Today I want to share with you some of my favorite products and some new favorite’s I have found for Spring. I am having Spring fever with all this rain and grey skies in Utah, I thought I would also share my latest “ready for Spring outfit” a fresh floral look I wore over the weekend and had tons of compliments on my jacket (that is over 20 years old!) It looks new because I really do only wear it a couple times every spring…It just screams SPRING with it’s bright colors and helps cure the blues! The colors make me happy and the large flowers reminds me of the 70’s which takes me back to my childhood! I really think you should buy clothing that speaks to you and if it brings back a memory even better! Are you guy’s getting Spring fever or Spring cleaning? I started Spring cleaning over the weekend as well as organizing to get ready to sell our home to down size (I shared some of my organizing in my instagram stories view in highlights) This is the longest we have lived in a house (12 years) in our 25 years together and we decided now is the time to sell and build our dream smaller house (I already started sketching) …. Just in time for Spring cleaning! Oh…the stuff I have collected over the last 12 years not to mention having owned 3 clothing stores….My props and seasonal items are out of control! So needless to say I have been working like crazy cleaning out, donating, organizing and down scaling (I’ll make sure to do a post on the whole house and every room before I de -personalize it)….I know some of you are saying “didn’t you just build your DREAM kitchen?” Yes..Yes I did and it took me years…and the counter tops go in a few day’s and I will share with you the finished product! It really is beautiful and I will miss not being able to enjoy it….sometimes that’s just the way live goes. Great things are always worth the wait!

As they say Spring is a fresh start….BOY are we getting them…. exciting things happening…..Our oldest is graduating college, I am starting a new career and we’re selling our home! Good things happen in 3’s:) I did have to keep telling my self this a couple of months ago when bad thing’s happened in 3’s & happing in our life… Every time I turned around something big was breaking…I would remind myself “good things are happening, good things are happening!” Stay positive in the mist of a storm! It’s hard to do a lot of the time, I just kept putting my faith in God and knowing he was putting us on the right path. Boy..Sometimes his timing just takes sooo long:) So as I sit here rambling on, know what ever is happening in your live good or bad there’s always a fresh path or a “Spring” start no matter the season.

Nail art, Manicures and mugs!

Today I thought I would share some of my nail art, manicures and some of my mug collection with you. If you have been following me for awhile on social media you know I love having cute nails and that I have an obsession with white, black and gold mugs. I hope you enjoy this quick little post and get some inspiration for your next manicure. (make sure to pin some idea’s to your Pinterest boards)

I have been collecting my manicure pictures for the last couple years with the idea of bringing you this post. It just so happened that several of my cute mugs I’ve been collecting also made it in. Seriously I can’t pass up cute mugs (my hubby joke’s we don’t need any more mugs! Although he’s the one that is always breaking my favorite ones!! (my Chanel mug…Missing)

My nail art over the years has been a mixture of Acrylic, Gel and nail polish. I have had 2 manicurist since moving to Utah 12 years ago. My First manicurist Sheridan I had for 10 years until she had to go and have babies! (cry) She did acrylic and hand painted the nail art. She is so talented and most of these photo’s is her work. I love how thin and natural she made the acrylic and I could throw any idea at her and she could paint it. My Manicurist now is Tiffany, she does gel nails and keeps my nails and toes looking clean, polished and natural looking with on trend colors. She really is about color and your natural shape nail and doesn’t do much nail art. Both of their style’s I love and am happy to have been able to have found manicurist that can give me the looks I want while keeping my nails healthy & stylish.

5 Way’s to wear Camo pants

Today I want to share a couple of fun tips with you!

Styling a pair of Camo pant’s 5 ways and different looks you can achieve with Camo pant’s, from casual to dressy. I love it when you can get different looks from one piece of clothing and I often tell my clients to think of more then one way to wear a piece of clothing before they purchase it. This really does help with over purchasing and finding piece you’ll get a lot of use out of.

Tips to camo….. First off you don’t have to stick to its Olive & black color theme. In the first photo I did a playful outfit with a colorful fur vest! (that $8 deal I told you about in instastory!) The trick to this look is I anchored the bold vest with neutral black turtleneck and boots. The other tip is the vest had 2 of the colors in it as the camo, olive and black! This helps 2 patterns to play together.

2nd outfit giving camo pants a dressier feel! Camo has a bit of a casual and weekend feel, but you can dress it up like I did here with pairing it with a chic black leather jacket, black turtle neck or sweater, and fun accessories and classic shoes.

