Day to Night Affordable Metallic outfit Idea

Seeing Stars and loving all this seasons’s metallic’s. Kut from the Kloth Jeans & Star sweater on SALE for $24, Tassel earrings Nordstrom ombre sold out so I linked the Solid colors.

I love that you can use this outfit day or night and that it really can be causal simply because it’s a Sweater & Jeans. Change out the Shoes and accessories to simple studded earrings and converse or bootie and you have a casual look. Looks that can change from day to night with just swapping out a couple of pieces makes going from work to dinner with ease.

If you have been following me for awhile you know I am a big fan of Kut from the Kloth jeans. I love how they fit so when they come out with a new wash (this Metallic) or body style I am always up to grab a pair! The fabric is stretchy and the metallic gives them some glam.

Way’s you can try the metallic trend without breaking the bank…..

The metallic’s this season add a playfulness that any age can wear without being over the top. Really who doesn’t want a little sparkle! Not sure how you feel about metallic’s? Try it in a small dose! Like the sweater I am wearing. It’s on sale which makes it a reasonable way to try a trend. Want to make a bolder step? Try the jeans.. I really feel the shoes can make or break the outfit. Buying different & unique shoes can take a regular pair of jeans and a plain tee or sweater into a statement outfit. If you notice I rarely have on a basic pair of shoes….Shoes can finish the outfit or Make your outfit pop! Next time you go shoe shopping… Pick the color over black or grab a print! Make a statement! Get the shoes girl!!!

I have been lucky enough to have had a monthly fashion segment on Fox 13 The place, once a month for the last year and half. It’s been really fun to share affordable & on trend fashion and easy to create looks for every age especially us moms. To see past shows visit my blog post here…. The excitement for the Holidays can put your makeup routine on the back burner or least zap your energy when it comes to getting ready for that dreaded company Christmas party or neighbors fancy block party. But with some festive and easy ideas you will be ready to show off your Good ‘Ole Saint Nick Ho Ho Ho vibes.

This festive season pairs great with a perfect red lip. My favorite cult go to for the Holidays is M.A.C Cosmetic’s very first retro matte lipstick that is still a worldwide favorite, Ruby Woo. A True red lip that will stay all night especially if you make sure not to skip the lipliner. Using a lipliner will make your lipstick look neat, not sloppy, and it will help keep it where we want it to stay. The easiest way to achieve this is by lining the whole lip line with Cherry Lipliner from M.A.C Cosmetics than fill in the whole lip with the pencil. This is an easy way to make your lips a little fuller by going just a tad over the natural lip line. Lip liners are also a great way to make the lip even on both sides, makeup is great for optical illusions. Any true red lipstick and lip liner combo can work, I just like to use my tried and tested favs.

To add more spice to this bold lip you can add a red, gold or silver glitter on top, just pat the glitter into the freshly applied lipstick, than blot a little with a kleenex. Just dab a small amount at first and remember that glitter is the gift that keeps on giving. If the glitter gets on your skin, you can use some scotch tape to remove the little unwanted glitter flecks. For an even bolder lip use a darker lipliner such as burgundy, dark purple or black. but only outline the natural lip line than apply the lipstick and finally use a lip brush to blend the lipliner into the red lipstick. We call this an ombre lip and please have fun with different combos of colors. Makeup is suppose to be fun and to show off your confidence. Rock that bold lip at your Holiday Party!

When I do a red lip on myself or my clients, I like to finish the look off with pretty skin and to get that try Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, a little contour try Hoola Bronzer by Benefit or Sculpt Contour Powder by M.A.C Cosmetics, a pretty highlight try Hourglass highlights or Wet & Wild Highlights at your nearest drugstore, a peachy tone blush like Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso sold at Drugstores, a well groomed brow try using Anastasia Brow Powder Duo, a black eyeliner on top try Blacktrack or Boot Black Liquid eyeliner both by M.A.C Cosmetics or bottom eyeliner try Revlon Colorstay pencil in black and complete with a pretty set of lashes I love M.A.C Cosmetics lashes in #48, #36 and #35 or try House of Lashes.

If a bold lip is not in the cards for you or you want to put more focus on your eyes, than go for a dark emerald green smokey eye. I love this look all over the lid and blended up into the crease. I use a soft brown matte eyeshadow to blend it out, than add a touch of a light shimmery eyeshadow just under the brow bone and inner corner of eye. I use a black eyeliner on lower lash line and than blend that out with the dark green eyeshadow. Add lashes to increase the dramatic effect or lots of mascara. A fun way to draw attention to the eye is to embrace metallic in your eyeshadow. This isn’t as messy as using glitter. Bronze, gold, and silver are a great option for a metallic eye.

