Selfcare Sunday, New Year, New You! A great way to start the New Year is by taking time for yourself. Selfcare is really important for your mental health and wellbeing. After the busy holidays and the start of a new year, self-care is the perfect way to refresh and start a new skincare and self-care regimen.

I love to take one of the days on the weekend and set aside an hour or two for a facemask with a complete skincare regimen, a hot bath, refreshing lemon water, which is so important for your body, and some time for my daily devotional or book. I feel nothing like a long soak in the tub with a good book to relax and take your mind off things. It is proven taking time for yourself helps improve mental health, Spark creativity, Boost self-esteem, create empathy for others. And your Skin, body, and mental health will all benefit as well.

Self-care Skincare, do you know the proper order to apply skincare? Did you know there was a proper order to apply your skincare? Finally, there is a proper order to apply your skincare to achieve maximum results and benefits. Below, I share the proper order to apply your skincare for your self-care day. Due to adding in the facemask, these steps are a little longer than the normal daily skincare regimen.

6 New Year questions?

We had 6 New years Questions on our Live Chit Chat Chic about All things New Year’s Eve. It was so fun to hear our following responses, and they loved ours, so I thought I’d share a little recap!

1. Do you Stay in or Go out? Most of our following said to stay in….For us, New Year’s Eve really does depend on the year. Sometimes we do get all dressed up and go out. This year we stayed in, Got in cozies, had the fire going, put on a movie, popped a bottle, and had a beautiful dinner at home, just the two of us.

2. Do you have a New Years Tradition? Our following had answers from having a bonfire (burning their trees), playing games and having a dinner of all appetizers, having a movie night in pj’s, and watching the ball drop. Growing up, my mom always did appetizers and a Charcuterie board (not called that then). We’d sometimes play UNO or Yahtzee, and we always had Dick Clark’s NYE in Time Square on tv. We did almost the same when we raised our family, but our boys liked a movie marathon—all of the Star Wars or one of the Marvel series.

3. Are you a goal setter or prefer setting intentions, or Do you pick a Word? The answers on this one were all over… some Set goals and then set themselves up to Fail (in a funny way), Or some set only a couple of goals so they could work on obtaining several set intentions or picked words.

I do a little of each, and I do make a list. I also create a vision board to go with the list. This list is because I do believe in Manifestation. Our brains are powerful. And I am writing down and visualizing sets the ball in motion. Also, set intentions that are small things I can change or add and make buildable.

I heard about building on small intentions a couple of years ago. Minor changes you want to make… set one a month, and when you accomplish that after 30 days, add another one. Like drinking more water, this was on several lists) add a bottle a day, then two, etc., until you hit your goal.

Then add another intention or habit, like walking, and repeat. I have done this the last couple of years, and it does help. For example, I wanted to walk more and be consistent the previous year! I accomplished it by adding a day and adding miles each time. In addition, I added in my water goal to drink 128 oz a day the year before. These Bottles helped me! Achieve my new habit and stick to it.

4. Do you like a paper planner/ calendar, organizer, or computer program? A paper calendar/planner was by far the most popular. We Could have spent a whole hour on just this topic. All the CCC girls like a paper planner/ organizer. Here is my planner. You can get it in a week at a glance or a day at a glance. I like the day at a glance as it has more room for my lists, to do, work, etc.

5. Do you have 1 Thing you want to accomplish in 2022? Our CCC didn’t have time to answer—kind of hard to respond fast. Here is one of mine=. We want to get our home sold. That would be a great accomplishment for us. So, if you know anybody wanting to relocate to Utah, message me.

6. Are you starting a fitness/ health plan? People loved this one, and most were beginning some diet, exercise journey had a health goal, etc. For example, drinking more water was a significant health goal, so was eating cleaner and cutting out sugar. Some were starting programs etc.

I shared a few of my intentions/build on from years past. – Drinking more water -regular exercise-30 mins of reading- better vitamin regimen-nightly skincare Regimen. I accomplished all of them and still do because of the buildable technique I learned.

This year I am adding more Fiber to my diet, Adding in a new monthly Bible study workbook. Weekly, and adding more fitness in other than walking and Pilates.

Orange Glazed Walnut Salad with Chicken!

Sunday, “In the kitchen with D’Arcy “brings you my Orange Glazed Walnut salad with chicken. With Honey orange Balsamic dressing! Serve alone or with soup and rolls. Perfect for Winter… super easy to whip up!

Recipe: Serves 6

-1 bag of 50/50 salad

-1 bag of Iceberg salad

-4 Grilled Chicken breast chopped

– 1 15oz Can mandarin oranges drained (save the juice for dressing)

– 1 Cup dried Cranberries (great for color)

– 1 1/2 cup Feta or Blue cheese crumbles ( I love the Blue cheese)

-1 6.5oz bag of Emerald Glazed Walnuts

-1 cup Brianna’s creamy Balsamic dressing

1 Tablespoon Honey

-1/2 teaspoon salt & pepper

Salad

Open the bagged salads and give them a good chop, toss them together and plate on six plates, layer or sprinkle the mandarin oranges, chopped chicken, nuts, cranberries, and cheese….

