picnic– Pack a picnic and head to the Park or scenic area, take in the view, and have a meal.

4. Pool or spa –  if you have one or have a community pool-make a charcuterie board and cocktails and enjoy some time together poolside. 

5. Go for a drive– One of my husband’s favorite things is to take a Sunday drive.  Depending on the time of the year, we’ll hop in the convertible, play some tunes and check out some new scenery. 

6. Cook -a new recipe together 

7. Coffee and chat– make coffees (tea), sit on the porch or deck, and catch up.

8. Home Spa day– hubbies can have home facials too. Pull out your Beauty products and give each other facials.

9. Hike– pack a picnic and go for a hike. It’s easy to find ones in your area. Google is your friend. In Utah, we like these four, depending on the level we’re feeling that day. 1. Water Fall canyon 2. Skyline trail 3. Ogden River Parkway trail 4. Wind Cave Trail

10. Concert– You say concerts aren’t free? Yes, a lot of areas have free concerts. It just takes a little google search. Live in Utah?  Snowbasin has Blue, Brews & BBQ, and Music in the mountains at Powder Mnt. , Silly Sundays Park City, and Canyons village Summer concerts, 

11. Movie night– pop some popcorn, grab a drink get comfy, and watch a movie you’ll enjoy. 

 

Think of where you live. Are you close to the beach, a lake, wildflower fields, scenic roads, and rivers? All of these beautiful surroundings make for a great free date spot.

5. Linen pants = The perfect Summer pant would have to be linen pants. They say coastal, with a beachy feel. Styled with a tee/tank and denim jacket can take you from shopping to brunch. Effortless and chic for Spring. My favorite pairs are HERE|HERE

 

 

6. Bodysuit= Makes for a perfect layered look and no bulk. I love these bodysuits with built-in bras.

8. Button up chambray or White Gauze | Linen| Stripe = Perfect to wear over a dress, paired with shorts or linen pants. Worn open with bodysuit under or worn buttoned up 1/2 tucked in. You really can go wrong with a good button-up. 

 

 

9. Maxi dress= I love this Soma| Maxi with Built-in Bra or This Evereve dress| Dress them up or wear casual to the beach.

My mom made this Strawberry shortcake every Easter (and during Strawberry season growing up). It was always a favorite🍓🌿🍰  Now, I do the same for my family. I think your family will love this easy strawberry shortcake recipe as much as our family does. Easy recipe below:

Printfresh Pj's and My Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Strawberry Shortcake Recipe:

You’ll love this easy Strawberry Shortcake recipe, and so will your family. It’s so easy and oh so good. 

You’ll need:

-2 packs of strawberries (cut up into small slices)

-1 small basket of strawberries washed and the tops removed (for garnish). I like a sprig of mint too.

-1 cup of sugar

-pound cake, angel food cake, or fruit snack cake cups (we like the cake cups or Pound cakes.)

In a large bowl, add cut-up strawberries and sugar, let sit to get juicy, then with a masher, smash up strawberries into a mixture of chunky strawberries & juice. 

Homemade whipping cream:

-Heavy whipping cream (Cold) (depends on how many I am serving to what size pint, quart) 

-Powdered sugar 

Whip heavy cream with a mixer until stiff peaks, and slowly add powdered sugar until the sweetness you like. ( we like a little sweet, not too sweet) 

Assemble Strawberry Shortcake:

Take a cake, layer the strawberry juice and a dollop of Whip cream and then layer a cake and repeat strawberries and top with whip cream and garnish with a couple of large berries and mint. Enjoy.

I am sharing my love for Anthropologie, Neutrals, and my Good friend Shauna from Chic over 50 today on the blog. Shauna and I both love Anthro, yet we couldn’t be so different, she loves a lot of colors, and I love neutrals, she petite and I am tall.  We thought it would be fun to take two pieces, a chambray top and a pair of Mother’s jeans, and style them two ways… Her way and My way and on two different body types. Hello Pretty Ladies, I have shared with you that we are getting ready to list our home and researching ways to make the processes easier and faster. Here are “7 Ways To Get Your Home Sell-Ready” Put on your seatbelts – we are going on a crazy ride! Selling your home right now is a great idea financially, but it can also be very overwhelming to do. You might be wondering, “where do I even start?” I’m here to help! Here are a few ways to get your home sell-ready:

Fix any issues

First up: fix any issues before you consider listing them. You could tackle this two ways: only fix the issues that are very apparent (like holes in the walls) so that prospective buyers are more attracted to the home and make a better offer. Or fix as many issues (seen and unseen) that you know of to have a better inspection report come back. I prefer only to tackle sight seen issues because once you get the inspection report back, they will make repair requests…and even if you fix a lot beforehand, you WILL have things that pop up on your inspection, so you might as well fix only what you have to unless there is an actual serious issue that could deter buyers.

 

Meet with your agent and figure out a price

Once you prepare your home, your next step is to meet up with your agent (if you are using one!) to figure out a price. Right now, prices are wild, and it can be tough to know what price you should list your home at, so I recommend trusting a real estate agent that knows what they are doing. Of course, you want the most bang for your buck, and pricing it yourself could land you a bad deal. However, at the end of the day, any deal that YOU think works for you is a good deal.

7 Ways To Get Your Home Sell-Ready

Get everything deep cleaned.

Right before your listing goes on the market, you will want to declutter, de-personalize, and get your home deep cleaned so that it shines and looks its best! Of course, if you don’t have the time for this or want it in tip-top shape, you could always hire this out. Professional cleaners have the potential to do WONDERS when it comes to making your home look (and smell) great! This is definitely a must before letting people into your home when they are making a potentially life-changing offer.

 

Post your home on Facebook

When everything is live, go ahead and post your listing on Facebook. You could even post before your home goes live to gain traction and potentially get an off-market deal. However, doing this runs the risk of you getting less money overall because when it is on the market right now, you will (without fail!) have a bidding war, which will up the total price you get for the sale of your home. Nevertheless, posting on Facebook is always a great thing to quickly get people in the door!

 

Negotiate once you have a potential buyer

Once you have found a buyer, it’s time for negotiations! Everything can be negotiated, so don’t leave anything on the table. At the end of the day, it’s a seller’s market, and you have the option to get back-up offers, just in case something falls through. During negotiations, be kind, but make sure you are not bending to make an unreasonable request. This is the hardest part. You’ve got this!

 

Find a new home

Once you get through the hardest part, it’s not time for the fun! Finding a home of your own! Make your list of what you need and what you want, then set up an official home search. To make a competitive offer in this market, talk with your agent. With a lot of homes, they are moving quickly, and they are only willing to accept the best offer with a clean contract. Keep that in mind when house hunting, but make sure you don’t settle for something less than great!

 

Move!

Last but not least, the final step in this entire process is moving! This can be overwhelming and stressful, and nobody LOVES to do it themselves. To take care of that, hire it out instead. There are great companies out there that can help you with the moving process – like Movin’.
