Park City is a great destination for your next girl’s trip! If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I adore Park City, and my hubby and I escape for a little staycation often. Park City is also home to one of many Olympic venues. We are attending one of the Ski jumping and aerials practicing secessions at the Olympic Park. What a fun experience.

Although Park City was our destination, We had to share a couple of fun Utah destinations with our out-of-state friends. The Utah State Capital and Lunch at Hall Pass in the Gateway. As well as a fun shopping and dining destination, Station park, Who hosted us for shopping at Evereve and Twigs Bistro, provided an amazing dining experience.

Station Park is a beautiful Shopping and dining experience in Farmington, Ut. I have been lucky to have been working with them for over a year. It’s been a pure pleasure as it’s one of my family’s favorite destinations for shopping and dining. Twigs Bistro is one of my family’s favorite restaurants ( I share them often in my stories). Their food is so good, and they have an awesome weekend brunch. I knew I wanted to share with my Girlfriends. Trust me. They loved it! You can’t go wrong with any of their dishes. I love the Chicken cobbs salad, their truffle fries, and gorgonzola cheese sauce is to die for, and you can’t leave without having the Drunkin doughnuts.

Twigs is a family-owned restaurant (which you know how much I love supporting small), but they do have 5 other locations in other states. so make sure to check out their website for other locations.

We seriously enjoyed everything from the appetizers ( We choose to sample a pizza), house-made Foccacia bread, handmade pasta dishes, filet mignon, and let’s not forget about the amazing Desserts. Here are a few tips on how to pull off retro fashion in 2021:

The term “retro” refers to anything that references the past, and we all know the fashion industry loves a good comeback. In fact, fashion stylist Heather Newberger says that clothing trends tend to go through 30-year cycles. For instance, we are now seeing a lot of denim popular in the 90s worn by the latest generation of fashionistas, and it’ll eventually reappear later down the line. So dressing retro is actually always in vogue.

Whether you have a closet to borrow retro items from or you’re working with modern pieces, here are a few tips on how to pull off retro fashion in 2021:

Mix and match colors and prints

The ‘80s were all about bright colors and loud prints, so don’t be afraid to match bright pants with an oversized shirt with a contrasting color. A loose black lace top with a bright mini skirt and neon tights is also an interesting ensemble. But, of course, if you don’t feel brave enough for a loud outfit, you can add some modern pieces instead. Our ‘Tulle at Any Age’ feature shows how you can pair the fabric with denim and patterned heels to dress it down.

Rock retro sneakers

Retro sneakers are classics, and because of how versatile they are, they’re easy to pair with any outfit. In particular, though, retro sneakers give off a laid-back sporty aesthetic. For example, Reebok’s skate-inspired Club C sneakers are a minimalistic pair with a white base and a few green highlights, making them perfect for a casual yet put-together look. Meanwhile, the Nike Daybreak sneakers provide a pop of color with orange and brown. Retro sneakers tend to have muted colors, neutral tones, or minimalistic designs so that you can rock them with any outfit.

Consider interesting shapes

When thinking about outfit shape and retro-style designs, one image that comes to mind is bell-bottom jeans. In the ‘70s, especially, pants were also hip huggers and high-waisted. They also tended to have designs like embroidery, embellishments, and studs. But, of course, you can also go for some color, such as Alexander McQueen’s mid-rise flared pants or the Rebecca Vallance Amina high-rise flared crepe pants, as the ‘70s was also the time of glam rock and disco fashion. Meanwhile, the ‘50s were all about dresses with soft shapes and defined waists.

Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize

For ‘80s retro-Style, the chunkier and louder, the better. Go crazy with colored bangles, wear your large neon sunglasses, and clip on a pair of statement earrings. The ‘70s have more neutral and natural accessories, such as jewelry made of wood, shells, stones, and feathers. But if you’re going for the disco vibe, then think glitter and anything shiny that will go with your equally sparkly outfit. The ‘60s are a lot calmer with its flower headbands, gypsy scarves, and leather moccasins. Finally, for the ‘50s, use faux fur, gloves, and cat eye-shaped sunglasses.

Give your hair some life.

