11 Spring Fashion Trends You’ll Love!

One of the things I love about the season change is the NEW trends that can give your wardrobe a little refresh. It doesn’t mean you have to go out and purchases a whole new wardrobe. It means you can add some fun new pieces to what you already own to give the pieces a new FRESH look. Isn’t that one of the things we love about Spring? FRESH

Although several trends are happening this Spring, I picked 11 Spring Fashion Trends you’ll love and be able to easily add into your wardrobe without spending a lot of money. Plus a couple of easy tweaks you can incorporate to be right on-trend.

#9. Is featured HERE. High-waisted denim with a wide leg and distressed detail. This Maggie Mae jean by Free People is one of my ALL time favorite jeans. I own it in every wash. (size up due to the high waist) Easy to wear and to style.

This is one piece I would suggest you grab to give your Spring wardrobe a refresh. If white isn’t your thing, You can grab them in Denim and black denim.

#8. Stud details= Featured on the bow sandals is a cute monochromatic stud detail I adore. These popular Valentino sandals are a splurge, which I linked below. I have had a couple of seasons and adore them. I felt they were worth the Splurge, knowing I would wear them for several seasons, and the stud detail is very subtle.

#3. & #4. Killing Two birds with one stone… The shirt dress looks great on every figure. It is easy to style, can also be worn as a duster. I love it hides my tummy (my trouble area). Shop my Hat HERE

This Shirtdress also incorporates trend #4 Western-inspired with western details in the pockets detailing and buttons. The western-inspired is very easy to achieve by adding a cowboy hat, a plaid button-up, or simple western details, as shown above.

Here are a couple of subtle & easy Spring trends you can add to your Spring wardrobe…. Chunky Gold Chainlink details (shown on the bag) Pearls are ALL the rage this Spring (detail on the Sunglasses) Studded detail shown on the sandal. The Shirt Dress is making a big statement, and this one also incorporates the little western detail on the pockets. Let’s not forget about the middle part, Have been wearing a Middle part since I grew out my bangs several years ago. But this year, it’s been talked about a ton by the younger generation! they’re saying, ” You show your age with a side part and skinny jeans!” (this is a whole other subject, and I’ll go there another time!) Insert laughter!

Layered over the Shirtdress to show another way to style it is the Eyelet duster. Eyelet fabric is popping up everywhere this Spring, from Swimsuits, dresses, and denim detail.

Although this look has several Spring trends happening at once… It doesn’t scream TRENDY or overdone…. It’s ALL in how you bring the Small details together to pull the overall look off. Allowing you to be on-trend at any age.

#5 The straight leg jean… Don’t worry; the Skinny jean isn’t gone! It’s just taking a back seat to the Straight leg jean. Here I am wearing the Straight-leg jean in a mid-rise and a frayed cropped hem. I prefer the mid-rise to the high rise, as it hit me better on my body as I don’t have a waist and my trouble area is my middle. In high-rise denim, you’ll need to go up a full size, and it really does shorten my already shorter torso. And let’s Talk REAL…I don’t love what a high rise does to my already flat butt:(!

All my height comes in my legs. I am 5’9 1/2 for reference and wear a size 6 to 8, depending on the jean. In this case, it’s the brand Level 99 denim, and these are a size 28 (let’s face it, my size also depends on my fluctuating weight of 10-15 pounds!) THANKS, Midlife, and menopause!

A couple of reasons it’s great to own a straight leg. They look great with the on-trend clog sandals. As skinny jeans could give you that elf effect 🙂 ( Insert Giggle), They really flatter the leg and add a longer leg appearance. And they look great with tops tucked in to show off your waist! Can I say, “Pull out your BELTS!”

(some say HIGH rise but trust me, I tried on or own, and they are ALL mid-rise on me)

This Spring baby doll style dress has the cutest swiss dot details up close, and again we see the Rust color for Spring; it’s even mixed in with the coral and orange scarf I tied to my bag🌻🌷 I purchased the large, and I should have gotten the Medium. There is a lot of fabric (I should have stayed with my true size.) I needed the length of the large. Plaid shirt dress with pearl buttons has a touch of western appeal; I took the touch of Pearl on the buttons to the next level by dressing it up with Pearls, Cluster Pearl and tortoiseshell necklace, layered Pearl bracelets one a Chanel and some tortoiseshell bangles, tortoise hoop earrings, wedge sandals, and headscarf, to finish it off!

