This easy-to-wear buttery soft dress with pockets is easy to wear and style. With a mock neckline and a tank sleeve style, you’ll wear it all Spring and Summer. You can quickly wear this dress in many different ways, but today I am showing you three ways to style it for work wear, sporty chic, and for travel.

Work Wear

Spanx dress styled with the Spanx blazer.

The Spanx air essentials crew neck sweatshirt is over the shoulders for a fun detail. I chose the cognac color crew neck sweatshirt because it matched my Cecelia New York sandals and tied in with this vegan leather tote.

Finish off the look with Gold Accessories. This is a great professional look for work, a Zoom meeting, or a Business lunch.

This look is also comfortable to wear all day, yet removing the crew neck for a chic dress and blazer look could take you straight to a dinner date.

Sporty Chic

Spanx dress paired with a denim jacket immediately takes it to a more casual look. But take it to sporty chic by adding a fun Ball cap, big silver hoop earrings, White leather sneakers with a bit of silver detail, and a dressed-up belt bag with silver chain detail.

This Sports chic look is great for traveling, sightseeing, sporting events, or grabbing coffee with friends.

Travel Vacation mode

I made the Spanx dress look like a skirt, paired with the Spanx Air essential crew neck sweatshirt, a cute Gigi pip Straw sun hat, an Amazon Find Straw bag, and fun Dolce Vita sandals. The espadrille platform is a fun look.

On a warmer day, you could easily swap out the crew neck sweatshirt for a button-up or oversized graphic tee. Or wear it with no layers.

I think a denim shirt tied around the waist would be cute.

A great alternative to wearing an extra layer is using it as an accessory on a warm day. This gives the layer a look without adding an entire layer.

Fashion Tip:

Adding texture to an outfit with accessories helps create a well-put-together look without much effort.

Think of different fabric mixes, adding texture to a shoe or a bag. Finally, jewelry finishes off the look.

How Hairstyles help create a look

Another thing to consider is how you style your hair for each look. Choose a hairstyle that will compliment the outfit.

Higher necklines look great with hair pulled back to show off the neckline. A top knot is a cute look with a work/office look. Glasses on the head as a fashion statement pull hair away from the face to show the neckline. Looks business-like as well.

Cammi-Cornflower Blue Eleni Maxi coverage dress with pretty little bow details. It is paired with a pop of floral on the Cecelia New York shoes. And finish off the look with an ivory custom coastal clutch. A perfect look for Easter services, Brunch, and would be darling for A bridal shower.

Swap out pieces for a more casual or youthful look:

This dress could be worn in many ways: pull off the shoulders for a less modest way, or add a bunch of turquoise jewelry and cowboy boots for a boho vibe. So cute for festival and concert season.

Kjirstin -Modeling the pantsuit trend in this season’s fresh color trend sage. The Blazer & the Pant was paired with a slightly floral detailed top in sage and pink. Finish the look with the Quilted accessories trend in the shoes and bag. The final finishing touch is Pearl accessories.

The pantsuit is a great alternative to a dress. A fresh and chic look for Spring

Swap out pieces for a more casual or youthful look:

Change up the look, A younger person could swap out the top for a cropped top, and swap out the accessories for simpler pieces. Think simple platform sandals and a belt bag.

Myself– Wearing the Neutral color trend with the Twist on a Shirtdress, a mocha-colored high-low button-up dress. It was paired with a cute Cream cargo cropped jacket and Studded detail neutral sandals. For a bit of Pop of color, a hot pink bag.

Outfits on the Mannequins

1st Mannequin – Med length Denim Skirt, Eyelet top, and pretty bow detail heels. If you don’t love a denim skirt, pair it with Wide leg crops. Works for every age, as shown in the segment.

2nd Mannequin – Hot Pink and Orange – solid Ribbed Tank dress in Orange pairs with a solid Hot pink blazer, Accessorized with A darker orange braid bag for texture and a little pop. Hot Pink tassel earrings and finishing the look with a fun circle detailed, neutral sandal.

Change up for a more youthful look

This look could be worn at any age as well, but to look more youthful, you could add a denim jacket instead of a blazer, swap out sandals for tennis shoes or pass on a jacket and tie a denim shirt around the waist.

3rd Mannequin – A coastal look with a Navy striped ribbed sweater tank dress, Paired with a Navy blazer (Save 10% with code DARCY10) and accessorized with a Neutral Laser cutout bag and sandals. Finished off with a straw hat gives this look the perfect coastal vibe. Cutouts on bags and shoes are a great choice to wear the trend if you don’t feel comfortable wearing clothing with cutouts.

Change up The Look

-Here’s another look that could be worn at any age, but simply changing out a blazer for no jacket or a cargo or denim jacket and changing accessories to simple Converse tennis shoes and a belt bag, would create a more youthful look.

4th Mannequin -Pj Pant suit set, Oversized top & Pants. Easy, breezy, and Chic. Kelly Green is a hot color trend, and paired with black gives it a fun edge. Yet, still very Spring-like. Accessories help take this look from looking like pj’s to looking business chic. The black body suit keeps the eye clean and flattering. A lightweight wax-coated black jacket over the shoulders, gold bow detailed slides, and a black quilted bag with gold trim polish off the look.

Change up the look

Here you could opt to not were the button-up and only wear the bodysuit with the pants, and forgo any jacket. This look would also be just with a denim jacket and a simple sandal or Converse or Ked-type tennis shoe. Swap out a quilted bag for a crossbody bag.

Happy last week of March, can you believe how fast March flew by? I keep telling myself Spring is coming; it is! In the Spirit of Spring, I have a couple of spring photoshoots. I’m looking forward to some fun pieces I can’t wait to wear. With all the great sales lately, I’ve grabbed some fun clothing & accessories I am also excited to share with you.

