I hope your weekend was a good one. We had a busy one, which seems to be the norm for this summer. Can you believe it’s August, with School starting soon and fall just around the corner? I am working on a little August porch refresh, a little late summer look without decorating for Fall just yet. I plan on doing that in September first, to give you inspo without being too early. Don’t worry, I will be sharing Fall items in my cart, as well as items I think are worthy to grab for your home that will sell out.

Speaking of a little Pre-Fall, if you’ve been part of my tribe for a while, you know I am a big Fan of Social Threads. I love the brands they carry, as there are several I used to carry when I owned my boutiques. I trust them and love the quality, and the prices are affordable . Great quality, even better fit. I think I am crushing on an understated balloon sleeve | How darling and chic is this solid knit bubble-sleeve lightweight sweater?

I love a lightweight jacket in the Fall and in the Spring. This En Cream Quilted Jacket is the perfect layering piece. It adds texture, yet is classic and a piece you wear on repeat for years.

Leopard is still trending for Fall (thank goodness). Really, it’s a classic, and I won’t ever stop wearing it. I love a good leopard cardigan, and I am not afraid to say I own several. If you’re in need of a new leopard cardigan or need to add a piece you’ll cherish for years to come, I’d add this one to your collection.

The sweater every wardrobe needs: Blu Ivy Slouch Neck Dolman sleeve sweater. I own this sweater in 3 colors and have worn it year after year. It’s soft, fits so well, and looks great with every jean style, trousers, and over a dress for a sweater-skirt look. It’s a wardrobe staple that I am glad to see is always restocked. I wear the Sm/med size, which is true to size.

Shoes

The sneaker you’ll wear: on repeat Sasha Sneaker | Quick grab it while you can on sale. Comfy, low profile, and wearable year-round.

Tokyo Loafer| Loafers are still trending, yet always a classic, especially if you’re a preppy style girl. Comes in two colors, comfy and a great price for the quality.

Jeans

Risen Jeans are truly a go-to affordable jean under $80; they come in several styles, fit great, are good-quality denim, and have stretch. I am not embarrassed to say I own over a dozen styles, from cropped to wide leg. The Scottie large cuff is one of my favorites and my number one selling jean year after year.

A Free People cardigan or Sweater… It’s a great time to get Free People on Sale; they always have a good selection, and I always find one that is classic and can build my wardrobe with it every Year! (This is this Year’s Sweater pick.)

A new coat again; it’s the best time to pick up designer pieces that are hard to find on Sale. This is this Year’s pick: Ralph Lauren plaid Trench coat.

Donna Karen’s cashmere deodorant. I have used this for 30 years and love it! 1 box lasts for the whole Year! Smells great and works

A Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasma set. I love Charlotte T, and this is one of the only times of the Year to grab on Sale!

The BEST moisturizing lotion by Kiehl’s; it’s so rich and creamy, really moisturizes your skin, and again, only time of the Year to grab this big size at this price.

I grabbed “this year’s” Steve Madden mule. It’s a go-to everyday shoe I can wear with everything! All Year long! I want this one too! Loving this Year’s gold buckle detail, and comes in two colors!

If I could only pick 12 things… well, 6 of them I buy every Year… shown above. Plus, what’s actually in my cart…I will add later this week…

Affordable denim that feels like premium denim

Itty bitty Denim by Wit and Wisdom is one of my all-time favorite denims. I have several pairs and washes; it’s flattering, comfortable, and so affordable and BEST priced for the Sale at $60. Another affordable high-quality denim that has been a favorite for years and one of my best sellers when I owned boutiques is KUT from the KLOTH. They make A BODY STYLE THAT FITS AND LOOKS GOOD ON EVERY FIGURE. (You need to find the body style that suits your figure, and once you do, you can buy that style for every season, and it will always fit properly.) Catch up Friday, A Few thoughts, Favorites & Trend Spotting

Hello Pretty Ladies,

I hope you had a great week. It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and really caught up with you. My year has been crazy, with taking care of my mom, my melanoma journey, and becoming a grandma (COCO). Along with the heaviness of the world, my head and little world have been spinning. Today, I thought I’d do a little brain dump and life update/catch-up.

Week Recap:

My week was a little shorter than usual because I had a long weekend away for some work and girl time in California. It’s always a good time to catch up with friends, Shop, and enjoy the California coast. Road tripping with my mom, visiting my good friend Gina, and catching up with girlfriends I met on the gram and have become friends over the years, and annually we meet in Beverly Hills at Madison Masion (a shoe brand we all work with) for a lovely event.

This year we enjoyed a full day, checking out all the New arrivals and product launches at Madison Madison, then Drinks and appetizers at Wally’s before we headed to Spago’s for Dinner. We had so much fun, we didn’t get home until Midnight! It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed out that late.

Mixing work and Friendship over 50 feels so different. It’s intentional, joyful, and uplifting. When you do what you love and surround yourself with people who understand your work and support and encourage you, it is refreshing. Whether like-minded or with different views, we love and respect each other enough to have discussions without judgment.

On My Mind

In today’s heavy world, everything is judged, and everything you say or don’t say can somehow be controversial! How sad is that? Why is everyone so sensitive? Should we feel wrong to believe the way you wish? Why does it have to be so divided? I truly believe Most people want love, love their families, want a safe, loving home, clean food and air, and what’s best for our children. So much Evil. I wish we could go back to simpler times, and I feel many others are on the same page.

Something about being over 50: You learn you can truly pick and choose who you surround yourself with, and you can create the life you want and understand how to create peace in the chaos. We understand we can’t control everything, but we can control ” our little world.” For me, my faith is a big part of what guides my choices and how I live my life. I hope that shows through what I share and how I react to what’s going on around me.

Health Update:

3 Months since my Melanoma surgery, and yesterday I had my 2nd Co2 laser surgery. Right now, we are concentrating on the scar tissue underneath, which will also help with the couple of spots puckering.

The laser process is only about 10 minutes. You use numbing cream about an hour beforehand, which helps; it does “smart” a little, but not horribly. The doctors did say, “You have a high pain tolerance?” After it’s a little hot, I take a few Ibuprofen, and you keep Aquaphor on it for 24 hours. It does bleed, ooze, scab over, and get messy. I will look like this for about 5 days.

The Care:

For the next 4 to 5 days, you use a genital cleanser, then a vinegar soak for 10 minutes a day. It looks scabby and pretty ugly. Hopefully, it will look better than before. I know to follow the process, and I’ve been told that after 1 year, I won’t even see the scar. Praying that’s the case, but honestly, I am thankful this was my journey; although difficult, it’s much easier than chemo. I am thankful for God’s blessings and continue to pray as I have my 3-month skin check-up in a couple of weeks.

Affordable Walmart Holiday Finds & Black Friday Details

Happy Monday and week of Thanksgiving. We are officially kicking off the Holiday season this week, which means the Super Bowl of Sales has begun. Holiday decorating is in full swing, and people’s social calendars are filling up.