3rd outfit is a great Winter weekend or casual outfit. Stripes with camo works when the stripe is bolder and has 1 color of the camo in it. In this case it’s a bold Black stripe. Paired with Winter accessories this gives a fun and playful vibe.

4th outfit is a fun way to add some Spring to your camo pants. I paired with a gingham off the shoulder top and an olive duster vest. The solid olive duster vest is what grounds the two patterns. Wearing the gingham and camo together only, you wouldn’t achieve the same look. Don’t have a olive duster? Think Olive jacket, vest or cardigan.

5th outfit is casual and piece’s everyone owns! Denim jacket, saying tee, Tennis shoes. Great look for a sports game, running kids around or shopping. This is a look that you can easily achieve and what makes it fun is the bold cuff bracelet.

A lot of these pieces are old and sold out but I am linking some similar pieces below along with some great sale items and SALES. Look in your closet and see what you have to try and copy one of the looks (or ALL)….Doesn’t have to be exact, Fashion is fun so play around with it.

Day after 1st Micro-needling. Pinkness is gone and no peeling. My skin was glowing!

2nd series micro-needling procedure

3rd series micro-needling procedure after, We went deeper than the 2 times before! My face looked very red and felt like a sunburn. Also, a little peeling.

3rd in the series micro-needling procedure Day after! Redness is gone, no peeling, and my black dot in my brown spot are gone. Brown spot smaller!

The Finished series of 3 micro-needling, 1 week later, no filter taken in sunlight. My skin is clearer, my brown spot is smaller, and the black spot went out of the center! My skin is dryer than normal; however, I learned this would disappear in a couple more weeks. I think overall, my skin looks clearer and less blotchy.

I had the opportunity to work with Lashed in South Ogden to experience the new trend in facials Microneedling. They should not be confused with the Vampire facial, which is similar but different because they apply a serum after the procedure with micro-needling. But after the vampire facial, they apply your own blood that has had the plasma spun. And a vampire facial has to be done by a doctor, where micro-needling needs to be done by a certified professional. I really enjoyed working with Lashed to learn more about the process.

Microneedling is a facial. It is not plastic surgery. You ask: “Then what is Microneedling? The micro-needling treatment uses a handheld needle pen to create controlled depth micro-injuries to the skin. As a result, This stimulates the skin’s natural repair process to produce collagen and elastin. Microneedling can transform your skin by increasing collagen, reducing wrinkles, shrinking pore size, decreases acne scars, even skin tone, and improve overall skin texture.

You can treat and improve many conditions with the micro-needling, such as:

-Mild to moderate acne scarring

-fine lines and wrinkles

-loose & lax skin

-skin tone and texture

-Pore size

-Sun-damaged skin

-Superficial pigmentation

-Hypo-pigmentation

-Surgical scars

-Stretch mark

-Hair loss

Depending on your goals and what problem you’re trying to fix will depend on how many treatments you’ll need. A single procedure will make a nice change, but a series of 3-6 treatments is ideal for optimal results. And Within 2 weeks, you will start to see a change that will continue for 3 months. Of course, some treatments like hair loss or stretch marks take the 6 treatments and a little while longer to see the results. Still, with minimal downtime, 12-24 hours, your skin will love you!

“Does it hurt?” You have a numbing cream applied for about 20 minutes before the procedure, and I have to say I was nervous; however, it really didn’t hurt. Because the machine’s noise sounds like going to the dentist, if that noise bothers you, you might want earplugs, but otherwise, it’s pretty quick and feels like a microdermabrasion facial. (a little sandy)

“What did I notice”… I noticed my brown spot with a black center faded a little after each process and by the 3rd was noticeably smaller and lighter. However, my skin got even dryer, and lines appeared on my cheeks, which I learned happens to some people and is part of rebuilding collagen. I was told it would go away, and my skin will be tighter in a couple of months! My skin glowed for a couple of days after the procedure, which I loved. As a result, my skin has a clearer complexion, smaller lines around my eyes and lips (I am a straw user).

“Would I recommend and would I do it again?” I would recommend this procedure to anyone looking to improve skin. And I will do this procedure again, However not every 6 weeks, but I would do it to replace a professional facial, which I do every couple of months. So, therefore, to maintain, I would do it a couple of times a year, thinking quarterly.

“How many times is recommended for a series?” For example, the first time a series of 3, unless used for hair loss or stretch marks, 4 to 6 is needed. After that, a series is done 5-6 weeks apart from each other.

Recommended Maintenance can be done every 6-9 weeks.

Price? $150 per session, but you may purchase a 3 pack for $400, so it’s a savings of $50

Looks like we’re finally getting Winter in Utah! Just in time for me to share with you Winter boot’s that are trending for 2018 and a sneak peek at a couple of 2019’s trends.