9 Things You Needed For Your Fitness Goals In 2021

Let’s talk about fitness

Let’s talk about fitness; not something I talk a lot about. Fitness isn’t something I talk about because, well… I don’t love it! However, s I get older, staying active is even more critical. I’m not a gym girl at all. However, I do love pilates, yoga, and weight classes.

It’s not something I do regularly, but I am trying hard to do it. Adding these in more frequently has been something I am working on. I’ve always been very flexible; this has started to change. Losing my flexibility was something I didn’t want to lose, and I have prioritized staying flexible.

Exercise I do like

I like a good walk with my hubby, friends, or family. A good hike with the girls is always fun and an adventure, and being outside in the fresh air and getting the much-needed vitamin C is how I prefer to get in my exercise.

I know how important it is to keep your flexibility and muscle mass up. This year, I am making a better attempt to add some strength training, a kettlebell, and more yoga and pilates. Adding meditation is new to me but has been much needed for my mind and spirit.

Here are a few pieces I love, perfect for workouts, hikes, and even lounging.

Above, I thought I would share some things I love and use now.

9 Things You’ll love

Lulu lemon sports bra= I love the soft fabric and support.
Lulu Lemon Legging= I love it comes in 3 lengths (I need the longest). Firstly, these are not see-through like some of the Lululemons I’ve had before. Instead, the fabric is butter soft and holds you in.
Yoga mat= I love everything about this mat, the feel, the comfort, and the design.
Northface jacket= I love a puffer jacket, and it is much needed in Utah. Winter and even Spring walks can be very chilly. Warm, comfortable, and stylish.
Water bottle= I love the timelines marked to keep me on track. Drinking a lot of water daily has always been important to me, and this helps.
Kettelbell= 10 pounds, not a ton of weight, but it gives you a good workout.
Meditation cushion= perfect for that quiet time. I love the look and comfort.
Collagen powder= is So essential for your joints and benefits your hair, nails, and skin.
Walking shoes= are so affordable and comfortable. I love the style and comfort.

Collagen is something everyone needs, but even more critical as we age. I add it to my coffee or tea in the morning. I have seen a massive difference in my hair, nails, and, most importantly, my knees.

Yoga is excellent for flexibility, core strength, and your mind. If your weather is nice, try it outside, I promise you’ll love the sense of peace. Not to mention the importance of Vitamin C. Grab a girlfriend if you need a little nudge. (I use a Yoga class on Youtube) You only need 15-30 mins a day to see results. Here’s one I like HERE. I know Fashion for 2020 this far has been a lot of loungewear and cozy at home pieces. I don’t see that really changing, but I do see us moving more towards street style and adding those fun fashion pieces that are easy to wear and move in while adding in some style. You can be comfortable wearing and looking suitable for a zoom session. Let’s face it…it is fun to get dressed even if our social life is a little different.

Saying Goodbye to Summer…Fashion I am packing away!

Do you have those Summer pieces you wore over and over and are sad when it comes time to pack them away? These are pieces that don’t transition into Fall. Summer short, Summer Printed tops and dresses, Sandals you loved, and those perfect Straw hats and Fun Summer Bags. I sure do. These pieces I wore to death all summer long and genuinely hated having to pack them away, Partly because it means the end of summer and partly because these pieces brought me joy all summer long.

The linen shorts HERE from Old navy I purchase in the stripe and four solid colors. So affordable, comfortable, and easy to style. I wore with a tank or graphic tee and if not to hot-finished off with a denim jacket. Shop the whole look HERE. Picking up summer pieces on SALE for next year is always a great idea and like Christmas when you unpack your summer clothing!

