Friday Date Night Shoe’s

Here’s a peak at some of My Favorite’s!

It’s no secret That I love shoe’s! Who doesn’t love a pretty high heel? Well … some of you love a high heel you just don’t wear them or buy them! Why not I ask? To tall? Can’t walk in them? Hurt your feet? Why do I say “Friday date night?” Like that’s the only time you can wear a high heel!

Well I have answer’s for ALL of the above…

To tall? I am 5’9 1/2 and my hubby is only 6ft so a lot of the time I am taller specially if I fall in love with too high of a heel! Tip buy ones that are a lower heel or a kitten heel.

Can’t walk in them? I can thank my Beauty pageants & modeling day’s for this, but Yes it takes practice and YES you need to walk confident and proud in heels so Please if you can’t…just practice with them on while at home doing chores and I promise you’ll get the hang of it! Tip: wedges are an easy high heel to walk in! Go with a lower heel. Also A open toe is harder to walk in so for you Not confident ones, wear close toed heels…(your toes won’t slide to the front and try to grab your shoe as your walking!)

Hurt your feet? Well that’s why I stated Friday night Date shoes! You can wear pretty heeled shoes that you don’t have to stand to long in and your not in them ALL day! Tip: You can purchase clear gel toe & heel pads and fab rub on stick that help keep your feet out of pain. My picks are here:

Friday Date night shoe’s?… I explained a little above, plus I really like a good excuse to buy pretty shoes that I don’t wear on a daily basis but really want to own them! I LOVE pretty Shoes! On a Serious note… My hubby and I always felt its important to have time together, making a once a week date night is important to us! I love to get dressed up & look good for him (and myself)even if it is only dinner and I am going to wear jeans….You can always wear a great pair of heels that makes the outfit! NOW go buy those shoes!!!

The perfect Transition Piece for Spring

Spring! It’s almost here….

I don’t know about you but It’s been a long and hard Winter! Too many grey and snowy day’s for my liking! I am excited for our day’s getting longer & warmer and the Sun starting to shine! It’s also means it’s time to change over the closet to Items that have pretty colors and lighter fabrics! In Utah it can still be chilly (heck we can get snow in June!) I found A perfect Transition sweater! Its a light weight sweater that can be worn as a tunic it is super soft, has the cutest lattice back in the prettiest shade of Dusty Pink! A perfect piece for transitioning from the multi layers of Winter to the minimal layers of Spring. You could add a light weight jacket if needed.

Have you ever wondered how to wear a Satin Bomber/ Baseball jacket without looking sporty or to young? Well I hope I am showing you a fun way you can wear one. Mine is a concert Band version showcasing one of my favorite Bands AC/DC! YES… I am a Rocker girl! Flash back to 80’s hair bands ( I am showing my age:) and proud of it!) Let’s talk age a minute…You can look cool, on trend at over 40 and NOT look like your trying to be a teenager! I get asked about this subject a lot and I am going to touch on this subject quite a bit on my blog… Dressing Trendy or with a couple of Trendy pieces does NOT mean you have to look like your daughter! It means you can look fashionable and put together (“with it”..as my mom say’s) Let’s face it, it does help you to look younger & not frumpy but dressing in Style doesn’t mean YOUTH! Stylish people are not just 20 year old’s they come in ever age and size, Just because your over 40 doesn’t mean you have to wear mom jeans and frumpy tops…. Now that I have touched a little on the age thing ( I promise A Post on Chic mom’s is coming) Let’s talk why this outfit works!

This outfit works because I am not wearing a baseball cap ( all though it would be cute!) To youthful for this outfit if your trying to pull off Chic…” Chic Rocker girl was my goal” Statement jewelry helps add to the Chic element , Simple jewelry would make it look basic…We want a WOW! The jeans although trendy, every age can wear patches their super fun and add whimsy plus their great fitting and have a ton of stretch. Stripped tee is a classic! All ages and body types can wear stripes its just on how you wear or layer as to not make them add width…Nobody wants to look wider! Here the jacket helps break up the stripes. Statement boots- I love shoes this isn’t news to anyone! I think a great pair of Statement shoes (like a statement necklace or earrings) can make the outfit! These studded boots don’t disappoint just finishes off the outfit.

Let the Party Begin

This Past weekend we celebrated our 21st Wedding anniversary. We celebrated over the weekend with a little mini getaway. Friday night dinner at our Favorite restaurant Twigs and a night in a Hotel with Saturday brunch followed by a Full spa day 5 1/2 hours of pure pampering it was delightful! Saturday night We had A Las Vegas themed Party to attend so it was a full weekend of DRESS Up! I thought I would share with you the two dress up outfits I wore. Hoping you get inspired for the next time you have a fun cocktail party or Special occasion.

Look 1 was for the Las Vegas Party! I went with a look perfect for a cocktail party. I love how the Sparkle neckline folds under the flowy front drape. Dress by, Adrianna Papeli (Nordstrom) Shoes Badgley Mischka (Nordstrom)

Outfit 2 = Dinner and drinks with my man! I went with a sexy and chic little black dress by Norma Kamali (Nordstrom) I love that you can dress this up even more or even wear it as a tunic! Boots (Colin Stuart) Pairing this with gold accessories gives it a CHIC feel instead of wearing bling, which would give it a dressier feel!

Saturday Style 4 Spring trends

Happy Weekend! I thought it would be fun to showcase some fun Spring trends on my Saturday style’s segment. I have Picked out What I Believe will be 15 HUGE Spring Trends (talked about on Thursday’s blog post) Each Saturday from now until April I’ll be featuring some of these fun trends that woman of all ages can incorporate into their wardrobe.

