Creating an easy Chicken Nacho Bar

Chicken Nacho Bar, Perfect for Sunday Football is kicking off and that means Sunday Dinners are taking on the fun feel of tailgating. Buffet style✔️🍁🏈 This is also a great idea for a Holloween party.

Most grocery stores have ready-made whole chickens you can pick up. Makes for easy dinners and is a great helper on Football Sundays! Serve with your favorite side dishes or Create a Chicken Nacho Bar, a tailgating style your family will love. Simply remove chicken from bone, shred it up, and serve with all the Nacho fixings. Your family will love the food, regardless of who wins the game.

What you’ll need:

 Chicken

Beans Refried or black beans (I make me bean dip)

Salsa

Pico de Gallo 

Guacamole 

Nacho Cheese sauce

Shredded cheese

Green onions

White onions 

Jalapenos 

cilantro 

Sour cream 

Hot sauces 

Tortilla Chips 

These are the items my family loves to pile onto their nachos, but the ideas are endless and you can include more items your family would love as well. get creative and have fun.

Get your wardrobe ready with this Fall edit of the new season’s trends I’ve spotted. From sophisticated Modern Prep, to cool Biker Chic and versatile Denim Remix, They’re real trends for real life, curated just for you. Fall trends you can wear at any age.

Summer Styles That Can Transition Into Fall Barbie Approved

Get your wardrobe ready with this Fall edit of the new season’s trends. 

Cargo pants – sharing a fun twist with the Satin cargo pants. Great to dress up with a festive top and sparkling jewelry for date night or cocktails.

Coated jeans – are a must from metallic to faux leather, easy to style with a button-up top, or a sweater, or layer them both and add a blazer. Festive for the upcoming holidays as well. 

Denim on Denim – layering denim pieces for a chic, easy Fall outfit. Denim on denim makes a great basic outfit, And you can change its look of by adding a 3rd  piece…. 

TIP: A great 3rd piece could be… a blazer, cargo jacket, Leather jacket a sweater cardigan. The possibilities are endless✔️ Add some texture and pattern with your accessories. Below I added faux calf hair leopard print loafers and a pop of metallic gold with the clutch.

The rich bold color of Red – from Red clothing to a pop of red with accessories. This color is coming in hot for Fall and looks great paired with cream and brown tones.

Tip: red looks good on everyone, just find the right shade that will work on your skin tone.  Picking the right Blue or orange undertones makes a big difference in your skin type

Wide-leg jeans & pants – If you only purchase 1 new Fall item, make it a pair of Wide-leg jeans. So flattering and versatile. Dress them up or wear them casually. Flattering on every body type. Just make sure to wear a tighter top to keep the look balanced. I love the Spanx wide-leg pants and flares. They fit great and flatter every figure. (shared below)

Layering Cardigans and Blazers– Take the traditional Fall cardigan and blazer and make it New by layering the cardigan or vest under the blazer for a chic preppy look. The best Blazers that flatter the figure and taper at the waist are by Gibsonlook (shared below)

Tartan Plaid– a Fall staple🍂 but for 2023, we’re seeing it on everything from shoes and accessories to sweaters, pants, and dresses. Not a pattern for just blazers and coats this season.

Sweater Dresses– Another Fall staple, worn with boots and layered with blazers, denim jackets, and even a leather jacket. In 2023 we’re seeing in in every length and neckline. I love the turtleneck sweater dresses. 

Turtlenecks– Not just for your average ski sweater in 2023… This classic and preppy style is showing up on dresses, tees, lightweight sweaters, and chunky sweater styles. Perfect for fall layering and adding a classic and polished look to any outfit. 

Trends we’re still seeing:

Still going strong are the silky slip dresses, the corset look, Sweater dresses, and the Boxy blazer. We saw them last year.

TIP: Make it fresh by adding in one of this season’s trends. Add a sweater over a slip dress or pair it with a blazer. Wear a boxy blazer over a turtleneck sweater dress, and maybe pair that corset over a turtleneck body suit and wear it with wide-leg pants.

Neutral color tones and fall plaids are always in season this time of the year. 🍂 Fall seasonal go-to’s like these Tartan plaids, turtlenecks, and layering Cardigans and blazers seem to always be on trend for fall.

TIP: Pairing these Fall seasonal go-to’s with something fresh and on trend this season upgrades your fall wardrobe without spending a lot of money.

Easy Homemade Spaghetti Marinara Sauce

Happy Sunday, pretty Ladies,

Today’s “In the Kitchen with D’Arcy,” I am bringing you a crowd favorite. My easy homemade spaghetti marinara sauce is yummy but great for Bolognese lasagna; add meatballs, which I use for my Homemade Meatball sandwiches. You can easily substitute canned tomatoes versus garden fresh. 

With our garden harvest, I can make several jars of my sauce every summer. I’ll share that process in another blog post. 

Easy Homemade Spaghetti Marinara Sauce

Spaghetti Sauce

1 28oz can crushed tomatoes or  (4-6 fresh tomatoes blended) 

1 28oz can of diced tomatoes or (4 fresh tomatoes diced) 

2 6oz cans Tomato Paste (garlic basil flavored)

A large handful (or more if you like) Fresh basil ribbon chopped 

Two bay leaves 

Two tablespoons kitchen bouquet (import for rich flavor and color)

One tablespoon sugar

1-2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 

3-4 tablespoons jar Parmesan cheese sprinkles 

1/2 cup Olive oil 

One med onion chopped 

3/6 cloves crushed garlic 

2 Tablespoons Italian herbs 

1 Tablespoon Oregano 

1 Tablespoons dried Basil

A Tablespoon of Dried onion

One teaspoon garlic salt

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

Directions:

Brown onion in olive oil, and add crushed garlic until golden brown. ADD tomatoes, stir, and add paste stir. Add in all other ingredients, mixing them as you do so. 

Let this sauce simmer on low all day on the stovetop, stirring occasionally, or simmer down in the crock pot.  The longer the sauce simmers, the better. Of course, you could make and serve it for dinner, but this is a proper “Sunday Sauce” your family will enjoy for Sunday dinner.

Hello pretty ladies. I hope your week is going well. Yesterday, I headed to the Nordstrom sale with my sweet friend Cammi, From Cammi’s Happy Place. We had fun shopping at the sale, doing try-ons, and having dinner at the Nordstrom grill. Have you eaten at a Nordstrom grill inside of Nordstrom? The food is always so yummy, and they give you refilled drinks in to-go cups, which is always a plus in my book. 

As you know, I love to share wardrobe builders and great classic pieces from the sale with just a couple of cute and fun trendy pieces. This is a great time to pick up some of the premium denim and more design pieces at a great price, as they usually don’t go on sale any other time of the year. 

I searched the racks for items that would make for great basics and pieces you’ll wear on repeat all season long and for years to come. That is still in stock in both stores and online. Many Premium denim sells out fast, but I found some great pairs still in stock in all sizes and great fitting. Nordstrom does restock often throughout the sale, so it is worth checking back often if you have your eye on something that is sold out.