My favorite sandal this year by far! I purchased my tan shoes from my girlfriends little boutique Rowan in California. Best purchase ever, I could have worn every day they worked with every outfit I put together. Forcing myself to grab other sandals (lord knows I own plenty!) Those fun straw bags and favorite espadrilles we all love and collect scream all things summer! I am a sucker for cute bags and shoes. They get me every season, but especially in the summer. These are very hard for me to say goodbye. The struggle is so real 🙂 but let’s face it transitioning these cuties into Fall is pushing it. It’s time to say goodbye for now and see you in a year. Bring out the booties and fantastic leather bags, and this Fall, you might even be seeing some fringe. Shop these shoes here.

I like to store all my summer bags in the totes below; Clear bins are perfect so you can see them. I store all my Summer sandals in the shoe storage, also shown below.

I loved the Blazer and Bermuda shorts trend this year, Yes Blazer’s transition great into every season, but as I stated above, shorts are hard, especially in Utah. All though you can wear with a sweater and sweatshirt on chillier evenings or a crisp day, those days are far too little living here in Utah or Mountain communities. Packing these guys away, Tip, I like to roll all my shorts and store in bins showed below. Shop this look HERE

Floral Prints and what to do?

Saying Goodbye to Summer…Fashion I am packing away! My love of floral prints always has me sad to see them go. Fall color florals transition into Fall, so you can keep those out for a little longer, but as I stated above, We should pack away summer florals. Note my favorite sandals here again:)

What do you do with those seasonal dresses?

Dresses can be so versatile and can be great wardrobe builders, but unfortunately, some dresses do scream their season, like above, it truly is a Summer/Spring dress. Find it HERE. Just like a sweater dress is a Fall/Winter dress. If you purchase a ton of this season’s tee shirt dress, You can keep those out and transition those into your Fall wardrobe by adding layers and wearing them with booties or tennis shoes. Suppose you have darker colored or dark or fall printed dresses that transition perfectly as well. Homedecor: Adding a pop of Boho Summer designer pieces to your home. Here I used some high-end designer pieces to decorate for Summer and shared with you the DUPES you could purchase to get the same look at a fraction of the cost. SHOP HERE

Sangria Recipe: I shared this Sangria on my stories, and My DMS were flooded for the recipe. I did say how to make it in the stories and saved to cocktail highlights, but I know a lot of you like a written copy. White Sangria recipe: is a Moscato wine, one bottle of your choice 1/4 jar lemon-lime soda (sprite) 1/4 jar lime La Croix and cup chopped pineapple, cup Strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries. Add all to a glass pitcher or serving jar… The measurements were based on the jar 1/2 the pitcher was the wine, then 1/4 soda 1/4 sparkling water ( hope that makes sense) I did the same for the Red Sangri, a bottle of sweet red wine, 1/4 soda, 1/4 Sparking water and for the fruit I used one apple chopped, 1 cup of grapes cut up and 1 cup blackberries mixed. The best flavor is to make a day ahead. I hope you guys enjoy it because this #sangriawine is a winner in my book.

Charcuterie Board The Instastory that gave me more DMS then I could handle:) My festive Charcuterie Board that has something for everyone and can feed a large gathering. It’s effortless to put together, and many of you asked for a shopping list. Here is what I used this time:

I like to use little dishes on my board to give hight and keep the fruit from making the crackers soggy. Also great for cheese spreads and Hummus. Date-Night. June took us on a much-needed date night out at The Gateway in Salt Lake. We had dinner at Midici’s Neapolitan pizza company than A drive-in Theater experience. If you haven’t been to The Gateway in Salt Lake and live in Utah, you need to make your way down there. The outside dining, beautiful wall art murals, interactive parks, water features, window displays are so pretty and inviting. They have some unique shops and entertainment as well.

Last week I introduced you to Baggallini luggage & bag company. Promising you some easy packing tips and 6-7 outfit looks with just a few pieces of clothing. I am off for a weekend meeting for two days with my @baggallini rolling tote and backpack to help make traveling easy and light. Here are 8 tips I hope you find useful.

I had a quick meeting✈️ , and I stated I’d share my packing tips for creating easy outfits out of just a few pieces to make packing light! I don’t know about you, but I love the ease of 1 carry-on bag! Wanting to look put together and chic without the hassle of multiple luggage. 8 tips for Packing light for a weekend Getaway

#1:

Find luggage that is easy to use, for instance, lightweight and stylish! Not only are these bags stylish, but they are also so functional. The tote is overflowing with compartments for a laptop, documents, clothing, cosmetics. I love everything can have a place with 3 zippered compartments! I like to travel wearing a jacket that can be versatile. This gives you more room in your bag!

