Last weekend we had an impromptu girl’s weekend at home! Not planned in any way, and I sometimes feel that’s the best kind! My sister Tiana was in town on business for Sundance, and we realized her Friday night and Saturday were free. So I called two of my other girlfriends and said, “come over for a simple dinner & drinks” they said they’d love to! (they happen to be kid-free!) YAY! No planning went into it at all. I used what I had at home, Quiche, soup, and some rolls. Super easy and no extra fuss. We even said, “wear something cozy and bring an overnight bag just in case!”  This led to a fun night of good talks, laughter, and even a few good tears staying up until 1 am, leading to a sleepover.

We woke up on Saturday to Sharon making scone’s a mix that she brought from her home served with yummy jam. Delicious! We stayed in our Pj’s being lazy ALL day on the couch… watching the Hallmark channel. I tried out some home beauty treatments (full treatment steps here), then we made a quick & easy dinner and planned our Sunday in Park City. Still in our Pj’s… 

Our Sunday plans really weren’t all that big…A little shopping, (Park city’s Tjmax has great finds) My sister said we should all buy these, (Which of course we’re going to take her beauty advice and all bought a set!) cafe’ sitting with people watching, a photoshoot, shopping the main street and finding a place we haven’t tried YET to eat!  (WINK) we love to head over to Park City a lot for a change of scenery. My Sister had appointments in the morning, so she had to meet us just a touch later. With no set schedule, we just rolled with how the day took shape. When you have a small group of 2-4, it’s easy to roll with the punches and not set a schedule.

The girlfriend bond is so important and really special when you can share your heart with no judgment. I am lucky to have a great group of girls that truly are a blessing in my life, and I love it when we can have lunch, a movie night, or even a quick drink on the deck. Having a whole weekend is rare, and I think really important for our girl bonding and that little break from family life. I think it helps us to be better moms and wives.

Here are my 5 Things to do for the easy perfect girl’s weekend!

  1. Don’t plan too much… It Makes for no stress and an easy weekend.
  2. Use food from your pantry, maybe have a girlfriend bring something she has on hand.
  3. Plan to stay in your pj’s and be lazy for 1 whole day.
  4. Drag out your masks, facial creams, and manicure stuff.
  5. Have an outing, a hike, a day trip, or a meal out.

Doing these 5 things will ensure you have a relaxing, well-rounded weekend with the girls.

A much-needed weekend with just the girls was just what I needed to relax, refocus and share stories to catch up—the perfect amount of laziness and girl time.

Found…My New Favorite Jeans!

My Top 10 Favorite Beauty & lifestyle products from 2017.

I thought you would love a round up of some of my favorite products I was lucky to try, review or sample from 2017. I have been lucky to work with a lot of companies and brands that I have loved and some not so much over the last year. Please know I always give my honest review and truly share my thoughts and results. I really enjoyed a ton of products in 2017 and here’s my top 10 Favorite products that I am still using in 2018. 

All of these products really helped my skin, my feet and a little help controlling my weight. With one little self indulgent… Tea, as a tea lover I found a brand that has me trying different teas and I am so enjoying it.

  1.  BooTea = A 14 day Tea cleanse= This cleanse is great for a Holiday detox or a jump start for a new diet. I did this last year after Christmas and it helped get me back on my regular eating habits after the indulgences from the Holiday’s. I will be starting it again this year in the Next week. It’s simple, drink a cup every morning and 1 night tea every other night for 14 day’s. You’ll be less bloated and your cravings from the Holiday’s will be lessened. I know mine sure did….I even lost about 5 lbs. Here’s to a jump start!
  2. SkinnyPop
    “Skinny Pop believes in snacking without compromise. That means using the fewest, cleanest and simplest ingredients possible to bring you the best tasting popcorn. As we age our skin needs different products and has different concerns it’s important to find products that work for your skin and it’s ok to try out different products or try a new mask weekly.
    • Retinol Vitamin C Concentrate
      • Unlike other serums this product is pure concentrate — it’s not diluted with water (which is often the first ingredient in other products).
      • Provides dermatologist levels of Retinol, as much as 5-10 times higher than other products.

      • I have been reading when we age our Skin really needs Vitamin C and to help with winkles Retinol in your skin regimen is very important so a combination of both in 1 bottle made great sense. I have noticed a difference in my skin since I’ve been using, the glow and the texture is improving specially on my neck.  

4. Coconut Body cream .  Creek Baby Coconut Body Crème is 100% Pure Organic Coconut Oil has no smell, which is great for moisturizing and then you can use your favorite fragrance.  Tip: I use the coconut oil in the shower after I dry off and that helps keep me  moisturized in the dry Winter. I do use it year round for soft skin.

5. Cyantific  Skin care line- Each product not only helps to protect the skin from damage, but also hydrates to dramatically minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves skin looking clearer, more radiant, helping to preserve beauty at every age. I used this line All summer and I loved what it did for my skin. I knew my mom would love it too. I gave this to my mom for her birthday in October and she loves it. 

Something I have learned in my years is that its great to find skin care lines that you love and get great results with. Remember to change seasonally, I personally change brands and products with the season. It’s good not to use the same products for years. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

6. BOH Tea– It’s no secret I prefer tea over coffee. Having the chance to try a couple variety’s of BOH tea’s made me switch from good old Lipton and Tazo tea to the rich bold flavor of Boh’s cameron gold blend. 