22nd Wedding anniversary outfit & date night!

Our 22nd Anniversary is tomorrow February 25th.

I am so lucky to have been able to spend 25 year’s with my dream man. We dated for 3 years before we got married on that Winter storm day 22 years ago. The day that changed my life forever. I got to marry MY dream man and spend forever with the person who “got me” who made me feel safe and supported my dreams and goals. Had the same morals and we fit, we’re better people for having each other. He’s my perfect lid as the saying goes…I truly believe everyone has a perfect lid for there pot…if you wait your’s will cross your path in Gods perfect timing.

People say Marriage is hard…..hmmm I would answer “depends on who you marry!” Marriage in my experience has been a wonderful, loving, joyful and caring endeavor. Don’t get me wrong Life is hard… not marriage. Life isn’t always roses and butterflies we all have hard issues that come up. Whether it’s your health, finances, children issues and even families. There’s always things that take us on life’s roller coaster, it’s who’s on the ride with you that can make marriage easy or hard. When you find that perfect lid, getting through life’s hard times can make it easier. I can honestly say we’re lucky…we don’t fight or bicker and rarely disagree. We seem to have always been on the same page and truly like each other. He’s my best friend and I enjoy spending time with him. I couldn’t imagine life without him. Still to this day he gives me butterflies when he walks through that door!

Hitting 22 years of marriage is a true blessing. In today’s age 50% of marriages won’t make it to 10. I really think being able to grow together as we age is one of the tickets. Taking time for our relationship along the journey helps you stay connected to each other. It’s hard to take time for yourself and your relationship when raising a family and both working full time. It’s something you must do. Going on dates, little getaway’s and even time alone at home is great for staying connected. Remember to also take time out for yourself and allow him to do the same. This gives you both time, to do things you love that maybe your spouse doesn’t. Plus having friends is good for your soul. (yes… it’s ok to enjoy different activities!) My Hubby lives, breathes and works in Ski boots! Yuck!! I don’t love to ski…It hurts my feet! I can ski (not like my husband or our boys) but I ski…on pretty sunny Spring skiing day’s! I don’t love Winter and I really don’t like being cold. Yes… We moved to Utah from California 11 years ago. Going off on another subject..and I could go on and on about our big move and how it changed our lives in so many ways. Most for the best, but I’ll talk about that another time. Now back to Marriage…

I had a list in my head of the perfect man (do or did you?) Ben checked everything off on that list plus things I never could have thought of…. Except 1 thing he’s not romantic..hehehe If you know me it’s a running little joke… he’s thoughtful and caring and sexy has hell, but not romantic! I am not going to get flowers for no reason, great gifts just because, a warm bath drawn or beautiful written notes. But I do get a cup of hot tea in the morning and if it’s not ski season I get breakfast in bed on Sunday’s. He cooks, does laundry, is tidy and always removes ALL the snow to the cement! (Remember I don’t like Winter or ice on my drive way or walk way’s) He keeps my car detailed and would do anything I asked for help with…even if it’s to paint a bedroom for the 5th time. So some would say thats romantic! Well…..wait tell you find out he never asked me to marry him!!! Yup it’s true we’ve been married for 22 years and I was never purposed to!!! I was robbed..OX (that’s another story)

So about that perfect day 22 year’s ago… It was the Biggest snowstorm in Big Bear had had in many year’s….Not so perfect to me, talk about stressed! Wedding day’s are so stressful all that planning and preparing for the perfect fairy tail day. Having things go wrong that is out of your control. Choosing joy over stress and by seeing the positive in the negative is how you find the joy…My perfect day or was it? It’s all attitude

We looked so young! I was 25… Look at my hair it’s past my elbows! I don’t think I could have gotten a bigger headpiece!!!

3. My mom stopped the wedding… because my 10ft train was standing in the hall😜 ( my sister didn’t snap in on correct💕) So we had a start over😜😜😜

4. It was the biggest snow storm in years! I was panicked all day, our photographer, cake and guest weren’t going to make it to the destination! They did… ( Well some of the guest got stuck😜)

5. My brother had to carry me on his back to the venue from the bridal suite… the snow was so deep❄

6. We got married by candlelight at 6:00pm❤ The flowers were stunning, my cousin sang, all my loved ones were there. It really was like a moment that stood in time💕

7. I danced with my grandpa to Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.

8. My aunt crash her car into another guests❄❄❄ just slide right down the hill!

9. My mom recorded the most beautiful & thoughtful speech ever! (she had to record it because she knew she’d cry saying it live!

