5 Way’s to wear Camo pants

Today I want to share a couple of fun tips with you!

Styling a pair of Camo pant’s 5 ways and different looks you can achieve with Camo pant’s, from casual to dressy. I love it when you can get different looks from one piece of clothing and I often tell my clients to think of more then one way to wear a piece of clothing before they purchase it. This really does help with over purchasing and finding piece you’ll get a lot of use out of.

Tips to camo….. First off you don’t have to stick to its Olive & black color theme. In the first photo I did a playful outfit with a colorful fur vest! (that $8 deal I told you about in instastory!) The trick to this look is I anchored the bold vest with neutral black turtleneck and boots. The other tip is the vest had 2 of the colors in it as the camo, olive and black! This helps 2 patterns to play together.

2nd outfit giving camo pants a dressier feel! Camo has a bit of a casual and weekend feel, but you can dress it up like I did here with pairing it with a chic black leather jacket, black turtle neck or sweater, and fun accessories and classic shoes.

3rd outfit is a great Winter weekend or casual outfit. Stripes with camo works when the stripe is bolder and has 1 color of the camo in it. In this case it’s a bold Black stripe. Paired with Winter accessories this gives a fun and playful vibe.

4th outfit is a fun way to add some Spring to your camo pants. I paired with a gingham off the shoulder top and an olive duster vest. The solid olive duster vest is what grounds the two patterns. Wearing the gingham and camo together only, you wouldn’t achieve the same look. Don’t have a olive duster? Think Olive jacket, vest or cardigan.

5th outfit is casual and piece’s everyone owns! Denim jacket, saying tee, Tennis shoes. Great look for a sports game, running kids around or shopping. This is a look that you can easily achieve and what makes it fun is the bold cuff bracelet.

A lot of these pieces are old and sold out but I am linking some similar pieces below along with some great sale items and SALES. Look in your closet and see what you have to try and copy one of the looks (or ALL)….Doesn’t have to be exact, Fashion is fun so play around with it.

22nd Wedding anniversary outfit & date night!

Our 22nd Anniversary is tomorrow February 25th.

I am so lucky to have been able to spend 25 year’s with my dream man. We dated for 3 years before we got married on that Winter storm day 22 years ago. The day that changed my life forever. I got to marry MY dream man and spend forever with the person who “got me” who made me feel safe and supported my dreams and goals. Had the same morals and we fit, we’re better people for having each other. He’s my perfect lid as the saying goes…I truly believe everyone has a perfect lid for there pot…if you wait your’s will cross your path in Gods perfect timing.

People say Marriage is hard…..hmmm I would answer “depends on who you marry!” Marriage in my experience has been a wonderful, loving, joyful and caring endeavor. Don’t get me wrong Life is hard… not marriage. Life isn’t always roses and butterflies we all have hard issues that come up. Whether it’s your health, finances, children issues and even families. There’s always things that take us on life’s roller coaster, it’s who’s on the ride with you that can make marriage easy or hard. When you find that perfect lid, getting through life’s hard times can make it easier. I can honestly say we’re lucky…we don’t fight or bicker and rarely disagree. We seem to have always been on the same page and truly like each other. He’s my best friend and I enjoy spending time with him. I couldn’t imagine life without him. Still to this day he gives me butterflies when he walks through that door!

Hitting 22 years of marriage is a true blessing. In today’s age 50% of marriages won’t make it to 10. I really think being able to grow together as we age is one of the tickets. Taking time for our relationship along the journey helps you stay connected to each other. It’s hard to take time for yourself and your relationship when raising a family and both working full time. It’s something you must do. Going on dates, little getaway’s and even time alone at home is great for staying connected. Remember to also take time out for yourself and allow him to do the same. This gives you both time, to do things you love that maybe your spouse doesn’t. Plus having friends is good for your soul. (yes… it’s ok to enjoy different activities!) My Hubby lives, breathes and works in Ski boots! Yuck!! I don’t love to ski…It hurts my feet! I can ski (not like my husband or our boys) but I ski…on pretty sunny Spring skiing day’s! I don’t love Winter and I really don’t like being cold. Yes… We moved to Utah from California 11 years ago. Going off on another subject..and I could go on and on about our big move and how it changed our lives in so many ways. Most for the best, but I’ll talk about that another time. Now back to Marriage…

