Hello Pretty Ladies,

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you have a beautiful day being celebrated. Today, I’m sharing what I’ll wear to church and brunch with the family, along with a little Mother’s Day message.

My greatest accomplishment is the family we’ve built. Not only the children I birthed, whom I am so proud of and thank God every day for. But also the home we opened up to others. The family came from friends, and the children we’ve been so blessed to have.

A Family is something you build, not something you’re given. Having a whole home, feeding others, opening our hearts, and being a safe space brings immense joy. I am grateful every day for those in our lives and a part of our “FAMILY,” it makes my mama heart happy🤍🤍🤍

Mother’s Day can be hard for some, with their mamas no longer with them or having difficulty becoming one on their own🙏🏻🤍 My heart goes out to you! You’ll be in my prayers🙏🏻

Celebrate Mother’s Day In NYDJ and Your Mom

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Can you believe we’re at the end of April and heading into May? That happened so fast! I’ve had a lot going on since the beginning of the year, and I’m finally starting to feel like I’m seeing the light. With May starting tomorrow, that means Mother’s Day is just 10 days away, on Sunday, May 11th. I haven’t made any plans yet, but I’m looking forward to finally getting my pots and garden planted, as Mother’s Day marks the start of the growing season in Utah, when it’s safe to grow without a major freeze. Hallelujah!

Two basics you’ll want to add to your wardrobe, you’ll style so many ways and wear on repeat! The prettiest shade of pink Laren button-up top in beautiful silk. Fits true to size; I am in the small. Paired with NYDJ Light wash, slightly barrel jean, the leg isn’t too barrel that it’s a great width if you’ve been wanting to try but don’t want it to be rounded-denim in a size 4, I would say, size down, these are a little too big on me, I needed the size 2.. but super comfy and a great relaxed fit. (That Jean, you would wear every day)

A Walmart find: raffia/straw loafer with a horse-bit detail, true to size, and under $30. Paired with a gold metallic belt.

My Mom’s OutfitNYDJ’s

The oversized shirt boasts a stylish denim look, but it’s crafted from cool and breezy lyocell, which lends it a lightweight drape. Tailored menswear details, from a point collar to long sleeves with button cuffs to a back yoke, keep the design classic. I would Size Down in this top. Mom paired it wth these Mona Wide Leg Trouser Ankle Jeans, which also run one size smaller. She loved how comfortable this outfit is, and adored the shade of pink. It’s both our favorite color, in this shade.

As the weather gets warmer and spring rolls in, it’s always a good idea to switch things up and refresh your lifestyle. It can be something as simple as brightening up the dining table with a new springtime appetizer, such as tulip baguette bites. A previous post guides you through this easy-to-follow recipe that requires a few simple ingredients, including French baguette, cherry tomatoes, basil, chives, and spreadable cheese.

Aside from introducing new additions to your menu, springtime presents the perfect opportunity to update your wardrobe. To start, you can experiment with the latest spring dress trends, ranging from a cherry red palette as a fashion statement to boho chic vibes characterized by flowy fabrics, ruffles, and fringes.

Whatever trend you plan to incorporate into your everyday look, it goes without saying that a spring outfit wouldn’t be complete without footwear. However, if you’re planning to be out and about this spring, it’s worth considering the ballet flats from luxury label Patou’s collaboration with Japanese sportswear brand Onitsuka Tiger. The flats blend Patou’s distinctive feminine style with the sleek playfulness of Onitsuka Tiger sneakers. Made of Nappa leather and available in a pink and black colorway, these shoes are ideal for springtime walks around the neighborhood.

Kitten heels

Lastly, those looking to add a more feminine touch to their wardrobes can opt for kitten heels, which help you look equally chic and comfortable with the slender, low-mid heel. Like the aforementioned sandals and ballet flats, kitten heels have been around for decades, popularized by the French fashion house Dior.

However, they’ve emerged in modern, reimagined styles in recent years, as seen in celebrities like Ariana Grande and Sydney Sweeney. Grande wore her white kitten heels with a bow detail and lacy tights, while Sweeney looked effortlessly stylish in a casual tee, mini skirt, and open-toed kitten heels from Miu Miu. As crazy as my year started, and with much time spent helping my mom move, I needed as much time as possible.

Her Townhouse was ready yesterday, and I’ll spend the next couple of weeks getting her settled in. Helping her decorate will be a fun project, and I’ll share some of that process with you as we go.
