Hello Pretty Ladies,

I hope you had an amazing April and that your May will be full of blessings and pretty weather. The way these Spring months are flying by, it will be the 4th of July before we know it! Can someone push the slowdown button? My mom always said, “Wait until you get older. The time goes by even faster, so enjoy all the moments.” Boy, was she right!

Today, I wanted to share a quick Midlife Helper: a daily water drink. This drink is perfect for skin, metabolism, health, and cravings. It gives you energy and hydrates. ( Please remember I am not a Doctor, I am just sharing something that works for me.) OX, D’Arcy

Midlife Helper: A Daily Water Drink

1 La Croix I like lime

1 scoop collagen- I like dressing your truth by Carol Tuttle

One scoop electrolytes– I like Empowered Electrolytes by Empowered Aging

1 scoop Chia seeds

1 cup of ice water

One cup of Ice

Stir and enjoy. If it’s too sweet, use a bigger cup and add more water. I’ll sometimes add more water as I drink.

Celebrate Mother’s Day In NYDJ and Your Mom

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Can you believe we’re at the end of April and heading into May? That happened so fast! I’ve had a lot going on since the beginning of the year, and I’m finally starting to feel like I’m seeing the light. With May starting tomorrow, that means Mother’s Day is just 10 days away, on Sunday, May 11th. I haven’t made any plans yet, but I’m looking forward to finally getting my pots and garden planted, as Mother’s Day marks the start of the growing season in Utah, when it’s safe to grow without a major freeze. Hallelujah!

Tailored menswear details, from a point collar to long sleeves with button cuffs to a back yoke, keep the design classic. I would Size Down in this top. Mom paired it wth these Mona Wide Leg Trouser Ankle Jeans, which also run one size smaller. She loved how comfortable this outfit is, and adored the shade of pink. It’s both our favorite color, in this shade.

As the weather gets warmer and spring rolls in, it’s always a good idea to switch things up and refresh your lifestyle. It can be something as simple as brightening up the dining table with a new springtime appetizer, such as tulip baguette bites. A previous post guides you through this easy-to-follow recipe that requires a few simple ingredients, including French baguette, cherry tomatoes, basil, chives, and spreadable cheese.

Aside from introducing new additions to your menu, springtime presents the perfect opportunity to update your wardrobe. To start, you can experiment with the latest spring dress trends, ranging from a cherry red palette as a fashion statement to boho chic vibes characterized by flowy fabrics, ruffles, and fringes.

Whatever trend you plan to incorporate into your everyday look, it goes without saying that a spring outfit wouldn’t be complete without footwear. Shoes not only enhance your style but also serve a practical purpose for comfort, so here are footwear options that balance fashion and function and are worth adding to this season’s wardrobe.

Leather sandals

If you’ve become tired of wearing thick, chunky shoes during winter to protect your feet and trudge through the snow, it’s time to let your toes breathe by wearing leather sandals. While sandals have always been a warm-weather staple, you can elevate your style for springtime by looking into different leather finishes, straps, and cutouts.

Ballet flats

Ballet flats are expected to be the it-shoe of 2025, especially with luxury brands like Alaïa and Gucci releasing their own takes on the classic flats for their spring/summer 2025 collections. Whether you opt for Alaïa’s bejeweled flats or Gucci’s strapped styles, these shoes are a must-have since they’re versatile and can be styled with wide-legged trousers, denim jeans, and slips and dresses.

However, if you’re planning to be out and about this spring, it’s worth considering the ballet flats from luxury label Patou’s collaboration with Japanese sportswear brand Onitsuka Tiger. The flats blend Patou’s distinctive feminine style with the sleek playfulness of Onitsuka Tiger sneakers. Made of Nappa leather and available in a pink and black colorway, these shoes are ideal for springtime walks around the neighborhood.

Kitten heels

Lastly, those looking to add a more feminine touch to their wardrobes can opt for kitten heels, which help you look equally chic and comfortable with the slender, low-mid heel. Like the aforementioned sandals and ballet flats, kitten heels have been around for decades, popularized by the French fashion house Dior.

