Affordable Outfit Details & sharing a couple tip’s

Hello Beautiful’s! Today I wanted to share this fun little outfit I picked up for under $50 at Forever 21 while in Las Vegas with my mom! A Super cute pink stripe bell sleeve off the should top $17.99 and a black frayed hem mini skirt $28.99! I got the top in a Medium and I really needed a small, unfortunately they were sold out! For $18.00 I really thought it’s so cheap, it’s ok is a little big! Bell sleeves and ticking stripes are a huge trend right now! Who doesn’t love a deal! I normally don’t go into Forever 21 because the sizing is all over the place and the quality is 1 to 2 washing’s and it’s done…this is where my first tip comes in…

Tip: I have said it before purchasing very trendy items at a affordable price is smart! Trendy piece’s are normally just around for that season and then DONE! Why spend a lot of money on something that has very little closet time!

Down side to affordable/Cheap clothing is the quality is sometimes poor and the fit can run really small or in this case really big! So make sure to try on…This isn’t the place to shop if you don’t like to try on!

Tip: 2. I normally suggest wearing a affordable piece of clothing with a quality piece! BREAKING A RULE! Here I am wearing two affordable pieces and it works because the denim skirt looks like quality denim! Now I haven’t washed either item yet…So i’ll let you know!

Tip:3 While shopping affordable clothing shops look for items that the fabric feels good, seams are sewn well and buttons are secured with enough stitching. Helps items to last longer and gives a better over all appearance! I am not saying don’t purchase affordable clothing…I am just saying some are much better then other’s. Old saying is true “You do get what you pay for!’

Tip:4 My favorite place’s to get a Bargain but on designer brands are TG Max & Nordstrom Rack… Quality at a steel, WELL sometimes!

Shades= Not just any shades, cool summer shades in fun shapes! Summer’s the time to have fun and branch out, play with shapes and tinted lens! TIP: buy affordable & cheap shades to experiment with! (jumping into the lake with $300 sunglasses is no fun!) Save your expensive shades for driving, shopping and dining…You get the picture!
Face Sun screen =Eminence powder spf 30 sun screen is a face saver! I purchased this from my dermatologist a couple of years ago and I have not used another product since. This is an amazing product! No oil, protects against the harsh sun while giving you a little powder coverage! AMAZING purchase here and here
Toner water= Eau Roma Water by Lush is a perfect refresher on a hot Summer day! Helps keep the skin hydrated and refreshed. I can’t sit outside with out it!

Happy Tuesday Beautiful’s! This Topic has been weighing on me for awhile now and I decided it’s time to share! Social Media is ALL about the latest and greatest! Current trends and everyone always trying to sell you something! I don’t want you to feel like I am always try to sell you something, I want for you to think of me as a resource, A person you can trust and get advise from! Now…I get a lot of messages and text as to where I got something or what brand, So I will always list links to what I am sharing or maybe something like it to make it easier for you. If I am working with a company it is truly because I love it and am honored to collaborate with them!

As A girl that has always loved FASHION and yes making sure I was on TREND and current, I never felt you had to clear out your closet or Always buy NEW! (Now I am not saying never clean out your closet!)I mean to start Fresh every season…. For most that just isn’t available with the budget! I like to stress to my clients spend your money on classics and buy the affordable Trendy pieces! Classics are just that CLASSIC…classic pieces will last you forever and stay IN forever or come back IN…in a couple years! This White leather jacket to me is a classic staple piece. It’s a piece that you can have for years and bring it in and out of your wardrobe with nobody guessing it’s age! ( Mines 8 years old) Classic pieces are worth spending good money on when you divide it by the years of use it becomes pennies! Expensive pieces fit better and really do wash and wear 10x better (one of the reasons they last so long!) Purchasing new is fun and buying Trendy pieces for the season helps keep your Classic pieces looking NEW and on trend!

Breaking down how you can make your OLD pieces look new… Here I am Not wearing anything Newer then 9 months…. My distressed Jeans are 9 months old, my Shoes and necklace are 2 years old or older and my numbered tee is over 4 years old! Nothing NEW… But this outfit still looks on Trend….Why, well if you break it down I am wearing a classic leather jacket, number and Vintage tee’s always look chic, A fun pair of embroidered heels dress up any outfit! Now Embroidery is Hot hot hot this season….Let me tell you it comes and goes on the trend alert but I have some very beautiful and expensive embroidered pieces I’ll never get tired of, I love them and that is a key to buying… I might not wear for a couple of seasons but that embroidery always comes back around… Distressed jeans have been HOT for a couple of seasons Now, these keep the outfit on the Chic side! When I find A jean I like a do buy a couple pairs, you can normally tweak your jean collection to be on trend. A snip here or a hem here or fray the hem…etc! My statement necklace… Statement necklaces aren’t a huge trend right Now. (I really kept this because it matched the shoes perfectly!) but the big pop of color really works with this outfit and adds a fun element!

