Stay Current In Fashion: What I Won’t Be Doing in 2024 Part 1

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Happy Friday, and I hope your weekend is off to a great start. Today, I am sharing… 3 things I’m not doing to “BE CURRENT” as a midlifer….PART 1

I wanted to bring to you things you can still do in fashion and look current at any age without having to change your whole wardrobe just by making some little tweaks and not feeling like you have to jump on board with what you are seeing currently on trend or suggested on how you clean out your wardrobe.

I have started a series called “What I won’t be doing in 2024,” In which I share baby steps in how you can accomplish a wardrobe that will have you looking chic and feeling good at any age without breaking the bank and having to start from scratch as well as helping you find your style while building a classic wardrobe that will fit your body type.

Each week, I will be sharing “What I won’t be doing” “along with the “Why” and “TiPS” what you can use as suggestions to help you make decisions in your wardrobe, which I think can be helpful for you to follow, clean out and purchase smarter.

Today, I am sharing… 3 things I’mI’mt doing to “BE”CURRENT” a” a midlifer….PART 1

#1. I’m not throwing away ALL my skinny jeans!!!

⚠️You’ve seen midlife stylists throw them in the trash!!!! WHAT! ( yes, trends come and go, and some styles of jeans are more on trend in specific years… But…)

Here’s WHY: I won’t be throwing all of mine away or telling clients, too…

– Skinny jeans are genuinely the only jeans that work well with tall boots (which will be showing up big in 2024)

– Every figure is different and has different styles that flatter you.

-YOU know what you like and what YOU feel good in.

-You can Make Skinny Jeans “CURRENT” just by how you style them! (More on that later)

—They look great with Tunics and oversized sweaters. This gives the outfit balance

-They work on my body. My legs are one of my assets, and I try to teach my followers and clients to wear what works on your body! Accentuate your best parts.

#2. Wearing Things that don’t work on my (you’re) body!

Here’s Why everyone’s figure is different; we don’t have to wear EVERY trend to be “CURRENT” (more later)

-Dressing for your body type will not only help you to feel and look better, but it will also show OFF the little trends you decide to wear better! (More on picking Trends that work on your body type later)

– Being “CURRENT” can be as easy as picking a trending fabric and choosing it in a style that works for you—choosing a trending color and adding that to your accessories. It truly is in the little details, not your whole wardrobe.

#3. Not Caring what people think!

Here’s Why Fashion is an expression of yourself, NOT your AGE!

– When you wear what you genuinely feel good in, you’ll project and wear it with confidence 💕

Tips to help you create a Holiday Capsule

TIP #1: You can easily create your own Holiday Capsule wardrobe, by going through your closet and seeing what could work to be festive… and start your rack. Then you can easily create looks with what you’ve put together.

Fabrics of the season satins, velvets, sequins, faux fur, tartan plaids, Pearl detail, and faux leather.

Colors of the season Shades of Red, green, Ivory, metallic, and black. Even Navy’s & Pinks💕

Don’t forget to Pull out your festive jewelry, bags, and shoes.

These tips also make it easier to know what you might need to shop for. (A great pair of trousers or a festive sweater.) You get my drift.

Tip #2 make sure everything you pulled fits✔️ nothing worse than thinking you have an outfit planned and then something doesn’t fit correctly.

Tip #3 Make sure your@hair do goes with your Outfit… The hair and makeup are the finishing details and finish off the look.

High neck or detail wear hair up, stunning statement earrings a chic low ponytail or low bun. bare shoulders hair down or 1/2 up. These are just a few hairdo ideas.

9 Fall trends you can wear at any age

Get your wardrobe ready with this Fall edit of the new season’s trends I’ve spotted. From sophisticated Modern Prep, to cool Biker Chic and versatile Denim Remix, They’re real trends for real life, curated just for you. Fall trends you can wear at any age.

Get your wardrobe ready with this Fall edit of the new season’s trends.

Cargo pants – sharing a fun twist with the Satin cargo pants. Great to dress up with a festive top and sparkling jewelry for date night or cocktails.

Coated jeans – are a must from metallic to faux leather, easy to style with a button-up top, or a sweater, or layer them both and add a blazer. Festive for the upcoming holidays as well.

Denim on Denim – layering denim pieces for a chic, easy Fall outfit. Denim on denim makes a great basic outfit, And you can change its look of by adding a 3rd piece….

TIP: A great 3rd piece could be… a blazer, cargo jacket, Leather jacket a sweater cardigan. The possibilities are endless✔️ Add some texture and pattern with your accessories. Below I added faux calf hair leopard print loafers and a pop of metallic gold with the clutch.

The rich bold color of Red – from Red clothing to a pop of red with accessories. This color is coming in hot for Fall and looks great paired with cream and brown tones.

Tip: red looks good on everyone, just find the right shade that will work on your skin tone. Picking the right Blue or orange undertones makes a big difference in your skin type

Wide-leg jeans & pants – If you only purchase 1 new Fall item, make it a pair of Wide-leg jeans. So flattering and versatile. Dress them up or wear them casually. Flattering on every body type. Just make sure to wear a tighter top to keep the look balanced. I love the Spanx wide-leg pants and flares. They fit great and flatter every figure. (shared below)

Layering Cardigans and Blazers– Take the traditional Fall cardigan and blazer and make it New by layering the cardigan or vest under the blazer for a chic preppy look. The best Blazers that flatter the figure and taper at the waist are by Gibsonlook (shared below)

Tartan Plaid– a Fall staple🍂 but for 2023, we’re seeing it on everything from shoes and accessories to sweaters, pants, and dresses. Not a pattern for just blazers and coats this season.

Sweater Dresses– Another Fall staple, worn with boots and layered with blazers, denim jackets, and even a leather jacket. In 2023 we’re seeing in in every length and neckline. I love the turtleneck sweater dresses.

Turtlenecks– Not just for your average ski sweater in 2023… This classic and preppy style is showing up on dresses, tees, lightweight sweaters, and chunky sweater styles. Perfect for fall layering and adding a classic and polished look to any outfit.

Trends we’re still seeing:

Still going strong are the silky slip dresses, the corset look, Sweater dresses, and the Boxy blazer. We saw them last year.

September is here and the official first day of Fall is in just a couple weeks. Which has me excited, As most of you know Fall is my favorite season. I adore all things fall from fashion to home and all things pumpkin-related! So I hope you’re ready for everything fall-related to be showing up here and on my other platforms.

I thought it would be fun to share Fall shoe trends with you. Shoes can make an outfit and this year we’re seeing some fun changes from what we’ve seen the last couple of years. I Love seeing a lot of feminine pretty shoes. Bow details are big, pointed-toe pumps, metallic is huge from shoes and accessories to clothing. I love ballet flats & Mary Janes are having a moment, wedge soles on booties & boots, and one of my favorites from last season, the chunky loafer.
