How to Beat the Winter Time Blues….A Self-Care Saturday For Women Over 40
Hello Pretty Ladies,
I hope you had an excellent Valentine’s Day. We had a pretty low-key day. Our anniversary is also in February, and we would like to celebrate “our love story.” I went to lunch with a girlfriend and dropped off Valentines to our boys, wives, and girlfriends. Ben and I exchanged gifts and watched a movie. Pretty low-key! I didn’t even make the big Italian dinner I would make; I am saving it all for Sunday dinner with the family.
It snowed Thursday night, a good portion on Friday, and into Saturday morning. This sparked my blog post today, How to Beat the Winter Time Blues….A Self-Care Saturday For Women Over 40 By this time of year, I am ready for Spring, longer days, and warmer weather. A little self-care time helps cure the winter blues and adds a little pep in my step for the new week.

Spanx did it again. Their new spring drop is impressive, with new colors and several new styles.
Soft sculpt fabric These butter-soft pieces are perfect for yoga, Pilates, and even travel and are so comfortable you can wear them as loungewear! The leggings feel like butter-soft cotton, hold you in all the right places, and have a drawstring waist for a cute detail. I am in the smalls, and I adore the lilac heathered color. The matching top is a super buttery fabric with a draped back. It fits that I am in the small. The buttery soft Air Essentials cardigan is true to size.

7 Tips to incorporate a little love for yourself into your weekly routine
– Write in a journal: Write down a goal, a quote, or something you’re grateful for. Writing helps you manifest and is also a great way to reflect.
–Speak Kindly to Yourself: Replace self-criticism with affirmations celebrating your strengths.
–Take 15 minutes daily to move your body (stretch, light weights, wall sit) or walk around the block. Moving is essential not only for your health but also for clearing your mind.
–Honor Your Wins: No achievement is too small. Recognize your efforts and take pride in them.
–Enjoy your favorite warm drink: in quiet for 10 minutes
–Smile… Smile at a stranger… You never know how that could change someone’s day.
– Create Space for YOU: Whether it’s five minutes of journaling, a favorite playlist, or a walk in nature, carve out time for yourself.
