Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife Women…Good Things Utah Tv Segment

Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife Women…Good Things Utah

Hello pretty ladies,

Today, I am so excited to share. I will be on Good Things Utah sharing: A Fashion Segment on “Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife Women.” You can watch the segment HERE or Live at 10:00 am Mnt. On local channel 4/KTVX.

Below: I am sharing a complete list of all the items I am sharing from White House Black Market, along with MY TIPS: on Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife. I hope you enjoy it! Ox ( I will enter photos from today, after the show)

Sharing a few Spring Fashion Fixes for dressing Chic at any age.. is something I try to share with you, as it is my main goal to help Midlife women look and feel good at any age. We are not the Golden girls anymore!

Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife Women…Good Things Utah

-Aging doesn’t mean you have to lose your sense of style. If anything, we have finally figured out who we are and what our style is.

-Age shouldn’t dictate what we wear. However, it may dictate what you are comfortable in. And, like many women, your style probably has developed more over time. Finding what you really love and what works for your body is most important.

Spring Fashion Fixes for Midlife Women…Good Things Utah

4 of my most significant fashion FIXES:

#1-Always wear what you love. When you wear what you love, you feel good.

#2-Wear what works on your body and makes you feel great, no matter the trend! Clothes that don’t work on your body type DON’T Flatter you.

#3-Accentuate, your body’s good features, tiny waist, great legs, flat tummy or pretty shoulders, whatever that may be… show it. Don’t let aging defy you.

#4- It’s ok to wear seasonal trends. Mix them in with your classic pieces. So often, when ladies approach midlife, they think they can’t wear fashion trends! So, False! Adding in subtle trending details updates your wardrobe and gives it a “FRESH look,” and a lot of the time, the most affordable way to update a wardrobe.

Here are a few Spring Fashion Fixes that are trending:

                                       White| Flares| High Waisted| Belts| Blazers| Braided Sandals|

                                         Layered Jewlery|Pattern Pop| Stud details|

All great ways to “FIX” your midlife Fashion. And below are ways to incorporate them.

Color WHITE|

-White is always chic and timeless for Spring and Summer… (One of the perks of midlife, no little hands to get you dirty 😂), and Neutrals are trending in a BIG way this Spring! We love this Bag and This top.

Jeans|

Add a pair of white jeans, skinny or High waisted Flares Shown below are from White House Black Market.

All jean styles are “in style” right now, from straight legs, cropped flares, and mid-rise to high rise. There’s no wrong style right now. Most importantly, wear what you feel good in!

Below are two Jean styles trending:

White Skinny Jeans|

The skinny jean is flattering on every figure, great worn dressed down or up. Perfect with flowy Summer tops and this season’s ruffled detailed tops.

Two STYLE FIXES BELOW:

Style Fix #1.

The balance of a flowy top and a tight bottom has a slimming effect (significant for those with a tummy).

Style Fix #2.

Another great way to style skinny jeans is with a Blazer or Moto jacket over a button-up blouse or graphic tee. Dress up for work or down for play.

White High rise Flares|

High-rise jeans can have a love-hate relationship, depending on your figure and how you wear them. Some love them, and some hate them. On the other hand, they can be great for hiding a muffin top and bad on your backside.

So, styling them correctly is key. If you’re like me and don’t have a backside and carry your weight in the middle, they are great styled with a blazer. They hold the tummy in, hide a muffin top, and the blazer covers the backside. Also, they can make you look taller if you’re on the shorter side. To name a few body types. Otherwise, I could go on and on.

Three Style Fix below:

-Style Fix #1.

wearing a flare is on-trend and can really elongate your legs.

Style Fix #2.

  • High-waisted is also on-trend and can be great with a bodysuit and blazer.

Style Fix #3.

  • Wearing high-waisted with some of the Cropped trending sweaters and tops is also helpful to be on-trend without showing skin.

Here are a Few white jeans I love from White House Black Market Below:

Belt|

Belts come and go in Fashion. We have been seeing belts trending for a while now, especially with the designer logos. This Spring, we see all belts, with the WIDE belts being hot hot hot!

Three Style Fix below:

Style Fix #1.-Belts show off a waist: Accentuates a small waist or gives an illusion of a waist.

Style Fix #2.– Belts add shape to a shirt dress or Maxi tee dress.

Style Fix #3.– Belts can add detail to simpler outfits.

Here are some Favorites from the White House Black Market Below:

Blazers|

Adding some spring trends with your classic pieces helps keep your wardrobe from looking dated. A dated wardrobe ages you, and nobody wants to look older😂

Below are 3 styling Fixes for wearing Blazers

Styling FIX #1. A Tee-shirt dress with a Blazer shown here is classic yet “ON Trend” with the Spring Blazer craze that’s going on.