Happy when I can look in my closet and pull clothes together that can make a ON TREND outfit with not a lot of NEW! Trends come and go so make sure it’s something you love…You’ll get years of use out of it!

Tuesday’s Tip=Shorter shorts after 40

Tip: Switching your shoes from a wedge to a flat give a totally different feel to the outfit! Went from Date night outfit to Lunch or shopping!

Tuesday’s Tip= Wearing shorter shorts after 40!

Let’s face it as we age our body and skin changes. Some people say you can’t wear shorter shorts after 40! I feel if you have great legs or work hard to stay fit go for it!

I have some tips for wearing shorter shorts after 40 to stay classy and not like your trying to look 20!

Use A great self Tanner, It helps hide flaws and Tan legs look great in shorts! Sorry and I know I’ll get flack for saying it but white legs are just a NO in your 40’s in shorter shorts! In your younger years you could get away with anything! Not now…Get a great self tanner! See my favorites in my prior blog post…self tanner’s

Shorter shorts means a 5 inch inseam NOT a 3 inch cheek showing short! I don’t care how great your body is leave the 3 inch booty shorts to the teenagers!

To keep your outfit balance and too not look like your going clubbing don’t wear a sexy top with shorter short! Yes.. I am wearing a off the shoulder top but its chambray and has a feel of day time.

Wear a wedge it lengthens the leg and really does give the appearance of toner legs.

Pilates and the elliptical really do keep your legs in great shape!

I am really lucky and never really had an issue with cellulite (stretch marks yes!) I am not sure as to why not, I have read its a inherited trait but my tip would be I use coconut oil everyday in the shower after drying off! I also exfoliate my body with a sugar scrub every week!

I hope your age doesn’t stop you from feeling like you can’t dress the way you want! You can be chic and fashionable at every age! OX, D’Arcy

Way to Wear Wednesday = 7 ways to wear a Denim Jacket

Happy Wednesday Beautiful ladies! Do you have a denim jacket? If not you really should. I feel it is one basic piece everyone should own. I personally have Multiple denim jackets in different washes.

Here I am showing you 7 different way’s you can wear your denim jacket besides the normal Tee shirt and Jeans or with basic shorts.

Wear with a Lace or Floral Romper to dress it down or give it sass.
It looks great with a tight jersey or form fitting dress.
Paired with tulle, it dresses it down, as to not look as if your headed to a party.
Wear with a pencil or tulip skirt. Darling with an Aline as well. I love denim with skirts, I think it gives it edge.
Paring with Cargo skinny pants adds another texture to help define your outfit.
Worn with a maxi skirt gives a more laid back casual look!
One of my favorite ways to wear a denim jacket is with a floral or lace slip/cami dress and booties for a touch of country! Tip’s on purchasing a Denim jacket, buy a good quality one so it will last for years. Make sure its fitted and not boxy! (this is important for wearing with dresses and skirts) find the weight you like. I have a spring weight which is light enough for Spring/summer and a heavier weight for fall/winter. If it your first denim jacket make sure you love the wash and it will work with a bunch of what you already own. I like Lighter wash for All my Spring/Summer clothes and Medium wash for Fall/Winter. (Kut form the Kloth Denim jackets are my personal favorite! They Fit amazing, wash up awesome and have a bunch of washes seasonally !) Staying on The Right track….Life’s track

Life’s Track….Let’s face it life has us going in multiple directions and filling many shoes! Staying focused and keeping on track is hard! I found some simple way’s to help me stay focused, accomplish tasks and manage my time better to make sure I am staying on the right track!

I love list to keep me motivated. I am always writing… goals, prayers, dreams, thoughts and Ideas. Starting at the First of the Year I write a Big list for the Year…. Then I break it down into Months,weeks and even day’s. This helps me stay organized and also keeps the BIG picture attainable… More about this in my Prior post Monday motivation….I can look back and make sure I am on track for the Year!

A planner… not just a monthly planner but also has a daily calendar and note section. This is really helpful for time management. Having a place to store all of your appointments, schedule, kids schedules, meetings, deadlines, orders and social activities in one place keeps you organized and not over booked. Being able to look at a month at a glance helps you to be able to plan your week…. This keeps you focused while helping your time management skill’s. Take the little time it takes to plan your week and writing it down for daily tasks really helps. You can Account for what you need to get accomplished on a daily basis making the Big picture seem smaller while keeping you on track!

It’s important to note you might not get ALL your Daily task done, but checking off the ones you did get accomplished makes you feel good and shows progress! Now just take note of what you didn’t finished and make that a priority to finish tomorrow.

A little reminder I tell myself Daily….”Work Hard, Stay Motivated, Count your blessings and PRAY!” This helps me to Remember my Goals & dreams and with God ALL things are possible!

Don’t be discouraged by closed doors!

Today I am sharing with you some of my belief’s and little “pep talk’s” I give myself when a door closes or discouragement set in.