Adding volume to your Holiday cheer this season with a ruby red lip, glitter, smokey sexy eyes and a lush lash will put you in a jolly mood. You want to stand out for having an ultra-chic look not a messy over the top one. When you focus on one feature on your face and keep the others polished, you will have winning Holiday look.

I don’t know about you but I never really wanted to look UGLY or dorky! (I always wanted to be something pretty or cute for Halloween!) Really …..Wait for it… I really never loved Halloween! I love getting dressed up Pretty for a party, dance or Black tie event….But costumes No!

The Ugly Christmas Sweater Party has become more and more popular and like “Halloween” for Christmas! At least at my Girlfriend Kjirstin’s Annual Sweater party! Don’t get me wrong it’s a hoot of a party! we’ve had the Griswolds, Whoville’s and some crazy ugly sweaters! It’s a great night and really fun to see what people come up with! As for me…. I’ll take the Chic route:)

Easy way to “CHIC” up that Christmas sweater…is A ..pick a cute one, Wink! Snowman sweater was Nordstrom last year… A cute choice here B wear you festive pants= red jeans or like shown above Silver Kut from the Kloth jeans or Black Leather pants! Don’t you just love the smell of Christmas?

I love all the different smells of Christmas, Holiday baking, Smells of cider and cinnamon but my Favorite is the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree! We’ve always had a fresh tree in our living room and this is the first years we have a fake Tree…. I was really missing the smell…Until my Cute Friend gave me this Candle by Thymes called Frasier fur It really is the perfect Pine tree scent. I purchased more at a cute Local gift shop called Treasure Basket in South Ogden, Utah.

This Candle comes in every size and a bunch of cute options to match your Holiday look! Burns clean (meaning if you burn it long enough it doesn’t leave wax along the sides!) TIP: Always make sure you have enough time to burn a candle, lighting for a short amount of time will ruin the burn flow and leaves the wax building up on the sides! Makes a great Gift!

Giving back….How YOU can plan a Homeless giving bag night!

I thought I would share with you one of my favorite nights of the year….. Our Annual Service project for the Homeless “giving bags” I started organizing this event 3 years ago with the idea if a family could make 5 to 10 bags a family “what could a community come together and do?” “Well it Takes A Village”

Is a true statement! My first year I set a goal of 100 bags and made a list of items I felt would be helpful to people in need, created a Facebook event with my idea and the list of items and a start date for collecting items and a Assembly date . Letting them know I would provide Refreshments and treated it like a Holiday party!

Here is A sample of what I sent out on a Facebook event for this Year with a goal of 300 bags!

It’s our 3rd annual Homeless Giving bag service project assembling Night… We did 220 bags last year and I would love to do 300 this year!

For those of you that helped, donated and assembled … We deliver a large portion to the streets of salt lake and Ogden & then families take 5/6 bags and Handed out to Homeless in need ALL year! It was a great way to give back and help people in need on the Street!

Donations can be dropped off at my home…. NEED BY NOVEMBER 27th…..Here’s or list of Items were looking for….(Any amount is perfect you don’t have to get all 300 of an item) Please just comment what your getting and how many so we can keep track of what’s needed❤️ Assembly night will be December 3rd ( A Donation of time is wonderful too for assembly night!)

As the items start arriving I keep track and keep adjusting our needs on the event page. As we get to the last week of donation deadline I put out a need on a regular Facebook post and other social media….. I feel blessed people always come through. People really do want to help and do care to help a good cause. We’re lucky to live in a great community of wonderful people who want to give back.

We started a family tradition with handing out our giving bags….We have a couple of other families go with us to Salt lake. We enjoy dinner at Cheesecake Factory, See the lights at Temple square and hand out bags with our families at a couple of shelters. It’s always an emotional night 1. there is so many in need you feel heartbroken 2. It really helps you count your blessings 3. It warms your heart to see peoples face when you give them a bag 4. Your children (any age) really love being apart of something so special.

You too can start a” Giving bag” service project start small 50 bags and ask your family, friends, neighbors and community members! You’ll be shocked how fast your bag items add up!

Styling Cute Fall Trends with Kut from the Kloth Clothing brand. If you have been following me for awhile you know I am a huge fan of Kut from the Kloth. They make a jean body for every figure and their fit is amazing. If you haven’t tried Kut…. You really must. If you had and didn’t LOVE… You must go try on another body style because there is a body style that will fit and YOU will LOVE.

Kut doesn’t just make denim… they make the cutest tops, jackets and dresses. The quality is Amazing washes up fabulous and has a classic timeless feel with current trends. I was very happy to do a whole fashion segment on just their brand as it’s one of my favorites.