I had a list in my head of the perfect man (do or did you?) Ben checked everything off on that list plus things I never could have thought of…. Except 1 thing he’s not romantic..hehehe If you know me it’s a running little joke… he’s thoughtful and caring and sexy has hell, but not romantic! I am not going to get flowers for no reason, great gifts just because, a warm bath drawn or beautiful written notes. But I do get a cup of hot tea in the morning and if it’s not ski season I get breakfast in bed on Sunday’s. He cooks, does laundry, is tidy and always removes ALL the snow to the cement! (Remember I don’t like Winter or ice on my drive way or walk way’s) He keeps my car detailed and would do anything I asked for help with…even if it’s to paint a bedroom for the 5th time. So some would say thats romantic! Well…..wait tell you find out he never asked me to marry him!!! Yup it’s true we’ve been married for 22 years and I was never purposed to!!! I was robbed..OX (that’s another story)

So about that perfect day 22 year’s ago… It was the Biggest snowstorm in Big Bear had had in many year’s….Not so perfect to me, talk about stressed! Wedding day’s are so stressful all that planning and preparing for the perfect fairy tail day. Having things go wrong that is out of your control. Choosing joy over stress and by seeing the positive in the negative is how you find the joy…My perfect day or was it? It’s all attitude

We looked so young! I was 25… Look at my hair it’s past my elbows! I don’t think I could have gotten a bigger headpiece!!!

2. He kissed me as soon as I got to him😘 “ Pastor Fred said”that’s later Ben!”

3. My mom stopped the wedding… because my 10ft train was standing in the hall😜 ( my sister didn’t snap in on correct💕) So we had a start over😜😜😜

4. It was the biggest snow storm in years! I was panicked all day, our photographer, cake and guest weren’t going to make it to the destination! They did… ( Well some of the guest got stuck😜)

5. My brother had to carry me on his back to the venue from the bridal suite… the snow was so deep❄

6. We got married by candlelight at 6:00pm❤ The flowers were stunning, my cousin sang, all my loved ones were there. It really was like a moment that stood in time💕

7. I danced with my grandpa to Unforgettable by Nat King Cole.

8. My aunt crash her car into another guests❄❄❄ just slide right down the hill!

9. My mom recorded the most beautiful & thoughtful speech ever! (she had to record it because she knew she’d cry saying it live!

10. I married my sole-mate and he still gives me butterflies

11. The day couldn’t have been more perfect💕 Well… I should have change my vail! (But it was 1996!)

12. I hope you take away from this …. that while not everything IS perfect… We can make it perfect:) It’s just how we handle the situation and keep the right perspective

13. I got my perfect day I married my dream man❤💍 even though there was no romantic proposal!

14. All my husbands Dutch relatives surprised us from Holland!

15.Wait for it….Because I am a sport and I love this man….He skied fresh powder the next morning with all his buds! How could I let him miss 5 feet of fresh powder!!!

We are headed to Salt Lake to enjoy a nice dinner and A night alone at the Hotel Monaco a Kimpton Hotel then Martinis at the Martini bar across the street. Monday we will have a full day at the spa so looking forward to that.

Found…My New Favorite Jeans!

Finding your new favorite jeans at an affordable price just got easier….

You know I love the brand Kut from the Kloth! I have made references prior. Here is a detailed prior post… I love that Kut from the Kloth is a brand that Chic Style Clothing boutique carries and they make sure to carry ALL the new releases for each season along with the Boutique exclusives. Last season Kut made the Connie frayed Ankle skinny in a dark wash with modell in it! It feels like butter and fits like a glove. I fell in love and grabbed 2 pairs of the frayed bottom cuties….WELL….For Spring they designed this FAB jean with a cute side slit and unstructured hem, perfect paired with booties. This jean fits amazing and truly fits every body type from 0-14 petite or tall and looks great with anything you pair with it. Day to Night Affordable Metallic outfit Idea

Seeing Stars and loving all this seasons’s metallic’s. Kut from the Kloth Jeans & Star sweater on SALE for $24, Tassel earrings Nordstrom ombre sold out so I linked the Solid colors.