What are wardrobe builders?

Wardrobe builders are staple/ key pieces you purchase that help you build your wardrobe. I like to make a wardrobe, starting with classic pieces that can help you create many different looks. Then, build a cabinet with 80% good fitting, good quality pieces and fill in with the trends. I wrote more about this HERE.

Ways to Wear these two pieces

The White Gauze button-up top

This gauze button-up is just like the Free people one I own♥️ you can’t tell them apart✔️Wear over a bathing suit, with shorts, or throw over a tank tee dress. 🖤 The many ways you can style this versatile piece genuinely are endless.

I own several white Gauze button-ups, one because I always need one, as I wear them on repeat. And two, I wanted to see if you could tell the difference between the Target $25, Peppered in Leopard$36, and Free People $69 versions. Unfortunately, you really couldn’t unless close up and with touching.

The comparison

The Target button-up is the thinnest but not too light, and the stitching isn’t the quality of the Free People, which is to be expected. The Peppered in Leopard button-up is a perfect dupe. The buttons are different, the stitching is good, and the weight is pretty close. I recommend purchasing it for the price if you want to save money. The Free People’s quality is the best, with excellent stitching, buttons, and gauze fabric, just the perfect weight.

Free People added this Spliced -up Shirtdress Tunic to this year’s Spring lineup, and the fabric is the same Gauze as the button-up. Talk about a cute dress you’ll wear over and over. Cute for concerts and festivals with boots, and so cute for Summer with a cute sandal.

The Straight Leg slim bootcut Jeans

Straight Leg jeans have been a classic style since jeans wear invented. They will always be in style. It’s a classic fit that always looks good. In fashion, styles come and go, but the classic fit never goes far. The type I am wearing above says a slim-fitting flair, but it does fit like straight-leg jeans.

Ladies…Get your butt into this pair. You won’t be sorry! Judy Blue High Waist Control Top raw hem slim bootcut jeans are slim fitting through the waist, hip, and butt with a slim-fitting flared leg. Made of stretchy denim, it will fit you just right without stretching out too much. The control top helps keep your waist slim, and the wash is GORGEOUS, making these a must-have!

3 Everyday Looks You Can Wear On Vacation

Hello Pretty Ladies,

How did the start of daylight savings go for you? We’re up early. Today was no different, and it was snowing yet again. With that said, we decided to stay home and chill. By chill, I mean I stayed in pj’s, did a facial, read scriptures, and had a slow morning.

I did get the laundry done, Ben shoveled snow, and we made a big Asian dinner. I worked on social media, my Liketoknowit, and my blog. So, we had a productive day, even though it was quiet at home.

It was nice not having to get ready and having a relatively relaxing day. I leave for St George on Wednesday to meet my mom for Vintage Market days, Zion, and a little girl time. It’s been a couple of months since I’ve seen her, and I look forward to spending time with her.

Spring is coming

With the first day of Spring coming in a couple of days, and Spring break coming up fast, I thought I would share some great basics from Chico’s. Easy to pack, wear traveling, and mix and match all Spring and Summer.

We had the pleasure of combining work and play for a fun Girl’s weekend. Shopping, Hair, nails or a spa day, wine tasting, watching a movie, and dining are always delightful on a girl’s trip in Kirkland, Washington.

A little look back at my girl’s weekend with Dawn. We stayed at the beautiful Heathman Hotel in Kirkland, WA. Located just a block from Lake Washington and surrounded by great restaurants and shopping, it is a must-stay when you visit! You are also just minutes away from Shop Totem Lake. The Heathman has a beautiful lobby to cozy up next to the fire with a cup of coffee to start your day. And an excellent onsite restaurant and bar where we shared appetizers and drinks after a long work day.

Shop Totem Lake in Washington is the sister shopping center to Utah’s Station Park, which Dawn and I work with regularly on content creation. Dawn features Totem lake often, and I feature Station Park. We have now had the pleasure of working with each other at our locations while combining work and Play with a girl’s trip.

An excellent spot for a lunch meeting or hanging out with friends. The food was delicious, with several types of fries, from waffles, sweet potato regular fries, and garlic fries.

A little sleeping in and enjoying a coffee with a view in my room, wearing Print Fresh PJ, of course. (You know these are some of my go-to pj’s) The Heathman has in-room coffee, tea, and comfy couches, and my room had a pretty view overlooking the cute shops across the street.

A Walk & Breakfast at Kirkland bakery right across from the Hotel, and of so good we had to stop by multiple times.

This bakery and coffee house had the best croissants (like I was in Paris, and I am not joking). So good I took a box home for the guys. Everything we tried, we loved. Isn’t that one of your favorite things to do while traveling? Trying out and tasting the foods.

WOODINVILLE WINE COUNTRY

Yes, Seattle has a wine culture; who knew? Dawn and I met one of Dawn’s followers, Karin, for this fun experience. (now Karin and I follow each other and chat via dm daily) Another fun part of our job is building relationships that turn into friendships. We had a fun day experiencing three different wineries, tasting three wines per winery owned and created by women.

Krista & Julie are fellow Bloggers/Instagrammers living in Kirkland and Dawn’s good friends. We also have built a friendship on Instagram. One of the best parts of traveling is connecting with those you’ve made friendships with online.

Monday – Pike Place Market shopping and Lunch

Checked one off my bucket list, with a little day trip to Pike’s Place. The flowers are stunning, and the shopping and food markets are something to see. We had a delicious lunch and picked up several yummy gourmet jams, cheese, chocolates, and treats to bring home.

It’s a great time to show appreciation for the strong bonds between women!