Pack items that can mix and match, for instance, allowing you to pack less but create new looks! So what’s in the bag…Pj’s, toiletries, undergarments, laptop, tan wedges, white jeans, button-up top, shirt dress, jewelry….all going with the pieces I am wearing…As a result, I can create 6-7 looks with these pieces!

#4:

Use a divider toiletry bag {here} and purchase the travel-size bottles of everything you regularly use.

#5:

Because I love shoes and could pack a different pair for every outfit! Try to build your outfits out of pieces that work with just a couple of types of shoes. As a result, this keeps your bags lighter and really does help to keep things simple. (In the Winter, I try to wear my boots on the plane and pack the lighter pair.)

#6:

Pack a tide stick & dryer sheet, for instance, to keep your clothes smelling fresh and remove a spot.

#7:

I like to use little snack baggies to pack my necklaces in and keep tangle-free, for instance.

#8:

Pack a variety of jewelry, for instance, some statement earrings, hoops, along with several rings, necklaces & bracelet pieces that work together to give your outfits different looks. Because jewelry is small it takes up little room and yet makes a big impact on finishing an outfit.

If you’ve been following along on my Instagram, you know I’ve been obsessed with scarves lately and even shared a video on ways to wear {Here}. I love that it is a big trend for Spring and happy to share ways you can add this fun little trend into your wardrobe. It’s a trend that every age can wear and incorporate into your wardrobe with out breaking the bank. I don’t know about you but I used to wear scarves and ribbons in my hair back in high school and yes that little thing called a scrunchie! I love it’s back but with a little extra something added.. a scarf! It makes for adding to your hairdos easy. If you don’t want to wear in your hair you can just take the scarf off. I love getting multiple uses out of something. Don’t you?

These scarves also make for great gifts. I give to all my February & March friends for their birthday’s with a pair of statement earrings and a lipstick! They loved! You can even hang one of a bottle of wine like my cute girlfriend did as a gift!

Hello Beautifuls, its been a little while since I’ve posted a blog post and I am so sorry! If you follow my Instagram and my stories I explained my little creative funk. Winter sometimes puts me in the blues and then add teaching full time to the mix and it took all my time. I have finished my long term teaching position and and am ready to poor my heart and soul out here. I’ll have to share about my experience teaching here soon! Valentine’s day is tomorrow and I have been sharing inspiration all over my Instagram for the last couple of weeks and several of you asked to see more everyday outfit inspirations. You ask, I give! 🙂 In this post I wanted to share several looks you could get inspiration from and hopefully copy with similar items you have in your closet. Remember if you don’t have the exact item you can use “like” items… Think graphic tee, sweater, cardigan, leather coat, black jeans etc. I linked items that were in stock and other items that I loved or are similar. I adore the month of February, the month of all things love. My hubbies birthday is first part of the month, then Valentines day and we end with our Anniversary. We have something to celebrate each week and it helps this Winter month to go by FAST. I also love hearts and all things pink and red so i’ve been collecting pieces of clothing, jewelry, and decor that work for the month of love for years! Every year I pick up a couple more things. Don’t worry if you don’t have a huge Valentine collection, just think Pink, red, sparkly and even a touch of leopard. Valentines doesn’t have to be fancy or dressy either (although I always love a chance to dress up), I found I don’t dress up for Valentines (I do for our Anniversary). I normally work and cook a fun festive dinner for my family so I need more everyday looks that are festive and fun. This was the first February teaching school and I wore a fun Valentine look everyday last week and the kids and other teachers loved it. (especially the little girls!) That made my last week of school more fun! One of the things I realized about teaching that kids are so observant and really do love all the Holiday festive clothes and jewelry! (thank goodness I had a bunch of Christmas things to wear for the month of December) If you want to check out my festive Holiday looks I wore they are on my Instagram feed. So after all that… that is the reason for my outfit inspirations! Everyday Valentine’s day looks you can wear day or night.
