5 Ingredient Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Hello Pretty Ladies,

I hope you’re having a beautiful Sunday. Someone keeps shaking the snow globe we seem to be living in, in Utah. I am quiet over winter and ready for sunshine, green grass, and flowers.

Yesterday was our youngest son’s 20th birthday. So naturally, Hampton requested chocolate-covered strawberries as dessert; I had to oblige. Thank goodness his birthday is when strawberries are in season; at least, when we lived in California, they were. We’re lucky our grocery store carries California strawberries, and they happened to have large ones. The larger ones are more fun to dip and have for a main dessert.

I thought you might like to know how I whipped up a batch of chocolate-covered strawberries, in case you haven’t tried making them yourself. You can also watch the REEL I created, So easy and yummy. If you are a home baker like me or just starting, check out the baking list on my Amazon Shops.

5 Ingredient Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Recipe

-Strawberries ( I like good size ones)

1 1/2 Cups chocolate chips
1/2 Cup White Chocolate Chips
2 Tbs butter
3 Tbs olive oil

Wash strawberries and lay them out to dry (they must be dry to dip)

In 2 small glass bowls, add chocolate chips in one and white chocolate chips in the other.

Line cookie sheet with wax paper

In chocolate chip, add 1 Tbs Butter & 2 TBS olive oil

Warm in microwave for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until chocolate is smooth, & melted, and silky looking, Working quickly, dip strawberries and lay them on a cookie sheet. When all strawberries are dipped. You’ll now decorate with white chocolate.

You’ll make the white chocolate the same way as the Regular Chocolate. (Just a smaller amount)

1/2 cup white chocolate, 1 TBS Butter, and Oil. Melt

And if you have a piping bag, you can create pretty white lines. I didn’t have a bag, So I drizzled the white chocolate on the berries. With a spoon.

TIP:

You could also drip the chocolate-covered berries in mini chocolate chips, nuts, or toffee bits.

Dipping Strawberries Size Tip

Using medium or small-sized strawberries to dip works excellent on Charcuteries boards and as a decoration on another dessert and is superior to garnishing a smoothie or cocktail. Large Strawberries make a great main dessert.

Mixed Chocolate Chip Cookies You’ve Gotta Try

Happy Sunday, pretty ladies!

The first day of Spring is tomorrow, and it doesn’t look like the weather in Utah will cooperate. More snow in our forecast.

I was able to catch a little sunshine in St. George this last week, while on a much-needed girl’s trip with my mom. Although not warm, it was nice to see the sun. Catch a little peek at our Trip Here.

Mixed Chocolate 🍪 Chocolate Chip cookies🍪🍪🍪

Recipe:

3/4 cup softened butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 Cup light brown sugar, packet

2 AA large eggs

1 tbsp Vanilla Extract

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

Optional:

1 cup chopped nuts

Tip:

Sprinkle with Sea salt right when removed from the oven.

Preheat oven 375

Combine butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Blend with a mixer until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly with an electric mixer on med speed. Add baking soda and salt. Slowly add flour until thoroughly blended. Fold in Kirkland signature chocolate chips and chopped nuts (optional) with a spatula.

Drop by the spoonful (I like ice cream scoop) onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375• for 9-12 minutes, depending on your desired texture.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies

Tip:

Use parchment paper to line your baking sheets.

I hope you are having a great start to your March; it’s still snowy here in Utah. I am so ready for Spring. If you’ve been following me or reading my blog, you know our family loves Sun Valley, Idaho, and we take two ski trips there a year and have for over 16 years. Ben and I go for Ben’s birthday, and then we take the family every March around Hampton’s birthday, Which is usually always around Spring break. This year we all need sun and sand for spring break, and our switching the Annual Sun Valley trip for somewhere without snow.

Today, I am sharing 7 Restaurants to try, In Sun Valley, Idaho, for you to try on your visit. These are some of our family’s favorites and repeaters for us. I hope you’ll love them as much as we do.

A Little About Sun Val ey

Sun Valley is a great little ski town, home to two significant ski areas and a sister resort to Snow Basin in Eden, Ut. (where we live) It’s in Ketchum, Idaho, with fun little shops and excellent restaurants. We love to stay at The Sun Valley Lodge. You can’t go wrong dining at any of the restaurants on their property, but I have included three of our favorites: The Konditorei, Gretchen’s, and Dutchin’s Lounge.

Konditorei

Fireside coffee and hot cocoa. Fresh-baked European pastries. Casual dining for breakfast and lunch, with an Austrian twist. This is a daily stop for us, as w love, their breakfast, and we like to stop by for an afternoon coffee and treat. This is not to be missed.

