Hello Pretty ladies,

Happy Friday, sharing a little weekly recap with “Friday Catch Up.” Are you ready for the weekend? I look forward to a girl’s day with my girlfriend and Saturday celebrating our son’s birthday. On a different note, the weather in Utah seems like we’re living in a snow globe that someone keeps shaking, which makes it hard to get into Spring mode. However, I am trying and have purchased some cute pieces I am excited to share with you next week. I enjoyed sharing some great Spring basics and a little of what I’ve been wearing lately.

Guess what? Did you guess it was snowing again in Utah? You’d be right! I am so over it and really can’t wait for Spring. Today I am headed to lunch to meet some fun blogger friends I met online but haven’t met in person. One of the best things about social media is the friends you meet. I have learned hair takes the oil it needs, when you apply just a couple of drops to the palms of your hands, rub them together and apply them to the hair. Only use it in the middle and ends of my hair, avoiding my roots. This has helped with the brittleness and added shine back into my hair.

My Hair is oily, but as I age, it is getting dryer and dryer.

Changing up my hair do’s is something I like to do, so I do my part, for how I am feeling that day. I also like to wear braids, top knots, side do’s, twists, etc.

Do you do your hair down or up?

This question is answered above, as I like to wear my hair differently daily.

Mixed Chocolate Chip Cookies You’ve Gotta Try

Happy Sunday, pretty ladies!

The first day of Spring is tomorrow, and it doesn’t look like the weather in Utah will cooperate. More snow in our forecast.

I was able to catch a little sunshine in St. George this last week, while on a much-needed girl’s trip with my mom. Although not warm, it was nice to see the sun. Catch a little peek at our Trip Here.

Mixed Chocolate 🍪 Chocolate Chip cookies🍪🍪🍪

Recipe:

3/4 cup softened butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 Cup light brown sugar, packet

2 AA large eggs

1 tbsp Vanilla Extract

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup dark chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

Optional:

1 cup chopped nuts

Tip:

Sprinkle with Sea salt right when removed from the oven.

Preheat oven 375

Combine butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Blend with a mixer until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly with an electric mixer on med speed. Add baking soda and salt. Slowly add flour until thoroughly blended. Fold in Kirkland signature chocolate chips and chopped nuts (optional) with a spatula.

Drop by the spoonful (I like ice cream scoop) onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375• for 9-12 minutes, depending on your desired texture.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies

Tip:

Use parchment paper to line your baking sheets.

Hello Pretty Ladies,

How did the start of daylight savings go for you? We’re up early. Today was no different, and it was snowing yet again. With that said, we decided to stay home and chill. By chill, I mean I stayed in pj’s, did a facial, read scriptures, and had a slow morning.

I did get the laundry done, Ben shoveled snow, and we made a big Asian dinner. I worked on social media, my Liketoknowit, and my blog. So, we had a productive day, even though it was quiet at home.

It was nice not having to get ready and having a relatively relaxing day. I leave for St George on Wednesday to meet my mom for Vintage Market days, Zion, and a little girl time. It’s been a couple of months since I’ve seen her, and I look forward to spending time with her.

Spring is coming

With the first day of Spring coming in a couple of days, and Spring break coming up fast, I thought I would share some great basics from Chico’s. Easy to pack, wear traveling, and mix and match all Spring and Summer.

I hope you are having a great start to your March; it’s still snowy here in Utah. I am so ready for Spring. If you’ve been following me or reading my blog, you know our family loves Sun Valley, Idaho, and we take two ski trips there a year and have for over 16 years. Ben and I go for Ben’s birthday, and then we take the family every March around Hampton’s birthday, Which is usually always around Spring break. This year we all need sun and sand for spring break, and our switching the Annual Sun Valley trip for somewhere without snow.

Today, I am sharing 7 Restaurants to try, In Sun Valley, Idaho, for you to try on your visit. These are some of our family’s favorites and repeaters for us. I hope you’ll love them as much as we do.

A Little About Sun Val ey

Sun Valley is a great little ski town, home to two significant ski areas and a sister resort to Snow Basin in Eden, Ut. (where we live) It’s in Ketchum, Idaho, with fun little shops and excellent restaurants. We love to stay at The Sun Valley Lodge. You can’t go wrong dining at any of the restaurants on their property, but I have included three of our favorites: The Konditorei, Gretchen’s, and Dutchin’s Lounge.

Konditorei

Fireside coffee and hot cocoa. Fresh-baked European pastries. Casual dining for breakfast and lunch, with an Austrian twist. This is a daily stop for us, as w love, their breakfast, and we like to stop by for an afternoon coffee and treat. This is not to be missed.

Adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge lobby, Gretchen’s and The Duchin Lounge provide an exceptional dining experience. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are served daily At Gretchen’s.

7 Restaurants To Try In Sun Valley Idaho

Duchin Lounge

A cozy, welcoming bar and lounge serve handmade cocktails, craft beer, and tasty bites in the Sun Valley Lodge lobby.

View Restaurant in the Sun Valley Inn. The Duchin Loung serves unique cocktails & appetizers, “the brussel sprout appetizer is amazing” with a beautiful atmosphere and a nightly live piano player.