However, they’ve emerged in modern, reimagined styles in recent years, as seen in celebrities like Ariana Grande and Sydney Sweeney. Grande wore her white kitten heels with a bow detail and lacy tights, while Sweeney looked effortlessly stylish in a casual tee, mini skirt, and open-toed kitten heels from Miu Miu. You may also find affordable options of this side-walk friendly heel on Charles & Keith, with their contemporary designs ranging from thong sandals to slingback Mary Janes.

Three Ways to Style Floral Pants

Today’s a fun day on the blog. Not only is it Way to Wear Wednesday, but it’s also the last Wednesday of the month, which means it’s also a blog hop day. Today, the ladies are sharing all things Springs. I can’t wait to read all the ladies’ blogs this morning, see what they’re focusing on, and share with the Spring theme. Three Ways to Style Floral Pants this Spring. Floral prints aren’t something new for Spring, but how we style the print can be fresh, finding a fun floral pattern that grabs your attention and finding a floral print on something you might not already own in a floral print. In my case, it was jeans.

I found these beautiful Leon Double Hem High-Rise Wide-Leg Cuffed Jeans by Pilcro: Floral Edition, and as soon as I laid eyes on them, I knew they had to be mine. Not having anything like them in my wardrobe. I am not a big floral pattern girl, and it is hard to believe. You would think I would own a ton of florals, but I don’t own a lot of prints. This is probably one of my favorite Spring outfits. I can’t wait for the weather to allow me to wear it. Spring in Utah requires a sweater—or, as we say in the styling world, “a third piece.” The Cashmere Quince button-up cardigan is so cozy and soft. Third Way to Style Floral Pants

Pull the beautiful shade of blue out of the floral print by pairing it with a Blue faux leather jacket. Mine is a Charlie B, and Madison Maison slides in the same shade. Keeping it neutral with a mocha long-sleeve crew neck. Silver is making a strong appearance this Spring, and I am here for it. I love this silver, and I wear silver hoops and a Kendra Scott necklace.

I am sharing quick and easy outfit inspiration with you today. If you like an outfit, you might have similar items in your closet to create a similar look. Try Layering a sweater over a sweater. It’s a fun way to layer textures and something a little different.Everyday Outfit Spring Sweater Layers are great wardrobe builders you’ll wear year-round. They are separate, and you can mix and match them throughout the seasons. I love Classic pieces to build your wardrobe…pieces that can take you into Spring, mixing and matching with pieces you already own, yet can also take you into other seasons. Classic pieces are those key pieces that are “keepers,” meaning you can own them for years without them going out of style.

Easy Spicy Jalapeño Margarita Recipe

It’s Sunday, which means Sunday dinners, and tonight, we’re having Smoked smash burgers with all the fixings, homemade French fries, Country beans, and Fresh fruit per Hamptons’ request. I’m sharing a recipe below for one of my favorite Margaritas and a few favorite things from the week you could have missed.

Easy Spicy jalapeño Margarita Recipe

Hudson joined me in the kitchen today to make one of our family’s favorite Margaritas.

Recipe below:

-Glass of ice

-1 shot Tequila of your choice (we like Patron or Don Julio)

-Oneshot Elevated Mixers Margarita mix

-1 shot Grand Gala is an orange brandy liqueur or Grand Marnier or Cointreau (These are better options than triple sec)

-Salt for the rim

-Lime sliced for the rim and juice

-2 Jalapeños sliced for muddling (reserve some for cocktail skewers)

-Handful of BlackBerries for muddling (reserve some for skewers)

-Blue Berries for skewers

Directions:

Rim the glass with lime and dip it into salt. Add ice and one shot of Tequila, mix, stir a lime squeeze, and drop in a couple of Jalapeños. Stir (I also like to muddle in blackberries), stir, and float with liqueur. Top with a jalapeño, blackberry, and blueberry skewer.

You can add jalapeño depending on how spicy you like your cocktail. We like it spicy. I’ll muddle 5 to 6 slices in with 1/2 a lime juice. This is when you add some blackberries as well.

Enjoy alone or with my roasted peppers, chips, salsa, and Guacamole.