Styling FIX #2. Another great way to wear a blazer is with a graphic tee and shorts.

Styling FIX #3. Wearing a blazer is as simple as dressing up in a tee and jeans.

Some of our favorite flattering Blazers below from White House Black Market:

Accessories| Braided| Layered Jewlery| Pattern pop| Studded detail

Accessories are a great way to add in a Subtle trend without being too trendy. Accessories FIX a dated wardrobe.

HERE are a few of this season’s accessory trends below.

Braided Sandal Trend|

Shown below, the braided sandal is hot this season. WHBM has a couple of cute ones to add in Here & Here

Layered Jewelry|

Layered jewelry has been on trend for a couple of seasons. Wearing several of your favorite necklaces at once adds detail. Creating this look is simple with this necklace by White House Black Market, as all the layering is done for you in one simple piece. Great to dress up a simple tank top or tee.

Crystals are trending from Fashion to home decor. They have great energy and give any outfit a great “statement.”

Below are a couple of pieces I love:

Pattern Pop|

Pop of leopard is always a fun addition to any outfit. Leopard truly never goes out of style. Now, wearing too much of it at once can be overdone. Just a pop will do!

Fashion Fix: Add a pop of leopard to your outfit with a great leopard bag to make a statement. Or even a pair of Leopard shoes can create an interest in a simple outfit.

Some great Leopard pieces from WHBM:

Studded detail|

Studded detail is also “Trending” it is a fun little detail to add to an outfit without being too youthful yet adding an “on-trend” update to your look. This detail once associated with punk rock is no longer! Instead, it’s a detail Valentino has been sporting for a while and is one you need to add to your wardrobe.

Style Fix: The stud element adds texture to an outfit. You can add the stud detail with a bag or shoes shown below. It’s also being used as a detail on clothing. A Fun element that takes your outfit up a notch.

I love this Bag and these sandals by WHBM:

Self-Tanner season, 2 New body products by Tula to help!

Finally, Self-Tanner season, 2 New body products by Tula to help!

Self-Tanner season, 2 New body products by Tula to help!

Hello Pretty ladies,

Can you believe we are at the end of March already? I honestly can’t. It flew by for me. I know I had a lot going on with three trips and Our son’s birthday. But, it helped make a month that usually drags on for me fly by.

March has also been unusually warm in Utah, which makes me happy. There is nothing like longer sunny days to help you get in the mood for Spring. Spring means Spring break, warmer vacations, pretty dresses, and simpler clothing. Which also means a need for Self Tanner in a big way for me? How about you?

I was so excited Tula launched a New body product line to help you Hydrate and polish your skin. Perfect timing for prepping your skin for self-tanners. In Utah, it’s so dry we need all the help we can get. Still, it’s essential to have buffed, exfoliated, and hydrated skin before applying self-tanner for the tanner to go on smooth and streak-free. Happy to introduce Tula’s Advanced Hydrating body moisturizer & Revitalizing Exfoliating body wash.

Advanced Hydrating Body moisturizer,  this buttery cream instantly hydrates skin, leaving a natural, luminous glow that feels soft & supple—never greasy or sticky. Skincare-first ingredients yuzu & Vitamin C help improve the look of tone and texture, while hyaluronic acid & ceramides deeply moisturize and help improve skin softness. A subtle, comforting vanilla coconut scent makes this a body routine staple. So give the other 90% of your skin the kindness & indulgence it deserves.

Revitalizing Exfoliating Body Wash, This instant refresh for the body deeply cleanses and buffs away dull skin with lemon peel and hibiscus flower acid, improving the look of skin texture and tone—and providing a refreshing scent. In addition, three powerhouse AHAs help skin appear brighter. So lather up and get glowing with this skincare-first essential.

Where to Eat and Stay in New Orleans

Where to Eat and Stay in New Orleans 1st in our New Orleans series.

Where to Eat and Stay in New Orleans

Hello Pretty Ladies,

The Chit Chat chic girls just got back from a fun Galentine’s trip to New Orleans, as many of you know. So today, all the girls are sharing Where to eat and stay in New Orleans, and we will share where to shop, fun things to do and what we wore in a couple of other posts. So think of it as our New Orleans Series.