Saturday’s have a tendency to be casual and one of Springs biggest TREND is the Boyfriend jean. The Boyfriend jean is normally a little looser, worn more on the hip and Almost always distressed. This jean is a more casual fit and is designed to look like your wearing your boyfriends jean. Don’t get me wrong you can dress this jean up, with heals,lace floral etc. As for my style I have a tendency to grab this pair on the weekends. This jean can be worn at any age and looks great with every shoe. TIP Don’t wear with a flowy top, baggy jeans look better with less fabric on top. I have paired this with a top that combines 2 Spring TRENDS, the lace up top and stripes. The lace up has been big for a couple of seasons and it isn’t going anywhere. I love the pastel cording, its a fun detail. To finish of my casual Saturday look I Paired it with a Over sized Bag= Trend 4, Spring fedora and a pair on Tennis shoes. (you could wear a flip flop,wedge or even pump) to change the look up a bit.

We’re Celebrating Our Anniversary this weekend and I wanted to share with you some fun Gift Ideas for a Anniversary or a Bridal shower. This would also be perfect for a Wedding night.

The Robe/Kimono and romper are from Victoria Secrets. I love the soft color of light blush and the lace detail on the Kimono, this could also be worn with jeans and a tank to go out it. I love things you can get multi use out of. Romper’s are all the rage in and out of the bed room! I love the playfulness of a romper, the color of soft pink is just one of my favorite’s. I am in love with Prosecco by Lamarca, $12-17 a bottle. It’s a yummy sparkling wine with the fun feel of champagne! ( I do not love Champagne but I love the Idea of champagne!) Pop open a bottle and add some fresh berries and a splash of your favorite juice! YUM!

Statement earring are making a huge come back for Spring and these beauties got me from JCrew $79.00 Makes for a beautiful Bridal gift. I love wearing pretty jewelry for a special night even if it’s with lingerie.

My Hubby and I are celebrating 21 years on February 25th and I truly feel blessed to have found my match for life. I adore the man I married and he still makes my heart flutter. When I saw these Dish towels it wasn’t even a thought…they flew into my cart $7.99 at HomeGoods. The hubby & wifey glasses $3.99 each TGmax (both would make a cute bridal shower gift)

15 Top Spring Trends

15 Spring Trends for 2017
Boyfriend jeans, Shark bite jeans, 1 shoulder tops, off the shoulder, lace up & stripe tops, Ruffle sleeve top, wedge, pendant necklaces, statement earrings, over sized bags, romantic Fabrics, soft colors, Slogan tee’s and Rompers are my 15 TOP Spring items to be shopping for this Spring.

All These items are hitting shops and magazines as Market season is coming to an end and Spring is coming upon us. I am excited for a lot of these trends, as there easy to wear at every age and for every body type. It’s always fun to add NEW to your wardrobe and dress up some items you already own.

So with that said it’s getting time to clean out our closets, store our winter items and save items that can transition into Spring. (A post on what items transition well next Thursday)

White Jeans and Wedge Sandal Wednesday

Wednesday already! I am sure you all love a short week like I do.

Today I wanted to talk to about White jeans…I know some of you are afraid of White jeans! You don’t have to be there is a White jean for every body type. One of the reasons I LOVE Kut from the Kloth jeans. They make a body style (named after girls for every body type) Plus super affordable $79-89 a pair. They fit true woman sizing 0-14 so order your size or a size tight because they stretch.

Catherine= A boyfriend jean, which is loose fitting, cropped and fits at hip. Perfect for someone who doesn’t want tight on legs or bum. (I am modeling this fit in photo)

Mia= a ultra skinny leg & tight fit but has a ton of stretch (this is the body style I most always am wearing due to my skinny legs.) This jean works great in a boot and is perfect for someone with skinny legs or that loves a tight fit.

Diana= skinny jean but on most I feel this jean is more of a straight leg. Its not super tight (does not show cellulite) and works on everybody type. Has a touch higher waist but not a mom jean. The Diana is there BEST seller.

Natalie= is a flared leg jean for those who don’t feel they can rock a skinny jean. Also great on a long leg.

Kut from the Kloth has about 6 other body types named after girls as well. I just did my top fav’s.

All of these body types come in white and can be worn on any size figure. So if you are hesitant about wearing white jeans, please try a pair of Kut from the Kloth’s you’l love and be so happy you did.

Reasons to own a pair of white jeans…… There classic & crisp and go with everything! You can wear year round but are an essential piece for Spring & Summer! A white jean is very chic! You’ll be seeing me in a ton in the months ahead!

Now that I hope I have convince you to buy a pair of white jeans lets talk about the strap wedge sandal or wedge ankle strap sandal (I am wearing the strap wedge in this shot) in camel color. Its a must have wedge, you can stand all day in it. You won’t kill yourself if your not a heal wearer and its a classic color that goes with everything. This wedge style can go with shorts, jeans, dresses and skirts. Its a shoe that is Huge on the Spring Trend list but I feel it really is a classic. Every designer is making this shoe so you can find it anywhere from $35-350 depending on the designer. Mine where $39 at Chic Style Utah last year with a close look alike coming in soon.

Re-thinking the Traditional Holiday red & green for this years Holiday Color💕 it’s ok not to do the traditional colors and decorate & wear colors that make you happy. Pale pink is my favorite color, I think it makes for a fun Holiday color, Soft, looks pretty with fresh greenery and perfect in Snow. Nothing like a big cozy sweater in your favorite color to help you enjoy the cooler weather and enjoy the Holiday festivities . Branch out and choose a color that makes you look and feel good😘