The common theme with ‘80s hairstyles was that they were big and used a lot of hairsprays. Allure has a list of styles that you might want to try if you’re feeling adventurous, from the simple Whale Spout ponytail to the more daring permed fe-mullet. The ‘70s hairstyles were either feathered and messy or parted in the middle. The ‘60s had the most relaxed hairstyles, with hair usually just hanging loose. In the ‘50s, it was all about looking proper. So you can either tightly curl your short hair or make a bouncy ponytail or do the curled and pinned hairstyle for long hair, as long as you put on a lot of hairspray afterward.

At the end of the day, there’s no right way to wear retro-style fashion. After all, fashion is all about self-expression, and pulling ideas from the previous decades adds your own dynamic spin to retro fashion.

9 outfit inspirations you can easily copy from our girl’s trip to park city Utah Staying at Yotel Pad. Easy looks to transition into Fall, some we even styled 5 ways for you. WE enjoyed working with some amazing brands on this trip, from WHBM, Chico’s, Spanx, Print fresh, Peepers, Station Park, Evereve, and Soma. Showing our style in what we choose, from how we decided to style the pieces. We even decided to pick a couple of things the same ( Spanx jeans & Spanx leggings) and style them differently, giving you 5 ways to wear them.

Interestingly, all 5 of us wear the same size, but due to our heights and body shapes, we all wear them differently. I hope you like the style inspiration and check out all the lady’s blog posts (linked at the bottom of this post) to see how we styled differently.

Spanx Faux leather leggings are one of my favorite closet staples (size up). You can style these in so many ways. Here I styled them with a blazer, white button-up and finished with kicks. Easy to wear with an oversized sweater and boots, paired with a rocker tee and leather or denim jacket, and even with a silk blouse and heels.

3. A Large Fresh Green Salad, with Farm Fresh locally grown tomatoes. Nothing better than locally grown tomatoes. Cucumbers, green onion, Chicken ( I use roasted chicken store), Blue cheese crumbles with Pepper and Italian dressing. ( If I have an Avocado, I add that too)

4. Jumping for joy over this jumpsuit! Talk about easy to wear, easy to style, and perfect for travel! I have been living in it lately. Hands down one of my Favorite Things! It has a lot of fabric, so size down, Ties at the neck, and has a lower back. I am in size small. For fall, you could style with a blazer or leather jacket. Going on a Tropical Vacation? This would be darling over a swimsuit.

7 Fall Transition Looks From Evereve!

Fall Transition Looks with incorporating in some on-trend pieces for Fall 2021.

Fall Transition= It’s that time of year when we start thinking Fall. The kids are heading back to school, which means school shopping and shorter days are approaching. Finally, we get a few cooler mornings & evenings, and Summer is coming to an end. I will share some fun ways to take some of your Summer pieces and transition them into a Fall look while incorporating some Fall 2021 on-trend pieces from EverEve.

Here are a few of this year’s trends. What’s even better is they are so easy to mix & match! I incorporated:

Camo (yes, it’s still strong as well as Stars)

Shacket (a shirt / Jacket) This year, it’s more fitted, not as bulky

The Look above is a great casual chic look that’s easy to achieve using your Summer Camis and Denim Jacket. Worn with these darlings Camo Joggers and chunky New Balance Kicks. (I love the nubby details) STYLING TIP: Pulling the joggers up a bit makes it look weather appropriate and Chic! I can easily wear a graphic tee versus a camis.

In this look, I am wearing the same pieces as above, swapping out the denim jacket for this year’s on-trend cardigan. Note: The cardigan is hip length and has large buttons (you’ll be seeing this a lot). Adding the chunky chain mules instead of Kicks. This gives a less casual look to the joggers.

Another way to wear camo and cargo but in the skinny leg, very leg flattering if that’s one of your body features you like to focus on. (I do as my trouble area is my middle) paired with the mules again, but you could wear the Kicks if you wanted to. I liked the mules with the blazer, although blazers and tennis shoes are trending as well. Note: The Blazer is more fitted and has cute sleeve detail and collar.

