Many of you know we lost my stepdad in January. He was the only grandfather my boys knew on my side and had been with my mom for 22 years. They live in Las Vegas, with no family living close by. I live in Utah, and my siblings live in California. This meant our mom was alone, with no family or husband. We had to act quickly to help my mom relocate, deal with family affairs, her health issues, and the emotions of the loss.