I love that you can use this outfit day or night and that it really can be causal simply because it’s a Sweater & Jeans. Change out the Shoes and accessories to simple studded earrings and converse or bootie and you have a casual look. Looks that can change from day to night with just swapping out a couple of pieces makes going from work to dinner with ease.

If you have been following me for awhile you know I am a big fan of Kut from the Kloth jeans. I love how they fit so when they come out with a new wash (this Metallic) or body style I am always up to grab a pair! The fabric is stretchy and the metallic gives them some glam.

Way’s you can try the metallic trend without breaking the bank…..

The metallic’s this season add a playfulness that any age can wear without being over the top. Really who doesn’t want a little sparkle! Not sure how you feel about metallic’s? If you notice I rarely have on a basic pair of shoes….Shoes can finish the outfit or Make your outfit pop! Next time you go shoe shopping… Pick the color over black or grab a print! Make a statement! Kicking off the New year with New Glitter booties!

Of coarse you know I’d kick of the New Year with NEW shoes:)…..(One of my FAVORITE things!) When I spotted these glittery cuties I really couldn’t pass them up and on SALE! I texted hubby and asked him if he wanted to get me a pair for Christmas (excuse because I would have bought them anyway!) Of coarse I had to wrap them and put them under the tree… Who else has to do that? These cuties really can be paired with a lot of items in your closet. I love how the dress up a simple sweater and your go to jeans!

About the look…This simple striped sweater is up to date with the flared sleeve Similar sweater and gives it a fun on trend detail. Paired with my favorite go to Distressed denim skinnies ( unfortunately this brand is no longer) I linked similar Jeans Here and Here. Do you set resolutions? I really don’t set a list of Resolutions but I do set goals… I set Goals for every day, week, and month. I feel it’s a easier way to reach them without the pressure of sticking to something for a whole year! (the stress of failure!) I can accomplish more looking at it as a daily goal (steps) working to the bigger. Then when the year comes to and end I can see all the ways I grew instead of failed! Maybe you could take the baby step way and set your daily goal, that helps you reach your main goal….Good luck! I think everybody loves a fresh start!

I wanted to share a couple of my goals for 2018 with you, I have a big list so I won’t bore you and list them all. I thought It would be fun to share my list throughout the month.

New Years eve outfit using my hubby’s velvet tuxedo jacket!

Happy New Year!

Wishing you all the best in 2018 with many blessing’s and I hope you can make ALL your dreams come true.

I wanted to share with you a fun little outfit I created for New year’s with my favorite item from my Hubby’s closet! He’s velvet tuxedo jacket (Jcrew)…Although it’s a little big it works! It adds balances with having tight bottoms. I paired it with a fun sequins tank top (old), black jeggings by Kut from the Kloth, metallic rose gold Clutch similar here and New Years worthy shoes by Badgley Mischka similar here.

I love thinking outside the box when it comes to creating a outfit and who say’s everything has to be new! Go dig in your hubby’s closet & see what you could barrow to dress up. I also like to search through my closet and find pieces I haven’t worn in awhile and create an outfit from that piece. In this case I found this cute cream sequined tank top. It’s amazing what can get “LOST” in your closet!

I don’t know about you but I really do like to stay home for New Year’s eve. (every once in awhile it’s fun to go to a party) Growing up it was Tradition to get into Pj’s, cousins came over to play games & watch movies and my mom made a appetizer dinner for snacking all night and we tried to stay up for the ball drop. Having this kind of night with my family is relaxing after all the hustle of the Holiday’s. What’s your New year’s tradition?

Fall textile trends you’ll love…Styling for Fox13 The Place today!

So excited to share the textile trend this Fall with you. This Fall you will be seeing a lot of Chunky knits, embroidery and Velvets. This will be on clothing, shoes and bags. I love that we’re seeing a lot of texture and that some old favorites are making a come back. As for you feet…booties are bigger than ever!