Cargo loving again! This pair is a Satin finish skinny cargo, again leg flattering and very affordable. Wearing the same graphic tee, pulling out the denim jacket and the tennis shoes. Gives a totally new look, but your using your pieces multiple time. A great way to get versatility out of your clothing. Perfect pieces of packing for a trip! Shop the Look below:

Taking that Summer Tee shirt dress into Fall with Braided Booties and Shacket. The shacket has been trending for about 3 years and really came on strong last year! It was Oversized (a Jacket skirt combo) and normally bulkier. I love how this year, the trending Shacket is shorter and more fitted, a thicker flannel if you will. Shop the Look:

Days when it’s still warm enough for shorts, but you want a little cozy, Add a fun Cropped cardigan worn over a cami or tee, even wear it alone and buttoned up. (cardigans worn alone is trending) Paired with braided detail booties. It’s a fun Fall transition look. Shop the look:

Summer cropped jeans, give them a Fall update with Chunky Chain mules and a Printed leopard cardigan. So easy to wear and light enough layers, you won’t get too hot. Shop the Look:

What pieces Came home with me! Yup, I told you I never leave empty-handed! Actually, I own a version of almost all of these pieces. Like I said there easy to style, very versatile, and can be worn in many seasons. So why did I choose these 4 pieces to come home with me?

Shacket due to the new flattering styling, and I adored the color, not to mention I have a version of the dress. Joggers, I purchased the shorts and adored them all Summer, so I knew these Joggers would be a favorite. Free People gets me every time, and this chunky cropped cardigan was a piece I knew I would style on repeat. Finally, kicks…well, I am a sucker for shoes, and the details on these got me! 6. Loreal Voluminous- Carbon Black (To Replace- Lancome) Benefits, I used this in my high school years and always loved. Loreal is owned by Lancome. Seriously, the mascara is hard to tell the differnce between the two.

7. Maybelline line express eyeliner- in Brown (REPLACE – MAC Teddy)

Does what it say’s and its a great product. I still perfer Spending the money on the Mac eyeliner, as I feel it last longer and stays put. MAC Teddy eyeliner.

8. Wet & wild Kohl crayon -brown (she didn’t recommend this one) I just thought I’d try… This one is not great, it runs and doesnt last all day.

9. Nyx micro brow pencil Taupe

A micro mechanical brow pencil that shapes, defines and fills in sparse brows for a natural look. This is great if you dont have alot to fill in. It does stay on. I do perfer my Charlott Tillbury worth every penny and last months. Shop Here

10. Loreal Brow Stylist blond

A dual pencil with a brow pencil and a brush. I purchased the color blond and I needed to go a little darker, as my brows are so blond, I need to darken them up. ( I actually have my eyebrows dyed) and use a pencil to give shape and fill them in a little. This would have worked had I gotten the right color.

11. Milani- Lip Stains

Smudge resistant satin matte finish, soft suede-like feel, Delivers long-lasting hydration. These Lip stains are just as good as City Beauty $38 and ShadeM $18 Milani is a great deal at $7.99! I love these Lip stains, All 3 are not drying or make your lips flake. They truly are all long lasting and come in beautiful colors. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with these stains. (All have a great selection of colors and several different shades from each brand.)

12. Maybelline -Eye shadow pallet, expert wear

This eyeshadow makeup quad boasts extraordinary color thanks to ultra-blendable jet-milled pigments. Delivers a silky finish that lasts up to 12 hours and really is so easy to use. If you struggle with appling eyeshadow, and never know what to put where, this eyeshadow is “color by numbers” for Woman. I love how easy it is to use, I really love its 4 colors only and they are the colors I would use out of some of my big pallets and have all of these extra colors I am never going to use. The shadows really do last all day.

The Joys of Midlife! I started noticing a change about 42. Not ever having a weight gain issue, I was slowly gaining about 5 LBS a year. ( no matter what I did, I couldn’t lose it) My energy wasn’t what it used to be, I wasn’t sleeping as well as I used too and my skin was so dry. ( I did not have hot flashes, and I still had a regular period)

I would ask my OBGYN to check my thyroid and hormones. (Which she said was fine) That I was experiencing the joys of aging. At 44, I wouldn’t say I liked that answer, I had gained 15-17 LBS that I couldn’t lose, and I knew my body… something was up.

I researched and heard about Bioidentical Hormone therapy replacement Doctors. They do a more extensive blood panel and really look at all of the hormone levels. More info HERE

Tip: When looking for Hormone Replacement Therapy, Doctors make sure they are Bio-Identical specialists and, most importantly, they do the Saliva test and the blood work. Turning a long story short… As a result, I took the replacement therapy My Doctor prescribed for me at that time. Therefore within 3 months, my skin looked amazing, my energy was back, I was sleeping normally, and BEST of all, 12lbs came off without trying. 🎉

I did Whole30 that November and lost 16 more pounds and keep it off as a result.