Gretchen’s

Adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge lobby, Gretchen’s and The Duchin Lounge provide an exceptional dining experience. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are served daily At Gretchen’s.

Duchin Lounge

A cozy, welcoming bar and lounge serve handmade cocktails, craft beer, and tasty bites in the Sun Valley Lodge lobby.

View Restaurant in the Sun Valley Inn. The Duchin Loung serves unique cocktails & appetizers, “the brussel sprout appetizer is amazing” with a beautiful atmosphere and a nightly live piano player.

Saw Tooth Brewery -The Sawtooth Club has been the gathering place for Ketchum locals and visitors since 1987. And for a good reason! Always warm, comfortable, and welcoming, intimate yet lively. Rustic elegance and sophistication without pretension. The Sawtooth Club is in downtown Ketchum. Happy Hour is from 4:30-6:00. You should arrive at 4:30 for a seat. Dinner reservations are highly recommended.

The Celler Pub– A locals hang out, Good strong drinks (I like their Moscow mule), and a great happy hour. We always meet fun people and have great conversations.

Lefty’s – A local’s hang out, not a touristy spot. Very casual and affordable sports bar serving Grill and bar food. Families welcome, and they have a couple of arcade games for kids to be entertained. It gets very crowded, and you could wait a while for food if you get there at peak hours.

The Roundhouse

They were serving up sky-high lunches and dinners with breathtaking views.

Perched atop the Roundhouse Express gondola at 7,700 feet of elevation on Bald Mountain, The Roundhouse has served memorable meals, soul-warming drinks, and stunning views since 1939. The Roundhouse is America’s original on-mountain dining experience and offers the authentic charm of America’s etched elegance for which Sun Valley is known. Reservations are highly recommended. The view is worth the prices, which are on the higher end.

Ketchum Starbucks– If you’re a Starbucks lover, this is a must-stop! Fun architecture with exciting history, including a vault and Hemingway art, not to mention great photo opportunities.

It helps hydrate and adds fiber, which can help you lose weight while adding many other great benefits that drinking water daily provides.

Here’s a great Hydrating & added Fiber Mocktail recipe using Liquid IV that tastes yummy, adds extra fiber to your diet and helps Hydrate your skin. “Drinking water is like washing out your insides.”

🍋🥒Hydrate & fiber water recipe:

-Water Pitcher

-Cocktail shaker

-Water

-Ice

-Juice of 1 lime

-1/2 cucumber sliced

-Mint (about 12 leaves) muddle if wish✔️

-2 Tablespoons Chia seed

Located just a block from Lake Washington and surrounded by great restaurants and shopping, it is a must-stay when you visit! You are also just minutes away from Shop Totem Lake. The Heathman has a beautiful lobby to cozy up next to the fire with a cup of coffee to start your day. And an excellent onsite restaurant and bar where we shared appetizers and drinks after a long work day.

Shop Totem Lake in Washington is the sister shopping center to Utah’s Station Park, which Dawn and I work with regularly on content creation. Dawn features Totem lake often, and I feature Station Park. We have now had the pleasure of working with each other at our locations while combining work and Play with a girl’s trip.

An excellent spot for a lunch meeting or hanging out with friends. The food was delicious, with several types of fries, from waffles, sweet potato regular fries, and garlic fries.

203 coffee, also located at the shops at Totem lake, is a charming spot to grab a great coffee or warm drink and head out on a walk around the lovely shopping center to get in your steps for the day or shop the beautiful stores while taking in the sites of the center.

A little sleeping in and enjoying a coffee with a view in my room, wearing Print Fresh PJ, of course. (You know these are some of my go-to pj’s) The Heathman has in-room coffee, tea, and comfy couches, and my room had a pretty view overlooking the cute shops across the street.

A Walk & Breakfast at Kirkland bakery right across from the Hotel, and of so good we had to stop by multiple times.

This bakery and coffee house had the best croissants (like I was in Paris, and I am not joking). So good I took a box home for the guys. Everything we tried, we loved. Isn’t that one of your favorite things to do while traveling? Trying out and tasting the foods.

WOODINVILLE WINE COUNTRY

Yes, Seattle has a wine culture; who knew? Dawn and I met one of Dawn’s followers, Karin, for this fun experience. (now Karin and I follow each other and chat via dm daily) Another fun part of our job is building relationships that turn into friendships. We had a fun day experiencing three different wineries, tasting three wines per winery owned and created by women.

Monday – Pike Place Market shopping and Lunch

Checked one off my bucket list, with a little day trip to Pike’s Place. The flowers are stunning, and the shopping and food markets are something to see. We had a delicious lunch and picked up several yummy gourmet jams, cheese, chocolates, and treats to bring home.