Where to Eat and Stay in New Orleans. What comes to mind when you say New Orleans? Jazz, Mardi gras, The French Quarter, Beignets,(recipe here) Pralines, (recipe here) Craw Fish, Beads, and Hurricane Drinks? (recipe here) That’s what I think of when I think of New Orleans, and this trip did not disappoint. We stayed at the Royal Sonesta in the heart of the French Quater (one of NOLA’s most historic neighborhoods) on the corner of the famous Bourbon Street, where gaslights flicker on every street, and Old charm meets new.

The Hotel couldn’t have been more charming with the ornate Iron grillwork details of french architecture, pretty fountains and quart yards, Hotel Suites with french doors opening to overlook the pool. Beautiful details throughout the Hotel. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. They went above and beyond to make your stay a pleasant one.

Not only is the Royal Sonesta located in a convenient location, but The French Quater also has all the restaurants, bars, and shopping you could want. But you can easily walk to Canel street, Cafe DuMond, take a cruise down the Mississippi river, catch the trolly to the Garden District, or Magazine street for boutique shopping.

The Royal Sonesta conveniently has several restaurants on the property and The Jazz Play House for entertainment. Desire Oyster Bar, Bar R’evolution, and Pj’s Coffee

New Orleans is known for its good food. The taste of Nole is cajun driven with a lot of seafood, award-winning seafood gumbo, shrimp remoulade, po’boys, Beignets, Oysters, and a lot of flavors. So if you’re a foodie, you will enjoy your time in New Orleans.

The Jazz Play House, located on the property, has the sounds of the New Orleans embrace and charm. A vibrant nightlife with authentic jazz, serving drinks and bites. Michelle and I had the Elle Fitzgerald Martinis, and Cindy Had the French 45. The table shared a blue cheese wedge and crab cakes (Cammi needed to try out crabcakes at every restaurant!) Then finished off with a shared chocolate cheesecake.

NOTE: The Jazz Play House is a place to enjoy the music. It is not somewhere to go if you want to chat.

Cammi, Had the crab cakes, and she would say these were in the running for Best along with Francois. The table had the Fries with Etoufee & shrimp (they decided they were not Etoufee fans). Cindy & I Had a chopped salad with grilled chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and a side of fries. (All very good) (Cindy and I had a salad with chicken almost everywhere we went)

(Now… the Host,  let’s say they need a new one! He was the only rude/ no personable person in NOLA!) Thank goodness we only had a few minutes of him! The waitress made up for it. She was so sweet and very Happy!

Francois Grill & Bourbon Street Blues in Baton Rough

This restaurant is worth the drive to Baton Rouge from New Orleans. Located in the Perkins Rowe shopping district. (cute outdoor mall experience) Francois Grill is a cultural mix of Sicilian, French, and Cajun cuisine.

The onion rings were so good as a starter along with, You guessed it, Crab cakes:) The girls voted these the BEST crab cakes. I had the veggie omelet with a side of steamed veggies (cooked perfectly and with so much flavor) along with pan potatoes. A savory meal we all enjoyed. They have a full bar and live jazz music.

Bistro 77 is another excellent restaurant at Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge. They are known for great drinks, charcuterie boards, and shared plates. Also serving delicious salads, known for gourmet flatbreads, and a great assortment of sandwiches and lobster mac and cheese. View the menu here

You guessed it, I had a salad, but not just any salad, a Spiced Pear and grilled chicken salad with an  Apple vinaigrette and spiced candied nuts. It was so good. Cindy chose the same salad with steak, and everyone else chose a different flatbread and enjoyed their picks.

Curio

An American Cuisine with a creole soul, right around the corner from the Hotel. Recommended by the concierge at the Hotel. Had a fun Bar cafe vibe, with charming staff and great food. I had the Crispy Chicken salad with a balsamic dressing. The chicken was so yummy. I drank Ice tea by the gallon everywhere we went (unsweeten). Not a bad tea anywhere, all fresh, strong, and had free refills. The average price of every meal we had was about $18-20 for entree, Appetizers $10-15, Cocktail $7-15 with a tab for one, including a 20% tip of around $35 a meal.

Harvest and Honey  CELEBRATE THE MOMENT, delivering  Charcuterie – From Box to Board to your door. A small business that delivers locally in Utah to your Home or Hotel,  it’s a great service you’ll enjoy. Makes a great gift as well. Seriously who doesn’t love cheese?

Makes for a great light meal or snack. Available in multiple sizes to serve two to 20! We really enjoyed this board on our first night as a dinner. We changed into Pj’s, grabbed a drink, and sat down to this beautiful and yummy treat. So easy to dine and chat. We had a great time creating tasty combos. Thank you, Harvest and Honey!