Fast forward to covid… Hormone replacement scripts ran out, no bloodwork, and my Doctor moved. Lots of Family Cooking and a 49th Birthday… Therefore All the weight is back, and so are the Symptoms above.

As a result, I researched new Doctors and found Dr. Kat At Renewal. Her practice is in Salt Lake City, and I love her. Dr. Kat is who Prescribed the above plan. I’ve been retaking Hormone replacement for the last 20 days or so. Remember, Hormones take 30-90 days to start seeing results. I will give you an update in the future.

You know I am a HAT girl, and these are the ones I purchased this year. Each one provides great protection for your face and looks great with All your Suits & Summer outfits.
SUN TEA is no secret. I am a BIG Ice Tea drinker, Nothing better on the Hot days of Summer than to cool off with a Tall glass of SUN TEA. How I make mine: 4 -5 Lipton tea bags, a glass jar (I have a large Ball Jar HERE) fill with warm water, add bags, and set out in the sun in the mornings. By afternoon it’s the perfect Dark color I love… Grab a tall glass, add ice & pour. ( you can add mint or lemon 🍋)
A good BOOK– I have a few on my reading list this Summer. Below is a couple I can’t wait to read.
CHIPS, SALSA, and GUACAMOLE… I could eat it every day in the SuMMeR! My easy Recipes HERE
WATERMELON and YES I salt mine…. Yum yum yum

TIP: For picking the perfect Watermelon, look for one with a large yellow spot and what looks like scratch marks. The yellow means it stayed on the vine to get ripe, and the stretches are really bee stings (meaning it’s sweet). BEST watermelon cutting Knife HERE

10. SANDAL season☀️ I adore sandal season, showing off pretty painted toes! It’s no secret I am a shoe lover, and I buy new shoes all the time. I can’t resist pretty shoes. Below are my go-to sandals every season and my NEW additions this year.

Let me tell you… if you don’t have Havaianas Flip flops, you’re missing out. (not joking; I own at least 20 pairs, Got my Mama hooked too) Very very comfortable, not like any flip flop you’ve ever put on. Last for years, come in so many fun colors and designs. Made in Brazil. This was the shoe that saved me when I had Plantar Fasciitis. Trust me, worth paying a little more than your average flip flop. Range $28-35

I truly do have so many things I love and find myself using to death or buying over and over, like the Slide sandals below or the only Bra I ever want to wear. But I also find myself always grabbing this straw hat and lately wearing this Pearl Jacket over and over again. I could have added about 10 more things! 🙂 But I kept it short and sweet for you today. HEHE

This look is perfect for Spring or Summer (remember I wore this for Easter.) I love a good Sun Dress and Fun on-trend accessories. But I am really here to Talk about this Hat and Hat Band. I love the shape of the hat; it works so well with many Spring and Summer looks. The band is sold separately HERE (Gucci but is affordable for Gucci). You can add it to any Hat or beanie, and it changes the whole look of the hat and outfit.

I own many hats and love all of them for several reasons ( I can get into that another time). I do, however, find myself grabbing this one several times a week because the shape is so good, it really does look good on every shape face, and as I stated above, it works with so many outfits. It’s a must-have in my book FAVORITE THING #1.

The pearl embellished denim jacket, Can I say repeat, repeat repeat… I have worn it 3 times this week already, and it’s only Wednesday! 🙂 Every time I wear it, I get stopped, and let me tell you, I wore it last week to Vintage Market, and I could have sold 100 of them if I had a booth! FAVORITE THING #4

The slide, I found myself owning several pairs of this sandal, without even knowing I love this type of sandal. I love how easy a slide is to wear; it’s very versatile to style and looks good with literally everything (well, except maybe a ball gown!) It comes in a variety of designs; you seriously can’t own just one pair. My Instagram feed shows several ways to style them, and trust me; I’ll be wearing them on repeat all Summer long. Favorite Things #5

The Soma vanishing 360 bras are my all-time favorite bra. So comfortable you can wear all day long. I love it’s truly a vanishing bra, not visible under any shirt, let alone tee’s and tanks. I like an underwire, but they do make without the wire as well. This bra is true to size, super soft, and the best bra I have loved in a very long time.