Happy Tuesday Beautiful’s! This Topic has been weighing on me for awhile now and I decided it’s time to share! Social Media is ALL about the latest and greatest! Current trends and everyone always trying to sell you something! I don’t want you to feel like I am always try to sell you something, I want for you to think of me as a resource, A person you can trust and get advise from! Now…I get a lot of messages and text as to where I got something or what brand, So I will always list links to what I am sharing or maybe something like it to make it easier for you. If I am working with a company it is truly because I love it and am honored to collaborate with them!

As A girl that has always loved FASHION and yes making sure I was on TREND and current, I never felt you had to clear out your closet or Always buy NEW! (Now I am not saying never clean out your closet!)I mean to start Fresh every season…. For most that just isn’t available with the budget! I like to stress to my clients spend your money on classics and buy the affordable Trendy pieces! Classics are just that CLASSIC…classic pieces will last you forever and stay IN forever or come back IN…in a couple years! This White leather jacket to me is a classic staple piece. It’s a piece that you can have for years and bring it in and out of your wardrobe with nobody guessing it’s age! ( Mines 8 years old) Classic pieces are worth spending good money on when you divide it by the years of use it becomes pennies! Expensive pieces fit better and really do wash and wear 10x better (one of the reasons they last so long!) Purchasing new is fun and buying Trendy pieces for the season helps keep your Classic pieces looking NEW and on trend!

Breaking down how you can make your OLD pieces look new… Here I am Not wearing anything Newer then 9 months…. My distressed Jeans are 9 months old, my Shoes and necklace are 2 years old or older and my numbered tee is over 4 years old! Nothing NEW… But this outfit still looks on Trend….Why, well if you break it down I am wearing a classic leather jacket, number and Vintage tee’s always look chic, A fun pair of embroidered heels dress up any outfit! Now Embroidery is Hot hot hot this season….Let me tell you it comes and goes on the trend alert but I have some very beautiful and expensive embroidered pieces I’ll never get tired of, I love them and that is a key to buying… I might not wear for a couple of seasons but that embroidery always comes back around… Distressed jeans have been HOT for a couple of seasons Now, these keep the outfit on the Chic side! When I find A jean I like a do buy a couple pairs, you can normally tweak your jean collection to be on trend. A snip here or a hem here or fray the hem…etc! My statement necklace… Statement necklaces aren’t a huge trend right Now. (I really kept this because it matched the shoes perfectly!) but the big pop of color really works with this outfit and adds a fun element!

Happy when I can look in my closet and pull clothes together that can make a ON TREND outfit with not a lot of NEW! Trends come and go so make sure it’s something you love…You’ll get years of use out of it!

Tuesday’s Tip=Shorter shorts after 40

Tip: Switching your shoes from a wedge to a flat give a totally different feel to the outfit! Went from Date night outfit to Lunch or shopping!

Tuesday’s Tip= Wearing shorter shorts after 40!

Let’s face it as we age our body and skin changes. Some people say you can’t wear shorter shorts after 40! I feel if you have great legs or work hard to stay fit go for it!

I have some tips for wearing shorter shorts after 40 to stay classy and not like your trying to look 20!

Use A great self Tanner, It helps hide flaws and Tan legs look great in shorts! Sorry and I know I’ll get flack for saying it but white legs are just a NO in your 40’s in shorter shorts! In your younger years you could get away with anything! Not now…Get a great self tanner! See my favorites in my prior blog post…self tanner’s

Shorter shorts means a 5 inch inseam NOT a 3 inch cheek showing short! I don’t care how great your body is leave the 3 inch booty shorts to the teenagers!

To keep your outfit balance and too not look like your going clubbing don’t wear a sexy top with shorter short! Yes.. I am wearing a off the shoulder top but its chambray and has a feel of day time.

Wear a wedge it lengthens the leg and really does give the appearance of toner legs.

Pilates and the elliptical really do keep your legs in great shape!

I am really lucky and never really had an issue with cellulite (stretch marks yes!) I am not sure as to why not, I have read its a inherited trait but my tip would be I use coconut oil everyday in the shower after drying off! I also exfoliate my body with a sugar scrub every week!

I hope your age doesn’t stop you from feeling like you can’t dress the way you want! You can be chic and fashionable at every age! OX, D’Arcy