Saw Tooth Brewery -The Sawtooth Club has been the gathering place for Ketchum locals and visitors since 1987. And for a good reason! Always warm, comfortable, and welcoming, intimate yet lively. Rustic elegance and sophistication without pretension. The Sawtooth Club is in downtown Ketchum. Happy Hour is from 4:30-6:00. You should arrive at 4:30 for a seat. Dinner reservations are highly recommended.

The Celler Pub– A locals hang out, Good strong drinks (I like their Moscow mule), and a great happy hour. We always meet fun people and have great conversations.

Lefty’s – A local’s hang out, not a touristy spot. Very casual and affordable sports bar serving Grill and bar food. Families welcome, and they have a couple of arcade games for kids to be entertained. It gets very crowded, and you could wait a while for food if you get there at peak hours.

The Roundhouse

They were serving up sky-high lunches and dinners with breathtaking views.

Perched atop the Roundhouse Express gondola at 7,700 feet of elevation on Bald Mountain, The Roundhouse has served memorable meals, soul-warming drinks, and stunning views since 1939. The Roundhouse is America’s original on-mountain dining experience and offers the authentic charm of America’s etched elegance for which Sun Valley is known. Reservations are highly recommended. The view is worth the prices, which are on the higher end.

Ketchum Starbucks– If you’re a Starbucks lover, this is a must-stop! Fun architecture with exciting history, including a vault and Hemingway art, not to mention great photo opportunities.

Hello pretty Ladies, I hope you had a great weekend, today I am Sharing, February’s 10 Best Sellers You Don’t Want To Miss. A couple of these are best sellers over and over again. We also had new spring product releases from Spanx that sold well and quickly made it on February’s best-sellers list. I hope your week is going well. Happy March! We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary over the weekend and have been trying to get into the swing of a new week. It’s been a harsh winter in Utah this year, and with Valentine’s over, I added some simple Spring touches to our home this week and shared over on the gram. You all loved it so much that I thought I would recap nine simple and affordable little touches you could add to your home for a spring feel.

Adding Spring to the Kitchen area

If you’re like me, we’re primarily in our kitchens, and I like to start adding in the season here. You can make simple and affordable little changes that have a significant impact. I want to create tiny little vignettes for the seasons. For example, I start at my sink area and purchase new countertop cleaner, dish soap, and hand soap in a fresh scent of the season, add a new scrubber and a little silk pot of flowers, and a scented candle.

The cleaners and soaps are $3.99-$2.99, adding such a spring impact for so little money. The stand you can use every season for under $20, and a new little wooden scrubber is $6; I think it’s a cute little detail. A little silk flower pot is $6-9.00, and you can find spring candles for $10. This Fresh linen and Sea salt candle smells so good. Fresh and clean for Spring.

Spring Touches with color in mind

Add these cute striped ruffle dish towels, a Jute rug, Spring 40 oz Candle & candles, little birds, and silk flowers. To your space, please give it a fresh look and light up your room for Spring. Think lighter colors and colors of Spring that will work in your area. I choose yellow, green, white, and the natural color of jute.

Fresh flowers bring the outdoors in

I love fresh flowers too. Something about fresh flowers that make your home feel like you’re bringing the outdoors in: if you have been following me for a while, you know a bouquet of fresh flowers is something I treat myself to every week. I love trader joe’s, Costco flowers, and our local flower shops.

Changing out your Rugs

Changing out your rugs can make a significant impact on your space. Removing heavier fabrics and replacing them with lighter, airier ones, like jute, give your room a softer feel. Rugs can range in price, and you can find reasonable ones at places like Target and home goods. But I love Boutique rugs, and they are always having a sale. This darling jute circle rug comes in several sizes. I chose the smaller size as I knew it would fit perfectly in front of my sink and fridge. The circle is a fun change instead of the usual rectangle shape. (I got the large round for my entryway. )

Spring Center Piece for your Kitchen Island

Spring centerpieces can be easy to create, from a bowl with fresh lemons and limes to a simple flower centerpiece. You can get creative and use a dough bowl to add a bird’s nest and birds or bunnies. Of course, spring candles and fresh flowers are always a favorite. I will share several more ways in feature posts and stories on the gram, so tune in over there.

Hello pretty ladies. Spring is almost here, which means Summer is around the corner! This means Spending more time outdoors, and Beach & Lake Vacations are fast approaching. I love nothing more than spending time in the water. Whether poolside or beachside. Cabana Life resort wear is perfect for the whole family. I love that every collection has a matching swimsuit, making packing easier. I took several pieces to Palm Beach, Florida, which helped me easily pack and organize my outfits—being able to mix and match some of the collections as well. Like in this outfit below: From the Jetties Beach & Nantucket Collection. The colors work together even though the patterns are different. It makes for a fun combination.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns if the colors are the same. It works out great.

I hope your weekend was full of love and blessings. We laid low, worked on some projects, and lounged at home. I’ve been on a seven-day cleanse, and staying home helped me to stick with it.