7. Good Virtues– Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner….I am a big Dry shampoo user and I was told it’s important to find a good Clarifying shampoo. It helps your scalp and hair from using hair products and dry shampoo. I have loved the smell and how it cleans my hair. This product is good to use 1-2 times a week.

8. Arawak Face powder– I have always used translucent powder and this organic powder works perfectly over your favorite foundation or without.  Has a great natural powder blends with almost any skin tone and is a powerful acne treatment. Better than mineral makeup! 

9. Fancy Feet– Give your favorite pair of shoes a comfortable makeover from the inside out. These cushions ease pressure on the ball of your foot and prevent your feet from sliding all over the place. Give your feet a “fancy” they’ll love you!

Day to Night Affordable Metallic outfit Idea

Seeing Stars and loving all this seasons’s metallic’s. Kut from the Kloth Jeans & Star sweater on SALE for $24, Tassel earrings Nordstrom ombre sold out so I linked the Solid colors.

I love that you can use this outfit day or night and that it really can be causal simply because it’s a Sweater & Jeans. Change out the Shoes and accessories to simple studded earrings and converse or bootie and you have a casual look. Looks that can change from day to night with just swapping out a couple of pieces makes going from work to dinner with ease.

  If you have been following me for awhile you know I am a big fan of Kut from the Kloth jeans. I love how they fit so when they come out with a new wash (this Metallic) or body style I am always up to grab a pair! The fabric is stretchy and the metallic gives them some glam.

Kicking off the New year with New Glitter booties!

Of coarse you know I’d kick of the New Year with NEW shoes:)…..(One of my FAVORITE things!) When I spotted these glittery cuties I really couldn’t pass them up and on SALE! I texted hubby and asked him if he wanted to get me a pair for Christmas (excuse because I would have bought them anyway!)  Of coarse I had to wrap them and put them under the tree… Who else has to do that?  These cuties really can be paired with a lot of items in your closet. I love how the dress up a simple sweater and your go to jeans! 

About the look…This simple striped sweater is up to date with the flared sleeve Similar sweater and gives it a fun on trend detail. Do you set resolutions? I really don’t set a list of Resolutions but I do set goals… I set Goals for every day, week, and month. I feel it’s a easier way to reach them without the pressure of sticking to something for a whole year! (the stress of failure!)  I can accomplish more looking at it as a daily goal (steps) working to the bigger. Then when the year comes to and end I can see all the ways I grew instead of failed! Maybe you could take the baby step way and set your daily goal, that helps you reach your main goal….Good luck! I think everybody loves a fresh start!

I wanted to share a couple of my goals for 2018 with you, I have a big list so I won’t bore you and list them all. I thought It would be fun to share my list throughout the month.

Wishing you all the best in 2018 with many blessing’s and I  hope you can make ALL your dreams come true.

I wanted to share with you a fun little outfit I created for New year’s with my favorite item from my Hubby’s closet! He’s velvet tuxedo jacket (Jcrew)…Although it’s a little big it works! It adds balances with having tight bottoms. I paired it with a fun sequins tank top (old), black jeggings by Kut from the Kloth, metallic rose gold Clutch  similar here and New Years worthy shoes by Badgley Mischka similar here.

I love thinking outside the box when it comes to creating a outfit and who say’s everything has to be new! Go dig in your hubby’s closet & see what you could barrow to dress up. I also like to search through my closet and find pieces I haven’t worn in awhile and create an outfit from that piece. In this case I found this cute cream sequined tank top. It’s amazing what can get “LOST” in your closet! 

I don’t know about you but I really do like to stay home for New Year’s eve. (every once in awhile it’s fun to go to a party) Growing up it was Tradition to get into Pj’s, cousins came over to play games & watch movies and my mom made a appetizer dinner for snacking all night and we tried to stay up for the ball drop. Having this kind of night with my family is relaxing after all the hustle of the Holiday’s. What’s your New year’s tradition?

Winter Wonderland

Happy Last Saturday in 2017!    

Do you need something fun to do this Winter or even this weekend? 

Ice Castle in Midway, Utah Should be a must on that list. Make sure to dress warm as “baby it’s cold outside!”  My long coat was perfect to go on the Ice slides without having to wear snow pants! My hubby however was not dressed appropriate and couldn’t take part! ( he missed out!)  Snow boots are also a must….With a castle made of 25,000,000 pounds of ice…Walking around in anything but boots is not recommended! (Hubby didn’t take note on this point either!) Shaking my head!    

The Ice Castle Story is quite interesting it started out being a Ice rink that turned out to have 20′ slide, Ice cave and a castle tower as the kids of the creator named it “Ice castle”.  It went through transformations after that first winter to later become what it is today.  The Castles require 11 weeks of intensive labor to complete the towers, archways, mazes, ice tubes, fountains, slides and tunnels to be ready for opening day. My hubby and I had a great little drive from where we lived in Eden to Midway (and made it a full night of fun) Stopped at Taggart’s grill for Dinner on the way! A Yummy little gem hidden off the 84 if you haven’t eaten here you must! Best Carrot cake ever! (besides mine…Wink!) After our Fun visit to Ice castles we took a detour drive through Park City & stopped for a Peppermint mocha. All the Christmas lights along the drive were stunning! Park City is lit up and worth the little detour! I don’t know about you but I love taking drives and really enjoy the private time with just my hubby.  I hope you take time out of your week and make that time for a date night. Even if it just for a little drive!