Salad dressing =mix Brianna’s balsamic with 1/2 cup of mandarin juice, 1 Tablespoon Honey and add salt and pepper. Stir

I serve the dressing on the side❤️

I served this salad last night with my Cheesy potato soup, Recipe HERE, Garlic knots, and Buttered & Sugar Speciality cookies. A local Eden, Ut. Baker. As for drinks, I made a homemade Winter Sangria and a Mimosa Bar, along with a bar cart full of make-your-own cocktail choices.

Table setting = Kept it, Winter Simple, with a placemat, wood layer, soup bowl, napkin, place card, copper cup, and party favor.

Girlfriend time is so important, and how fun to get together for the Holidays with a favorite things party! The girls all brought a gift of a couple of their favorite things they’ve loved this year for a gift exchange. We draw numbers, and then you have the option to take a gift or open a gift… It’s so fun to see what the ladies loved this year! I brought A Beanie, Colleen Rothchild Hand cream, and a Jade face roller.

The Best thing about a girlfriend’s night is the time together and getting to chat and catch up. One of the reasons I keep the party small is 6-8 ladies, just the amount that can sit at my dining room table and enjoy a meal and each other. As I have gotten older, I have realized I love smaller, more intimate parties than the Big ones I used to throw! Don’t get me wrong, A Big party has its place, just not as often. Easy Cheesy Scallop Potatoe Recipe, Most Requested

Easy Cheesy Scallop Potatoe Recipe, Most requested side dish by my family and friends.

Easy Cheesy Scallop Potatoe Recipe:

4-5 LG potatoes sliced thin

1 can cheese soup

1/2 cup whip cream (unsweetened)

1 cup milk

1 cube of butter sliced

Cup green onions

2teaspoons salt

2teaspoons pepper

2 teaspoons season salt

1 tablespoon garlic

1teaspoon garlic seasoning

2 cup shredded cheese ( I use Mexican cheese)

1 sprayed casserole dish

Add all ingredients ( except potatoes, green onions, 1 cup of shredded cheese, butter)

Into a bowl, mix well.

In an oiled casserole dish

To Make: Easy Cheesy Scallop Potato Recipe:

Add a thin layer of potatoes, then a light layer of a mixture poured over potatoes, covering, add a couple of slices of butter, repeat… adding a layer of potatoes, then add mixture on top… top with the 1 cup of shredded cheeses sprinkles with green onions.

Cover with foil, place on a cookie sheet, and bake 50-60 min. Uncover, cook until the top is golden brown.

Ovens range in heat… adjust heat to your oven and time May very, due to oven.

Make sure potatoes are almost done before uncovering.

*If serving a large crowd, I’ll double or triple batch and use a large disposable tin pan!

These are such a hit at every gathering, from Family dinner, thanksgiving, and Christmas, that I never have leftovers!

Finding the latest fashions all on display. The staff at all Evereve are so helpful ✔️🖤 They put pieces in our dressing rooms they thought we would love, and of course, we brought in pieces we knew we wanted to try on. Because of this service, they provide it really does help make the shopping experience fun and is convenient for those who don’t love to shop or need help styling.

Pumpkin turtle neck sweater fits true to size ( I am in Med) paired with my new favorite Kut from Kloth Catherine Boyfriend jeans (I wore these with all the tops and jackets below). Yes, they came home with me along with the sweater, and I might be wearing the jeans several times a week!:). Jeans are also true to size, a straight leg, midrise, and super comfortable.

Here is the perfect sweater for fall! Reminds me of Indian corn candy. It’s cozy, true to size, great with any style of jeans, cute with denim or corduroy pencil skirt. This is a sweater that you’ll wear for many Fall seasons to come. (I am in med)

I always love a good striped tee, and this long sleeve tee with little detail at the neck is so soft, you’ll want it in a couple of colors. It fits true to size, can be worn alone or layered. I paired it with the camo shirt unbuttoned and another look with the reversible baseball jacket that is really on-trend this Fall. Both outfits I paired with my all-time favorite sneaker. (This is the coolest sneaker and one of my best-selling items.)

9 outfit inspirations you can easily copy from our girl’s trip to park city Utah Staying at Yotel Pad. Easy looks to transition into Fall, some we even styled 5 ways for you. WE enjoyed working with some amazing brands on this trip, from WHBM, Chico’s, Spanx, Print fresh, Peepers, Station Park, Evereve, and Soma. Showing our style in what we choose, from how we decided to style the pieces. We even decided to pick a couple of things the same ( Spanx jeans & Spanx leggings) and style them differently, giving you 5 ways to wear them.

Spanx Faux leather leggings are one of my favorite closet staples (size up). You can style these in so many ways. Here I styled them with a blazer, white button-up and finished with kicks. Easy to wear with an oversized sweater and boots, paired with a rocker tee and leather or denim jacket, and even with a silk blouse and heels.

The Spanx perfect flare pant in tall. Great for a dressed-up look or business wear. I am taking these to Nyfw next week and will be styling them in multiple ways. Perfect with a white button-up, dressed up like above or worn with a fitted sweater. A pants we could all use in our wardrobe, and very flattering on the leg.
