While we all have STAY at HOME orders, we are being faced with having to care for our beauty routines ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I love having my hair, nails, eyebrows done regularly. I also enjoy a facial. Now more then ever, we have to maintain ourselves in ways we usually don’t. You know I love an excellent self-care day…maintenance is a little different than touching up our roots, doing eyelash extensions, or applying a set of nails. Here are a few tricks and products that are coming to the rescue.

Blondes that are having a little trouble with roots, baby powder works excellent, sprinkle in a little at the roots and rub with fingers. Not only does it act as a dry shampoo and suck up oil, but it also helps cover darker roots. These root touch up sprays, washout, and can be used for any color hair! I am having Spring fever with all this rain and grey skies in Utah, I thought I would also share my latest “ready for Spring outfit” a fresh floral look I wore over the weekend and had tons of compliments on my jacket (that is over 20 years old!) It looks new because I really do only wear it a couple times every spring…It just screams SPRING with it’s bright colors and helps cure the blues! The colors make me happy and the large flowers reminds me of the 70’s which takes me back to my childhood! Are you guy’s getting Spring fever or Spring cleaning? I started Spring cleaning over the weekend as well as organizing to get ready to sell our home to down size (I shared some of my organizing in my instagram stories view in highlights) This is the longest we have lived in a house (12 years) in our 25 years together and we decided now is the time to sell and build our dream smaller house (I already started sketching) …. Just in time for Spring cleaning! Oh…the stuff I have collected over the last 12 years not to mention having owned 3 clothing stores….My props and seasonal items are out of control! So needless to say I have been working like crazy cleaning out, donating, organizing and down scaling (I’ll make sure to do a post on the whole house and every room before I de -personalize it)….I know some of you are saying “didn’t you just build your DREAM kitchen?” Yes..Yes I did and it took me years…and the counter tops go in a few day’s and I will share with you the finished product! It really is beautiful and I will miss not being able to enjoy it….sometimes that’s just the way live goes. Great things are always worth the wait!

As they say Spring is a fresh start….BOY are we getting them…. exciting things happening…..Our oldest is graduating college, I am starting a new career and we’re selling our home! Good things happen in 3’s:) I did have to keep telling my self this a couple of months ago when bad thing’s happened in 3’s & happing in our life… Every time I turned around something big was breaking…I would remind myself “good things are happening, good things are happening!” Stay positive in the mist of a storm! It’s hard to do a lot of the time, I just kept putting my faith in God and knowing he was putting us on the right path. Boy..Sometimes his timing just takes sooo long:) So as I sit here rambling on, know what ever is happening in your live good or bad there’s always a fresh path or a “Spring” start no matter the season.

Nail art, Manicures and mugs!

Today I thought I would share some of my nail art, manicures and some of my mug collection with you. If you have been following me for awhile on social media you know I love having cute nails and that I have an obsession with white, black and gold mugs. I have been collecting my manicure pictures for the last couple years with the idea of bringing you this post. It just so happened that several of my cute mugs I’ve been collecting also made it in. Seriously I can’t pass up cute mugs (my hubby joke’s we don’t need any more mugs! Although he’s the one that is always breaking my favorite ones!! (my Chanel mug…Missing)

My nail art over the years has been a mixture of Acrylic, Gel and nail polish. I have had 2 manicurist since moving to Utah 12 years ago. My First manicurist Sheridan I had for 10 years until she had to go and have babies! (cry) She did acrylic and hand painted the nail art. She is so talented and most of these photo’s is her work. I love how thin and natural she made the acrylic and I could throw any idea at her and she could paint it. My Manicurist now is Tiffany, she does gel nails and keeps my nails and toes looking clean, polished and natural looking with on trend colors. She really is about color and your natural shape nail and doesn’t do much nail art. Both of their style’s I love and am happy to have been able to have found manicurist that can give me the looks I want while keeping my nails healthy & stylish.

My Daily Make up Routine Verses My Special Event Make up

A peek into my make up bag! My daily routine takes me about 5 minutes to apply! I am pretty simple on a daily basis…Not that I don’t love make up… I do, I just don’t have a ton of time and I am not really fab at all the New tricks! (I don’t have a lot of Eye space to get creative with eye shadows either!) It might even be I am not very interested… I just have what works for me and I stick with it! My Basic Routine is as follows foundation, powder,blush, eyeliner, mascara, lip liner and lipstick! Done…

My evening out or party make-up…has a couple more steps…. I add highlighter, and eye shadow to the mix. I like to do a smoky eye for dress up so I will use a black eye liner verses my Brown (teddy by Mac).