10. I married my sole-mate and he still gives me butterflies

11. The day couldn’t have been more perfect💕 Well… I should have change my vail! (But it was 1996!)

12. I hope you take away from this …. that while not everything IS perfect… We can make it perfect:) It’s just how we handle the situation and keep the right perspective

13. I got my perfect day I married my dream man❤💍 even though there was no romantic proposal!

14. All my husbands Dutch relatives surprised us from Holland!

15.Wait for it….Because I am a sport and I love this man….He skied fresh powder the next morning with all his buds! How could I let him miss 5 feet of fresh powder!!!

Creating a sweet and casual Valentine’s day outfit!

Valentine’s day is tomorrow do you have big plans?

My Hubby and I normally spend Valentine’s day with our kids. My family wake’s up to their St. Valentine treats and then we have an Italian dinner at home. Something about Italian food that always seems romantic. Don’t you think?

Our anniversary is this month so we have “our Time” on the 25th. It will be 23 years for us this year! Man where does the time go? I’ll be talking more about this next week.

Because we really don’t go out for Valentine’s day, I like to look festive but not dressed up. I thought I would share a couple of cute casual and festive outfits you can easily wear for Valentine’s day. Perfect for helping at school parties or a surprise lunch with your hubby. (which by the way is what my hubby just came in and told me, he plans on taking me to a Valentine’s day, lunch at our favorite restaurant Twig’s!) YAY….He normally doesn’t take a week day off so this was a nice surprise. I love the idea of a Valentine’s Day lunch, restaurant won’t be as crowded as night and we can still have dinner with our family. What’s your plans?

Ok, so lets get to the outfit details…. You all know by now that I love pink, pretty much any shade of it! So finding a couple of sweaters on sale in shades of pink really made me happy! Right now is a great time to grab a a sweater or two for a great deal…I found the cashmere LOVE sweater in pale pink at Victoria Secrets and the Hot pink distressed sweater at American Eagle. I knew both of these would be darling for the month of love.

5 Things to do for the perfect & easy girl’s weekend!

Last weekend we had an impromptu girl’s weekend at home! Not planned in any way, and I sometimes feel that’s the best kind! My sister Tiana was in town on business for Sundance, and we realized her Friday night and Saturday were free. So I called two of my other girlfriends and said, “come over for a simple dinner & drinks” they said they’d love to! (they happen to be kid-free!) YAY! No planning went into it at all. I used what I had at home, Quiche, soup, and some rolls. Super easy and no extra fuss. We even said, “wear something cozy and bring an overnight bag just in case!” This led to a fun night of good talks, laughter, and even a few good tears staying up until 1 am, leading to a sleepover.

We woke up on Saturday to Sharon making scone’s a mix that she brought from her home served with yummy jam. Delicious! We stayed in our Pj’s being lazy ALL day on the couch… watching the Hallmark channel. I tried out some home beauty treatments (full treatment steps here), then we made a quick & easy dinner and planned our Sunday in Park City. Still in our Pj’s…

Our Sunday plans really weren’t all that big…A little shopping, (Park city’s Tjmax has great finds) My sister said we should all buy these, (Which of course we’re going to take her beauty advice and all bought a set!) cafe’ sitting with people watching, a photoshoot, shopping the main street and finding a place we haven’t tried YET to eat! (WINK) we love to head over to Park City a lot for a change of scenery. My Sister had appointments in the morning, so she had to meet us just a touch later. With no set schedule, we just rolled with how the day took shape. When you have a small group of 2-4, it’s easy to roll with the punches and not set a schedule.

The girlfriend bond is so important and really special when you can share your heart with no judgment. I am lucky to have a great group of girls that truly are a blessing in my life, and I love it when we can have lunch, a movie night, or even a quick drink on the deck. Having a whole weekend is rare, and I think really important for our girl bonding and that little break from family life. I think it helps us to be better moms and wives.

Here are my 5 Things to do for the easy perfect girl’s weekend!

Don’t plan too much… It Makes for no stress and an easy weekend.
Use food from your pantry, maybe have a girlfriend bring something she has on hand.
Plan to stay in your pj’s and be lazy for 1 whole day.
Drag out your masks, facial creams, and manicure stuff.
Have an outing, a hike, a day trip, or a meal out.

Doing these 5 things will ensure you have a relaxing, well-rounded weekend with the girls.

A much-needed weekend with just the girls was just what I needed to relax, refocus and share stories to catch up—the perfect amount of laziness and girl time.
If you haven’t had a day or weekend with just the girls, you really need to treat yourself.