Station Park is a beautiful Shopping and dining experience in Farmington, Ut. I have been lucky to have been working with them for over a year. It’s been a pure pleasure as it’s one of my family’s favorite destinations for shopping and dining. Twigs Bistro is one of my family’s favorite restaurants ( I share them often in my stories). Their food is so good, and they have an awesome weekend brunch. I knew I wanted to share with my Girlfriends. Trust me. They loved it! You can’t go wrong with any of their dishes. I love the Chicken cobbs salad, their truffle fries, and gorgonzola cheese sauce is to die for, and you can’t leave without having the Drunkin doughnuts.

Twigs is a family-owned restaurant (which you know how much I love supporting small), but they do have 5 other locations in other states. so make sure to check out their website for other locations.

NYFW (The Shows) Part 1

NYFW ( New York Fashion Week) A dream since I was 10!

As a little girl I played Barbies just to dress her and design her house… I have love Fashion from planing my school outfits to getting dressed up for Dances or compete in Pageants! As I grew I scoured Magazines and love to window shop and of course shop! I would watch the award shows just to view the red carpet. To attend NYFW Was one of my biggest dreams. Not to just Fly to New York and be in the city the week it was happening… But to actually be apart of shows, parties, influencer parties and soak in the excitement of what Fashion week is all about!

My Dream came true when My sister called and Said “I got contracted to do Makeup for NYFW… You should come with Me!!”  WHAT … Is this really happening!!!  It was and so the planning, contacting and research began!) oh…. And what was I going to wear!!!! ????  Between Owning a Boutique, my contacts with Style Collective, contacts I have made over the years and of course My Sister’s (Tiana Holiday) contacts and connections we started to plan our Big week…. We had just 3 weeks to Plan and organize what would be our first vacation ever together, not to mention a dream come true for both… And we get to experience it together! Pure Joy❤️

I will be sharing our experience in 6 parts…. The Breakdown of NYFW

The Fashion Shows

The Parties

My Outfits (and some of my sisters)

The food

The sights

The swag

The shows…. This is not an easy task to get into a Show Small or Big…. So we were Blessed to attending 1 show let alone 6 shows with seats (hows have seats and standing at each show) Specially at such short notice! (God was really working for us) People work at getting into shows for months prior!

Here is a peak at the Shows I was LUCKY to attend.

Seeing shows first hand and being able to see a good verity of shows, from New designers to established designers was such a treat! The Quality of clothing, the craftsmanship and detail was amazing on different levels. Some of the shows weren’t my style but you could appreciate the Craftmanship or Just one piece you could see how you would style it!  I love the Venues, each so different and ALL over the city!  Exciting to feel the different energy of each show and of course people watch! ( people watching is one of my favorite things!  I could hear my mom telling “their story” in my head❤️) Fashion is different to everyone… Quality, design, Trendy, personal flare, affordable , expensive , classy AND at Fashion week you see it All!

Truly felt blessed to have gotten this exsperience and I have to tell you it was better then any of my hopes & dreams! Now that I have done it once and learned so much… I would love to plan really plan really prepare …I ‘ve got the bug and do it again next year!  I have a better Idea of what to expect, what to pack , how to plan, what events to do again, what to show up extra early for and what to skip!

Hope you enjoyed the shows through my eyes and looking forward to Post 2 of NYFW…

What DRESSES I am wearing as a 54 year old, this S What DRESSES I am wearing as a 54 year old, this Spring & Summer…

A little something for everyone…10 dresses & Styling ideas

-Ruffles & Bows
-Show a little leg
-Calf & Maxi length for those who don’t
-Casual- Everyday-Workwear and -Travel
-Color- Neutrals and Print

A few style TIPs and the BIGGEST style mistake….

Just putting on the dress and not accessorizing …. Take NOTE of every look… Shoes, Bag, Jewlery and finishing accessories ✔️✔️✔️

Accessorizing can make or break your look… Styling doesn’t have to be hard or over the top… but it is something you don’t want to skip…

Changing your bag takes 3 minutes, picking a shoe can be an issue for some. Tip: pick a neutral sandal or heel, 1 good neutral sandal & Bag can work for all these looks. (I’ve linked several over on my blog and in stories)

- A great gold or silver stack of bracelets, a favorite necklace and earrings will work if you are a minimalist..

If you’re a Maximalists like me😉 you’ll have a collection for every season, every “vibe” and several choices to change the looks….

You can be classic and chic, simple and elegant, boho and layered…. Just DON’T skip accessorizing😉

It’s been so fun watching him grow from a little pistol into this young man🤍and amazing New daddy.