Tuesday Tip Day: Weekly Beauty Routine

Do You Have a Weekly Beauty Routine? I am sure you have a Daily…. But do You have something YOU just do on a weekly basis to look and feel good? I sure do specially being over 40! I think I started this routine in my late 20’s maybe early 30’s! Somethings I learned form my mom and others I picked up on my own! I thought I would share with you some of my favorite tricks to help me look and feel good! Let’s face it when we take care of ourselves we feel good!OX

Body Scrub: I do a full body scrub once a week (the brand really doesn’t matter) you can even use the homemade version here I just love how it helps keep my skin soft! Remove’s the dead dry skin and helps give your skin a glow.

Coconut Oil: I use this on my skin every day in the shower! But once a week I use this as a hair mask… I grab a hand full or two, warm it up in my hands and rub on my scalp and all over my hair and wrap it up in a top knot or towel. I normally leave on for quite a long time depending on my schedule! Last week I left it on all day as I was doing DIY projects at home!

Face mask: Who wouldn’t love a professional facial every week!! I sure would but time and most people’s budget won’t allow it. So do a mini one at home. Again brand doesn’t matter I use what I have at Home. I am sure I have tried almost every brand over the years and really don’t have a favorite! I have bought full size of some brands and found I like the little trial ones to get different results! One of the reasons I get Birch Box & Ipsy is to try a new face mask (some month you don’t get a mask) I have built up a little collection though! Tip: If you ask at the Make up counter they’ll normally give you one! I never did this ( I don’t like asking for FREE stuff) and I have a Sister in the industry and a couple of good friends that say If your spending a decent amount of money at a counter or even at Lush or Sephora, They’ll happily give you samples of anything you’d like to try!

I do my mini facial after I have gotten my hair wrapped up in oil! apply mask, follow its instructions, then I wash off , followed by a light cleanser on my Clarisonic, rinse & dry then add a Layer of serum then a layer of Moisturizer and finally spritz with Evan or lush’s water mist.

This was Sunday Mask….A sample of Fresh that was in one of my Monthly boxes!

Vaseline: This is something I do 1 to 2 times a week before bed… After my face is washed I apply a thin layer all over my face and neck! It’s dry in Utah and it really helps keep you skin in good shape! My mom has been doing it since her 20’s…Boy if you’ve seen my mom you’ll be doing it too!!! OX (I’ll catch my hubby doing it too!)

Olaplex: This is something I just started doing as a suggestion from my hair dresser! You use it once a week on wet hair leave in 20 mins and rinse! It helps strengthen hair! I do this before I do my Coconut oil treatment! My hair is looking healthier and stronger since I started using! (I have taken biotin and hair/nail supplements for years which work but this helps even more)

Hello pretty ladies! Today I want to share with you the importance of lip scrub. Lip exfoliation makes your lips more moist and retain its moisture longer; helping to prevent cracked lips. Winter weather can play Havoc on your lips and skin. If you’ll scrub your lips regularly, you’ll never have to worry about getting chapped lips. *Apply Moisturizer to lips after a scrub.

Here are some of the lip scrubs I have been trying out! ( I want you to note this is just my personal opinion!)

e.l.f= This lip exfoliator goes on like a lipstick, it’s affordable and smells good. It works ok if you have pretty smooth lips! If your lips are flaky or peeling it wouldn’t do the trick.

Benefit= Buffing lip beads/ exfoliant. This goes on like a cream and you buff gently. Doesn’t really have a smell and does wonders for your lips, specially if chapped or flaky! The tube last a long time.

inSPArations= Get lippy-lip scrub is a stick, I purchased in the Vanilla butter cream and smells delish! It works more like a sugar scrub and is ok for daily use. I don’t think it would help cracked lips. Is affordable but goes quick!

Living in Utah it’s super dry and using a lip Scrub has really helped to keep my lips kissable!

Note : I tried this DIY from pintrest and it work just as good as any store bought!