We all have goal’s and dreams and some times things just don’t go as we planned. Getting discouraged is really easy! I have had many doors close on me in my life that I just wanted to Prior OPEN!!! As I have gotten older I have learned to trust God. YES FAITH! “dare to BELIEVE” and the Right doors OPEN… The doors God has in store for you! Sometimes it’s not in our timing but in his! When I learned to trust God and Pray, Pray a lot! I noticed I didn’t get discouraged or disappointed when a door closed or even SLAMMED into my face! I realized something better was coming. (Now don’t stop trying and working towards those goal it’s not going to just get handed to you!) I believe a closed door is God’s way of protecting you from taking the wrong path…A bigger and better door will OPEN!

Walt Disney was turned down by 300 banks before he got a loan to build Disneyland! Now…I don’t know if Walt believed in God but I do know he had FAITH in himself and determination to Build his dream! He did not give up! He had many doors close but finally the one he needed OPENED!

God has BIG plans for you trust him to guide you through the right doors. Remember God puts people in your life or in your path to help you! It’s ok not to do everything yourself. Draw strength from each other. “When we come together in faith, Great things happen!” I have to tell this to myself all the time! I am a control freak and want things done correct or My way….So I end up doing it ALL by myself to be assured it’s DONE and done correct! Draw strength from each other it’s ok to let go sometimes!

When we come together in faith, great things happen!

Sometimes the reminder of reaching your Highest Potential is Put God first and allow the people he puts in your path to help you to OPEN more doors!

Trust in yourself, BELIEVE in yourself, work hard, follow your dreams and let God be your guide…Your doors will OPEN!

Become who God created you to be….

Tuesday’s Tip: Gym Motivation

Tuesday’s tip is a couple of way’s I stay Motivated to go to the gym!

1= I lay out my Gym clothes the night before… I know that sounds crazy but it really does help me. Plus you save time in the morning when your tired and hurrying to get the kids off to school!

2=I go right after I drop my son off at school! Then my day doesn’t get away from me. If I wait…Other things become more important!

3= Starting my day off right… with a workout just feels better! Even on mornings I just don’t feel like it…once I am done I was glad I did it!

4=Summer is coming!!! Well maybe we do live in UTAH!

5=Knowing I am burning 500/600 calories….FOOD I love food!

6= Cute workout clothes help to keep me motivated…”Treat yourself to a new outfit when you reach a goal?”

7=I feel much better when I work out! I remind myself of this because it’s easy to skip a workout then you skip 2 or 3 then all of a sudden you’ve stopped for a month or two!

8= Being over 40…It’s true your body changes and staying active really does help gravity and health.

I could list a few more but I think you get the point I need a lot of Motivation to get to the gym! I would rather lay in bed with a cup of tea and scroll through instagram! OXOXOX, D’Arcy

Happy May day Beautiful’s!

A New Month can mean a fresh start or for me a look at my progress on my goals. I take joy in looking back on my list’s to see my little victories. I love list to keep me motivated. I am always writing… goals, prayers, dreams, thoughts and Ideas. Starting at the First of the Year I write a Big list for the Year…. Then I break it down into Months,weeks and even day’s. This helps me stay organized and also keeps the BIG picture attainable… Taking little steps along the way allows you to see your making progress and helps keep you motivated. I truly believe if you don’t see process you become frustrated and can let your dreams and goals slip away.

Another way I stay motivated is reading these few quotes daily…

Tuesday Tip: Prepping outfit’s for your week…

Happy Tuesday Tip Day!

Are you a busy mom or Career Girl or heck Both?

Today I wanted to Share with you one of MY time saving tricks. Just like Meal prep…It takes a little time but is a huge pay off when its done. Not to mention the amount of time saved… standing in your closet STARING at your clothes! BEEN there?

First= Look up the weather for the week… This allows you to organize the correct types of outfits for your week. Here in Utah you can go from Winter to Summer in A day! (I do my Outfit prep on Sunday)

Second= Look up your schedule for the week. This allows you to see if you need other outfits besides your normal work day outfits. (date night, bridal or baby shower, Special meeting, Church or event etc.)

Third= Have a space you can Hang them… A spot in Your closet, a garment hook, clothing rack or Garment rack. I have a clothing rack Shown above that holds about 8 organized outfits. You can Find RACK here. This rack is affordable and takes up very little space. It can even fit in most peoples walk in closet. I use these for my clients closets, perfect for a their weeks worth of outfits.

Now for the fun part… Assembling your outfits! I like to put everything you need for the outfit on the Hanger. Top, Bottom and accessories. I then pick out what shoes and bags go with each outfit. ( If the bag is a clutch or small bag I hang that on hanger as well.) I then line all the outfits on rack according to the week, line up shoes underneath. (If I am doing this for a customer I take a picture of outfit all the pieces and clip to the hanger) This process can take 1-2 hours depending on how fast you are at looking at your clothes and mixing it up. I promise you it’s worth the time prepping your Clothes for the Week! If you haven’t done this before…You’ll be thanking me:)

Now….You’ll have all this extra time in your week! What will you do with it?
